Hamton Inn at San Jose was quite comfortable, had good, firm beds, the bathrooms need some update. Location is excellent with a free shuttle ride for 3-4 minites. It is good for short, nice stay. The rental cars are conveniently located in the back of it. Needs more restaurants close by other then Dennys.

The friendliness and helpful staff! There was nothing I didn't like! Whether on vacation or business, if you want to be treated like a person and feel like you’re at home, stay at the Hampton Inn. I would never recommend a place called the Sanctuary as the lady in charge there Masha Supranovich has no respect for people. She is rude and unfriendly. The Hampton Inn is the way to go and the Costa Rican people are so very kind.

Nice quality business hotel, located very close to the airport. The shuttle service is quick and a welcome site to new visitors. The staff was friendly and all speak english, the rooms were very nice and typical of U.S. The breakfast was ok with usual cereal, breads, fruits. The addition of rice/beans and some hot dish were also served. The coffee was plentiful and very good. There is a Denny's within walking distance and a Casino but otherwise you are stranded from things to do. Cabs are about * each way into San Jose. Nice hotel, but stay there only if you have a reason to be near the airport. Most tours will pick you up from there however. No complaints at all, with familiar surroundings. The TV did have a number of english channels, such as FOX CNN HBO and sports.

Definitely the cleanest and quietest hotel near SJO. The pool is in the shade of the building in the afternoon. On travels to Costa Rica I find it useful to schedule a first and last night stay near the airport. The Hampton Inn is an American-style hotel. It is spotless, quiet and truly offers a soft landing location. When you travel to Costa Rica you can expect some flight delays, and you should avoid hassling with buses and taxis if you can. A nice hotel near Juan Santamaria is worth a few extra bucks. When you check out of the hotel, leave San José - rent a villa at a beach somewhere.

I was to have a rental car delivered to me and they told the rental agent that I was a no show and not at the hotel. When in fact I was sitting in my room waiting for the car. This caused me an hour delay for the day.

This is a very standard American-style hotel. Staff was friendly, security was good, rooms were comfortable, and very close to the airport. Other's staying with me ate at Fiesta nearby and highly recommend it.
