We have been coming to Charleston, SC for 8 years and we have stayed at a variety of hotels. This is the first time since traveling personal or professional that we have encountered such a wonderful person and staff at a hotel. [...] (manager) was absolutely amazing. Very fun, personable, and honest about different places to visit and try. We will stay at THIS Hampton Inn and Suite when we come back next year. In addition, the rooms were spotless. They change the shower curtains each day, the dust ruffles, and all the sheets. It smells new and very clean. My wife is a stickler about that stuff. Needless to say we will be coming back. Mellow Mushroom was great! Bocci's was pretty decent. The beach was right on. Thanks again [...]! See you soon. We even left a tip for the cleaning staff. Ranard and Leigh

The rooms were very nice and it was just a short distance from downtown. The shower was difficult for my wife to turn on. This hotel meet all of our needs. It was clean, a short drive from anywhere we wanted to go, and the staff was very helpful. They let us check in early with out a fee and were very helpful with a map of the city. Overall a great experience.

My wife and I looked forward to a night away and booked this hotel because of the location, etc. We arrived and everything seemed fine. during the night the A/C started amking noise. We tried to call the front desk, but after our calls went unanswered for 20 minutes we decided to just turn it off. The next morning at check out i was asked how our stay was. I explained the noisy air and my disatisfaction, she completely ignored me. I got my reciept and figured I would call corporate later and straigten things out. I continued to breakfast with my wife. When we arrived in the breakfast area it was crowded. I asked where we should sit and the lady said wherever we could find room, she did'nt seem concerned. Upon returning to the area where the food was located, a few other guest and myself noticed that there were ROACHES on the counter. The other guest and myself left without eating. My wife and I went to a restaurant and ate. This was on a Friday. The following Monday I contacted Hilton's guest services and they stated that if I did not recieve a phone call from the local hotel within 72 hours that they would take care of the situation. 72 hours later I recieved a follow-up email from Hilton stating that they had been told that I was contacted and everything was worked out, this was a complete lie. I called Hilton again by phone and they stated that they would be compensating me with a free nights stay IN THE SAME HOTEL. I explained that this was not compensation but reimbursement, and that I certainly did not wish to stay in the same hotel. The end result was that they were very rude and ended up saying that they were refunding my money and that I did not deserve additional compensation since they were doing this. DO NOT STAY IN THIS ROACH INFESTED HOTEL. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else that you will be appreciated. Hope this review helps. I would like to add that I am a traveling professional and stay in hotels about 3 days a week. This was my first stay

Very clean, comfortable, and friendly. I have no complaints at all about this hotel! Very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful hot and cold breakfast with lots of choice, and low fat options for dieters! Central location would stay in this hotel again!

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The first was when it was brand new, and we were taken back by the rooms, comfort, and location to where we needed to be. This time was just as great, and even though it was for another funeral, we really didn't have time to enjoy the pool we overlooked. My husband was able to go down and enjoy the social hour. When we go back into Charleston again, we will stay again at this hotel. Great location, walking distance to go out for dinner, and located close to the city if you want to go into town.Thank You for the great stay, and the staff was wonderful and very helpful.Thank YouJill BiancoFredericksburg, VA

Friendly staff, large size suite, comfortable king bed. Bed pillows too soft, location a bit problematic. Friendly, helpful staff in a clean well kept facility. Room nicely kept up. Beautiful lobby/great room looking out on pool area great to lounge in.

My third stay was enjoyable and the suite was perfect for the week. Only problem was that windows don't open, so one has very limited ventilation options. Good breakfast, friendly staff - would definitely recommend.

Staff was efficient and attentive. The rooms could use an update and thorough cleaning. Good value for the money, close enough to downtown and Folley beach.

We have stayed here before and will come back whenever we are in Charleston. The only thing that could make it better would be to have a little firmer pillows.

Several old Air Force buddies and I met there for a reunion. We were stationed in Turkey together 40 years ago. The rooms were reasonably clean. They were well furnished with a small refrigerator and microwave. The central lobby and dining area were very nice. There were good restaurants close by as well as the largest mall in the area. Getting to downtown Charleston took just a few minutes. I would stay there again.

Very nice hotel. Hampton Inn has a reputation of being a quality hotel and it was. Nice clean rooms, comfortable beds. Continental breakfast a little skimpy, but good. I have stayed there three times already and would continue to do so.

Staff was excellent. Free breakfast was a little weak not bad though. Comfy, quiet, new, with great staff. A bit of a drive from downtown Charleston but not too bad when not in rush hour traffic. Easy trip back to the airport though. Would stay there again.

I had a great stay. I would recommend this to others. Location is great also.

Security. That it is a hotel, not a motel with exterior doors as most in the area. The rooms are spic and span clean, but carpets in hallways and rooms need replacing. The location, security and amenities of this hotel have caused me to use it frequently when in the area. The facilities are quite clean and comfortable, the decor is current in style, but does need a bit of refreshing, carpet, especially. I continue to stay there.
