Very nice hotel in Old Town Alexandria's heart. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Only thing lacking was Fox News on TV.

The pictures in the elevators. The pool was outside and not open in the winter.

Traveling alone felt very safe. Only two blocks from King Metro Station which is less than a 10 min ride from Reagan National Airport. Front Desk helpful. Lots of variety for the Great Hot Breakfast. The lobby/dining area is small but managed quite well. Free use of two computers/printer with Internet was helpful so didn't have to drag laptop along. Room clean. Bed fine. Toilette not cleaned. Place was quite. The Perfect Pita next door to hotel. Business hours M-F and limited on Saturday. Otherwise the food is four/five plus blocks away.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Checking in late at night and desk clerk was very helpful. Breakfast was provided with room and they had an excellent breakfast with lots of options. Was within walking distance of the Old Town area with lots of restaurants and things to do. Easy access to Metro for getting to and from the DC area.

Room was clean and well appointed. There was a odd/strange smell in the room (not necessarily a bad smell) possibly from an air-filter/cleaner.

Location and service. Guest noise in the hallway. There were a couple of loud guests in the hallway late at night. The front desk person at the hotel addressed the issue promptly and apologized. Overall the stay was very nice and the service provided by the staff was excellent.

Just outside DC, in Old Town Alexandria, this hotel is in a GREAT location. We could easily get to all of the major sites in DC in about 20 minutes by walking just 2 blocks to the Metro station and heading north a few stops. Old Town Alexandria is a beautiful area full of fantastic restaurants and interesting antique shops. We spent each day touring the famous monuments, memorials, and museums of DC and each evening strolling the neighborhoods of Old Town enjoying great food and atmosphere. The Hampton Inn in Old Town Alexandria is an extremely clean hotel. The rooms are average size hotel rooms, with a couple of full-sized beds, a dresser, and a desk. Nothing huge or extravagant. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel has a fairly elaborate free breakfast each morning, more than just coffee and pastries. This made it extremely convenient to have a full stomach before we headed out for a full day of sightseeing. They also offer a sacked breakfast that you can take with you if you are in a hurry. The only down side to this hotel is the lack of room service. The first night we go there extremely late due to flight delays. Restaurants in the area were already closed. We had to settle for a sandwich from the vending maching. Since there are so many great restaurants nearby, this is not really a huge problem most of the time.

Hampton Inn Alexandria/Old Town ,VA This was a great stay!! It's located in the heart of Old Town .Free shuttle bus almost at the front door will take you to the heart of all restuarants and attractions (and the shuttle is free!!!). The hotel is extremely well maintained and very very clean. The staff is exceptional. As an added bonus breakfast is complimentary and its excellent>>>> lots of variety.I highly recommend this hotel and would visit again if I have the opportunity. Check it out next time you're in Old Town.

Loved the beds with the comfortable comforters!! We were there a couple days after Labor Day and the pool was covered for the season--- and it was hot. I loved the homey atmosphere, however was disappointed in the hot breakfast. Frankly, I would just skip the hot food as it was not very appetizing. Everything else about the hotel was great.

The Hampton Inn in Old Town was a great discovery. My boys and I chose Alexandria when we couldn't find a suitable room in DC. We are fond of Hampton for the free breakfast and other amnenities. It was right on King Street and a comfortable walk to all the eclectic shops and sights in Old Town. The pool was a great refresher before dinner. The only let down was the fitness center but with all the other good points, it really didn't matter. there was also convenient parking.

We lived in Alexandria for 18years. So I knew this location was great for the metro. Beware $10 per day parking fee. No refrig. in the room which would help in taking cold water downtown for sightseeing. Go to Hard Times for Chili which is 1 block away.

"Very hospitable employees in an attractive hotel, well kept up. Free breakfast was adequate. Great location, was within 4 minutes walk of the Metro station, and in a yuppie/trendy neighborhood. I would definately stay there again!!"
