Great room! Very clean. Nice and friendly staff. I would stay there again.

Staff is friendly and helpful without being overly solicitous. Day concierge aroused my suspicions about his connection to limo/taxi service. The Chelsea/Manhattan Hampton Inn is excellently located near subway and bus. Taxis, of course, abound. The hotel is in excellent repair, clean, offers hot breakfast, and is welcoming. The beds are the most comfortable I've encountered in a hotel recently. Elevators are efficient and fast. WiFi is standard. Rooms are small but comfortable.

recently spent a night at this hotel. I was really suprised at how much we enjoyed it . wasn't sure of the location, but proved to be very easy to access subway uptown and down, The continential breakfast was very good also, The staff was very friendly and helpful, we stored our luggage after check out so we could shop then took a shuttle to the airport, everything worked out fine. The bed was comfortable, and the room was very clean. We will definitely stay here again.

Good value for the money. I found out you can stay further uptown but for more . The room was very attractively decorated and all the staff were extremely helpful. Rooms are smaller than the photos look on the internet but hey you're in Mahattan and who expects a big room? You still have plenty of room to move around. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was great featuring both hot and cold items every morning. Also, they changed the menu from am to am and that was good. Also, you have computers in the lobby with internet access which I appreciated since I did not bring my laptop. There are resturants, banks, drugs stores nearby where you can grab the stuff you forget to bring, cheaper sodas or replace stuff you have to throw out in the airplort. Taxis and buses are easily found on 6th and 7th streets (the 2 major crossstreets.) My only concern was walking around the block at night because the street is quiet (which is good) but there are also not a lot of people around after dark. Overall, good hotel - worth the money. Empire State Building is about 10 blocks up and Madison PARK (not the venue) is 2 blocks over.

I liked Jessica, who was very nice and professional at the front desk. She should provide training to other hotel staff. Hotel was super clean and in a great location.

Our 2 bed room was not ready when we arrived at 4pm(check-in was 3pm). We were told we could wait, but instead just opted for a 1 queen bed since we were only staying for 1 night. The shower head in the bath was awful, only half of the water came through. There was hardly any water pressure and was it pulled out of the wall. Rooms were tiny, no safebox, the A/C heating unit was also quite shabby. My toiletries must have been left over from previous guests b/c the packaging had dried water mark crust on them. The bed and blankets/sheets were very comfortable and soft. Overall it was DECENT, GOOD ENOUGH. We were only using the place to get ready to go out and to sleep. Only stayed here because the usual hotel we stay was book. We'll be going back to our usual hotel from now on. p.s the "fitness facility" is the size of a walk-in closet with 2 treadmills

When we arrived, we were told that though we were allowed to book for 5 in a room, a rollaway bed doesn't really fit in the room. That being the case, we would appreciated being told in advance so we could have made other arrangements. The hallways were very narrow and the carpet was smelly but the room was clean. Housekeeping knocked at 730 am. Of course, we were not ready for her. Most guests would still have been sleeping. We asked her to come back. When we came home at night, tired and eager to go to sleep, the room wasn't cleaned at all. We were told housekeeping had left for the day. We asked for fresh towels and for the garbage to be removed which they did right away.It was close to the subway and to almost everything.

Last year we chose this hotel for the queen beds, breakfast included, safe neighborhood & good price. This yr we returned for the same reasons plus the great staff, close subway access, local stores and dining options. Depending on which way you walk from the hotel door, you are 1 block from the subway access, from a grocery store, a drug store, an electronics store, and several good family resturants. I doubt we'll ever stay anywhere else when we return to New York City for future trips. On the possible downside, there is no swimming pool and a very small fitness room. Those features were not important to us but may be to someone else. There are no dining options in or adjoining the hotel but there are many choices nearby, including several that will deliver to the hotel.

Nicely located and well priced, complimentary breakfast is an added incentive.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn/Chelsea, and we were very pleased with the service, breakfast was good, rooms were comfortable and clean, not huge rooms, but fine since we were out all day. Good location, near art galleries, not far from Empire State Bldg. Ate at Empire Diner, very good, and also at Patsy's Pizzaria, very good also. A market close by with take-out was a plus. Uses subway system and felt safe and much quicker and cheaper than the cabs.

rooms are a bit small but if you are there to shop and play, this is a good value hotel. walk to times sqare, take a cab back for 5. bed was the most comfortable i have slept in ever. breakfast was good selection, hot foods, cereals, bagels, fruit. internet access, computer in lobby, helpful staff.

Very nice and relatively inexpensive place to stay in New York lower Manhatten. Close to everything. The only drawbacks were that the room was quite small and lacking fridge and microwave. Other than that - great place to stay.

Staff was rude on every level, except maid. Check in clerk was over the top rude and should all be fired. Nice hotel-good location in Chelsea if that is a desirable location. Hotel staff however is very rude and quite obviously hate their jobs and the customers they work with - this was true of EVERY person I dealt with at the hotel except the maid, who was very friendly and greeted me at all times. Check in staff should be fired, period.

hotel was in a quiet neighborhood with a Whole Foods Market one block away, many neighborhood restaurants nearby, subway station around the corner. Room was clean and comfortable, complimentary hot breakfast was good, with fresh fruit and orange juice, pastries, hot entrees. Had two queen beds - better than most hotels with two doubles. A long walk to Times Square, but cabs and subways are easy to catch.

This hotel was great! The rooms were clean, the staff very professional. The free breakfast was healthy. This was a family vacation and my husband and I had our three sons with us. It's not the best location to stay at being that you are so far away from Times square however, if you stayed closer you would have to pay more I'm sure. There is a star bucks right across the street, CVS pharmacy and whole foods. Also the little pizza place right on the corner same street as hotel was really good but closed at 8:30 p.m. Taxi rides were a bit high but then that's New York, stay with either the subway by getting a metro pass and learning the lines or go with yellow taxis and not black cars which really charge you a very high price. Bubba Gump Shrimp at Times Square was AWESOME! Another place to eat was located right beside the Empire State Building (beer place) which served some wonderful sweet potatoes and pork loin plus the waitress was very welcoming and accomdiating about my husband and I sharing a plate. Everyone we met was nice to us Southerners :)

Overall, a wonderful experience! Area directly outside of hotel is a little sketchy, but walk a few feet and you're in the mainstream. Hallways and elevators a bit lacking, but guest room and eating area very clean and well stocked.

Our room was very clean and the breakfast was really nice in the morning. Wasn't too happy about the location. Didn't feel very safe walking around the area at night. I thought this hotel was very nice. The room was clean and the staff was helpful. The location worked if you need to be in the Chelsea area but not much to do in the immediate vicinity. I would, however, highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is hidden away on a quiet street of Manhattan. It is small, rooms were very clean, breakfast was great and it was economical for being located in Manhattan.
