a Navy town with excellent culture and fun...welcome to the Hampton Inn Norfolk-Naval Base.If all the frigates, destroyers, carriers and ships didn't give it away, surely the word "Norfolk" let you know you're in a Navy town. The area around the Hampton Inn? hotel in Norfolk-Naval Base is home to the largest naval base in the world. And as our name suggests, the base is just minutes from our hotel in Norfolk.Once you've watched the ships pull out, explored the Nauticus Maritime Museum and poked about the amazing lengths of the USS Wisconsin, don't miss the collection of our world-class art museum, the Chrysler Museum. You might also consider taking a driving trip of Hampton Roads or catching a concert by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. And if you want to get out on the water yourself, the Chesapeake Bay is just six miles from our hotel in Norfolk. Just make sure to yield right-of-way to those ships! We think once you've explored Norfolk, you'll agree it's a Navy town with excellent culture and fun.services & amenitiesHere at the Hampton Inn Norfolk-Naval Base, we're passionate about taking good care of you. Our first positive experience occurred when our GPS failed and we were lost. A call to the desk and a very courteous and helpful desk clerk guided us out of the downtown area and directly to the hotel. From there on, all else was great!!!!

There are facilities like gym and an indoor swimming pool. Rest all, infect there is hardly anything to like about the hotel. If you take my advice, don't stay in here. This place stinks. The rooms are very small, the staffs are not friendly and the location of the hotel is horribly out of place.

Check in was very easy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean room except for alittle bit of mold on the bathtub tile. Excellent continental breakfast and internet service in the lobby. Visiting my son, who is in the Navy and we haven't seen each other in three years. The hotel was home away from home without worries. Hotel is located just a few minutes to the base and about 25 minutes to Virgina Beach. Will stay there again if the need arises.

Room was a nice size. Wasn't informed about the construction, which was an eye sore & annoying. A nice hotel. The unexpected construction made me feel like I was going thru a war zone jus to get to my room. I would stay there again, I would just like notice that the hotel was going thru renovations ahead of time.

We only stayed here for one night while moving our son to Norfolk...we found this hotel to be amazingly clean, the staff exceptionally friendly and the complimentary breakfast fantastic! There are many choices for dinner around you once you check in and very convenient to the base if you need to be close. We will definitely stay here again when we go back.

staff was great! the location was fine for what we wanted to do elevator was slow, the carpets in the hall were stained Staying at Hampton Inn was nice, the view could have been better but overall it was nice, rooms were clean and maids were friendly and front desk very nice. The full breafast was very nice.

free breakfast poor housekeeping; poor wireless internet We liked the convenient location and great price as well as free breakfast. Staffs at the lobby were nice but housekeeping was poor. The housekeeping staffs did not fill kleenex in the bathroom and the room was not clean as I would expect. Although they say wireless internet is available, the signal was too weak to get connected and the staff at the lobby admitted the poor connection.Despite some inconvenience, I was happy with staying at this hotel for the price.

Location to naval base was great. The staff was not helpful in locating a roll away bed.

The pool and free breakfast were great The pool and free breakfast easily made this a 2 1/2 star hotel and it was very convenient to the Naval base and major highways to get around.

The hotel was clean, quite peaceful The location of the hotel was in a bad part of the city, we didn't feel safe. The hotel was clean and quiet, but the location was terrible. We didn't feel safe in the neighborhood. The hotel didn't have a laundry room, and the pool location was observed by all who entered the hotel. The breakfast was good. This hotel would be nice if it was closer to Virginia Beach.

Nice comfortable beds. Cleanrooms. Staff were unprofessional in dress and actions amongst each other. Hotel was good. Staff were pleasant but unkempt.

Clean, comfortable beds and pillow, excellent price for the room, beautiful entry furniture at the registration desk, unbelievable breakfast choices The bathroom had a strong urine odor We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. The atmosphere was very nice upon entry and the registration staff was pleasant. They had a pool and hot tub. The beds were incredibly comfortable -- could not believe how comfortable they were and the pillows! They had a huge breakfast menu and it was included in the price of the room. Since we were staying for our vacation on the Outer Banks we booked cheaper hotels on arrival and departure close to the airport. We stayed at a Super8 Motel upon arrival and the Hampton Inn the night before our departure. The Hampton Inn was absolutely the best choice for our money. We decided from now on we would stay at a Hampton Inn before choosing any other hotel - it was absolutely the best value.

Hotel staff all said hello upon first contact. Hot water did not work well. Nice hotel. Staff was very courteous. I Wish hotel had better hot water system (each use had to turn on hot water & wait at least 15 minutes prior to each use, 1st shower was bad experience)
