My first impression of the room was delightful. The pool was heated and there were fresh towels waiting. The beds and pillows were very comfortable when I sat upon them. I was very pleased with my choice of hotels, until we were ready for bed and pulled the comforter back and there was a brown stain on one side of it. At first I thought it was just a stain. But I had to do the sniff test. (I couldn't let my 3 year old lay in something nasty)Yep.... I was right. At first I was appalled! Then I called down stairs and told them what we had found. The manager was up there in less than 5 minutes and personally changed both beds herself. She could not apologize enough.She said it was the second time that evening that she had to change sheets for customers. We also found several things around the room that should have been gathered up with the trash. Such as empty soda can, hair barretts and scrap paper. It was obvious that the cleaning crew is very thorough. I still like the comfort and neighborhood where the Hotel is located.

I grew up in Hazard, and was visiting family during my stay. The Hampton Inn was relatively new, and I thought I would give it a try. I was SO impressed to find such a lovely place! The staff were super-nice, the room clean, the beds wonderful, and the breakfast better than at the majority of hotels these days. I know it can be difficult to find a place to stay in and around the beautiful town of Hazard, but it you have a choice, definitely choose this place! It was well worth it! (Plus it is walking distance to the Applebee's , one of the handfull of sit-down eaterys available in the area.)

If you should happen upon Hazard, KY in your travels, this is the place to stay. Start off with breakfast, toodle around Hazard, and end the day at the Applebee's next door. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, breakfast area/lobby is very nice.
