Great service from the friendly staff and great location! HarborView Inn is in walking distance for dining, site seeing and shopping. Staff was very accomodating and friendly!

The amenities were excellent. Noise from roof garden woke us at 7:00a.m. each day. The establishment lists itself as 4-diamond, but I found it to be 3.5 star.

My husband and I stayed here Labor Day weekend 2008 to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised by a complimentary bottle of champagne and a charming Happy Anniversary card. While this hotel is not large enough to house a restaurant, they make up for it by having hearty continental breakfasts served to the room or on the rooftop terrance, as well as snacks throughout the day and a wine party in the evenings. Plus, the hotel is so centrally located that you can't throw a stick without hitting a wonderful restaurant. The rooftop terrace offers fantastic views - I went up there several times to enjoy the breezes and the sites of the fountain, the streetviews and the city. The room was special - above average. We especially appreciated the Temperpedic mattresses and excellent pillows. The valet service is superb and a good value. I heartily recommend this charming little hotel.

The view from the rooftop terrace. The helpfulness of the staff. The view from our room. The location is wonderful, within a block or two of so many restaurants and Market Street. The staff was attentive and helpful. I will definitely stay here again. Have been to Charleston many times, this is one of the best places to stay.

I just had a perfect trip to Charleston, part of which is due to the Harbour View Inn. What a wonderful hotel. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Without the assistance of one staff member, we would not have gotten our delayed luggage until the next day. There are so many special touches included: breakfast, which can be delivered to your room, wine/cheese reception in the evenings, warm cookies and milk at night, and tea/water and candy out in the lobby throughout the day. When they did not have the water out in the lobby, the staff at the desk gave us bottled water to take with us. The beds are Tempurpedic and are wonderful. This experience at this hotel is worth the extra cost.

What a great hotel in a great city. Everything and everbody in the hotel was top shelf. I've staye at a lot of 5 star hotels traveling for business before and this would rank up there as one of the very best.

The hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast in the room was delightful and the atmosphere was very friendly. The only issue was there was very little sitting room for a social event such as the wine and cheese social. However, this was not a big problem.

We just returned from a beautiful trip to Charleston. Can't say enough about the staff and the service we recieved. This vacation was everything that we had hoped for... and more. From the fresh breakfast, the wine and cheese evening reception, and warm cookies for the late night snack.... every was wonderful. Really enjoyed the evening on the roof terrace overlooking the city. Would definitely hope to make plans to return to Charleston ... and the Harbourview Inn.

This is hotel is in a perfect location. The rooms are large including the bathroom and very comfortable. The staff is extremely nice and helps you with all of your questions. Breakfast in bed is a nice touch as well as the wine and cheese hour every night. We have been to Charleston many times and have never stayed here until this trip. However, going forward we will likely always stay here.

Complimentary wine reception, open fireplace. No restaurant. This is a cozy little hotel, The thing I did not like was that our room window over looked power grid which I did not like. Hotel Clean, staff very friendly and helpful.

We were attracted to this hotel by the pictures of the historic rooms, so we got one of those - brick walls, view of the fountain. Large room, very clean with a comfortable king bed. We would recommend one of these rooms - very unique and inviting. We asked the concierge for a tour of some of the other rooms - some have fireplaces and balconies overlooking the harbor, but all are very well appointed. There are two sections, but the hotel is pretty new (a few years, I think). The historic section, where we stayed, was a converted cotton warehouse. Great location - short walking distance from the best restaraunts and shopping in town. They parked our car when we arrived, and we didn't touch it till we left. The staff was great. There are several 4 stars to choose from in Charleston, and they all try to make sure that their guests come back instead of trying a different one. For us, the Harbour View succeeded.

Not only was the Harbor View a great hotel but continental breakfast delivered to your door, wine and cheese every afternoon and cookies and milk at night.

Wine and cheese, complimentary breakfast service, location and cookies! The location was perfect, right on the water and in walking distance of restaurants and shops. Lovely complimentary services including breakfast in the room, served promptly with coffee hot. The rooms were a nice size with Tempurpedic mattresses and good linens. Staff was consistently kind and helpful.

My husband and I recently stayed at HVI and we could not have asked for a better hotel. The staff, the facility, the amenities, and the location were all first rate. Every single member of the staff seem to do everything possible to make sure each guest has the best stay possible. As far as the rooms, the ones with a view of the harbour are street side and seem to be smaller than the ones on the backside. Some rooms have fireplaces and sunken tubs. The room we stayed in was in the back with a view of an electrical substation but we didn't come to Charleston to sit in our room and look out the window. Therefore, we chose a backside room as it was larger and quieter - not that any of them are noisy. If you want a "view", sit on the rooftop terrace or get outside and enjoy it in person!! The only downside was the breakfast packages. Not much to choose from but keep in mind this hotel is a hotel with no restaurant or cooking facilities. Taking that into consideration, what they do offer is quite good and they were creative with their packages. And all of the extra goodies throughout the day are added bonuses. HVI is the best choice in Charleston!!

Amenities, coffee bar, wine & cheese hour, and breakfast. Many rooms have no view. As a place to stay, the hotel is terrific, nice staff, lots of amenities not found in costlier hotels, great bathroom, and good location to see the city. When making a reservation, check to see if you have a view. Many rooms are not harbor view.
