To whom extortion lies, and other bad developments concerns at the Hampton, I am writing you about a situation regarding a Hampton Inn because it is one of the Hilton affiliates. I talked to the hotel manager and was astonished that they were not helping to reserve rooms for a group, birthday party for my daughter. In fact they were discouraging my business completely. I called the management company, which is Janko Management and left a message. Instead of calling me back Janko Management just forwarded my information to the Hampton Inn. This time the General Manager called and again denied my business, because she said she would not risk one child at my party disturbing any of the hotel guests. The General Manager said Hampton’s policy is 100 percent satisfaction and she would not risk having to comp one room because of my daughter’s birthday party. If it was not bad enough that I was denied the four rooms that I tried to reserve, the General Manager took this matter further, and she has many people upset. I wanted to reserve three or four rooms and I had a gift certificate for one room also from a raffle at a Saint Baldrick’s fundraiser. The raffle was put together by a woman who volunteers her time and organized the entire event. The Hampton General Manager was mad that the raffle I won was described as a birthday package; the General Manager called around to get this woman’s name and called her at home. Once, the Hampton’s General Manager reached this woman who is just a volunteer for a nonprofit organization, the General Manager tried to extort money from her to insure my daughter’s party at the YMCA and not the Hampton. I looked at the information about reserving rooms at the Hampton and I am wondering why I am singled out and cannot have my daughters party there, but the Hampton does offer group events and the Hampton is advertising a chance to win a night stay and pizza party. The General Manager refuses to let my daughter have her party there because of the fear that one guest may be disturbed and she is worried about that one what if guest’s 100 percent satisfaction, but I want to know about my satisfaction. The General Manger is worried about this what if guest and the possibility of losing money on one room, but she is willing to lose my three or four rooms, she is trying to extort money from a nonprofit organization, calling people unrelated and giving detail of this issue, and she has violated my private personal rights by giving out my name, number, and the details of my party and this issue. So I am asking if anyone can help and I really think that it is important that Hilton knows about this General Manager because she is really making herself known and in a very negative way. Also I just wanted you to know that I am considering addressing my concern to Janko Management again, the towns Visitor Bureau, the Chamber of Commerce, and I may think of more outlets too. If there are any further questions, or if someone would actually want to rectify a disappointed soon to be 7 year old's party please contact me. Also I was just summarizing the concerns I have and I will be happy to give you the location of which Hampton if you chose to follow up. I do truly hope that you can help because this whole experience has been exhausting and frustrating for my daughter who was counting on this and myself her mother who just wanted to make her happy with a birthday she would not forget.

The location. A very nice Hampton Inn. My disappointment was with the weather, not the hotel. There were cookies at the main desk which was a nice touch.

I was impressed by the staff's friendliness and the breakfast choices. Our room was clean, though the maid forgot to replace the conditioner (it was half empty), but it smelled nice and looked nice.
