Everything about our hotel was quite nice, but their were 3 mosquitoes in the bath tub(no big deal), but there were 2 cockroaches in the bathroom and 2 spiders crawled across the cover on our bed while we were in it! This area is known for these type things, so, it was not an earth shaking problem! We did not complain but in retrospect, I wish we had. The pool was unbelievably noisy. I thought I might go there and actually went there,but their were 23 children in the pool and 5 female parents sitting under umbrellas talking on cellphones, with not a care that their children were around the pool and screaming to the top of their lungs...I was genuinely afraid that one of the children would slip and fall on the cement and that would have been catastrophic, for sure! When they started diving into the Jacuzzi, I simply left. At one time there were 9 children in the Jacuzzi and THAT was an accident waiting to happen! It is almost impossible to chaperon that many children especially when they were on their cellphones, and one child actually slipped and caught himself while running at the edge of the pool. I am glad nothing happened and when that child's mom saw him slip, she simply laughed and continued talking on her phone. The pool and Jacuzzi rules are posted in plain sight, but nobody seemed to care. I want be going back to this Hampton Inn anytime soon!

Lobby and complimentary breakfast very good. The room smelled. Not sure what it was, but it was unpleasant. The smell was not in the hall, but confined to the room.

The staff was excellent. Even called once I was in the room to make sure everything was OK. This was the best staff I have ever experienced at this price. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel. On Tuesday evenings they had a "Managers" party where they had free food and beverages. The pool was down for servicing and upgrades but we were allowed to go to the Marriot next door so the kiddies could swim.

Very nice room and staff, bed very comfortable, everything very clean.Easy check-in all rooms near the elevators and ice machine. Coke are still 75 cents in the machines. Not the Ritz but great place to stay in New Bern."

We were greeted by ""Our hotel is pet friendly"" and a cute lab and chirping parakeet. Unfortunately our child is highly allergic to dogs, cats and birds. If we had known we would not have stayed there. All other rooms in town were full due to festival.( Bathrooms do not have fans.YUCK!)

I wish I gone online and worked a deal on the price. Otherwise, I was very pleased with everything here. There was cookies and candy in the lobby for guests. Coffee available 24 hours and fruit was out as well.
