Proprieter welcoming, room adequate, a breakfast option would have made it ideal even though it was a bit pricey.

Lovely land lady but room boiling hot and stuffy, very old fashioned could do with new decor, cobwebs and mould in bathroom.noisy road,ok breakfast ,but told we should vacate rooms by 10.00am at 9.30am and we hadn`t even showered by then.Quite near to town ,but prob good for students .

The hotel was in a convenient location and is run by an extremely friendly and helpful lady. However, the standard of the room was poor - I think it was last decorated in 1972! £66 for B&B seemed rather expensive. Breakfast was good, though.

Very pleasant place - eay to find, easy access to Oxford by car or bus (watch out for the misleading parking signs in Oxford though. or parking tickets await)Bed comfy and plenty of space in our roomOnly criticism would be slightly average shower (other rooms may have a bath/shower) and the very kind owner makes incredibly weak coffee - so remember to ask for a strong one (or bring your own!!)Overall very satisfied - excellent place to stay for a couple of nights

Happy Lodge is basically a very standard bed and breakfast for the Oxford area - it's a bit like staying at Grandma's house. Floral patterned wallpaper and bedcovers, furniture from the 1950s and 60s, a little bit musty, toiletries in bulk sizes bought from the grocery store, etc. Lodgers get a key to the front door, which is nice, because some places lock you out after a certain hour. There is free wireless interest, with good signal strength. I would mainly recommend Happy Lodge because the owner was very very nice to me, including cooking breakfast when I woke up late, giving me advice on the area, helping with my bags, etc.

The proprietor was really friendly and helpful. It was easy to get to Oxford by bus as she said and the room was large. clean and had it's own shower. Overall I was very happy with my stay.

The place is satisfactory, the staff wasn't very helpful and breakfast was extra. It's in a convienent location but you could find better accommodations.

Not at all impressed by this B&B. For the price, we could have stayed in a better decorated B&B nearer to the city centre. One of the only positives is that there is a very regular bus to the city centre which stopped not far from the lodge.
