The hotel is located near the trolly and visitors centers which makes it easy to plan and get around town. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Provides a complimentary breakfast. Staff is very pleasant.

What a great hotel! The staff couldn't have been better. Plus a great large room with a great view and excellent beds and pillows! Easy to find and accross the street from the visitor center. Comp. breakfast was great as well with a little bit of everything. Also coffee in the lobby 24/7 for us coffee hounds. Would love to go back

We wanted to stay downtown Charleston because our son was graduating from the College of Charleston. This hotel was great for us because it was just a short few minute walk from the college and great restaurants. We spent 4 days in the city and didn't need a car. We had a fabulous time.

Clean, comfortable, great location, excellent complimentary breakfast. A great location in walking distance to both the historic and shopping districts. The beds were comfortable and the complimentary breakfast had excellent choices. Pool and grounds are enclosed in an inner courtyard. Would stay again.

My husband and I stayed here with our 2-year-old daughter and we all enjoyed it. We were able to stash her stuff in the fridge behind the front desk. The breakfast was marvelous, something for all of our tastes. Everyone in the hotel was polite and helpful. The room was clean and the manager helped get our Internet connection working when it wouldn't reconnect on the second morning of our stay. Within good walking distance of most points of interest. Parking deck is right beside the hotel, so while free parking would have been ideal, at least we didn't have far to go to get to the car. I'm giving the "bed comfort" a 4 because neither of us slept well -- our mattress at home is firmer so it took us a while to get used to the softer bed.

Location is great, across from the visitor center and trolley stop for all routes. Get the DASH pass and explore all you want. Parking, however, was not free, but 12/night at the adjacent garage.

The staff was helpful, polite, and friendly. The beds were quite comfortable, the linens great quality. Loved the computer/business room. I would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast ends at 10:30 am, so for a vacationer that is a little early. I arrived and 10:35 and most of the food was put away. Even though I missed the breakfast, the staff was very nice and helped me put together a breakfast to take back to the room. A+ customer service. My fiancee and I decided on a last minute to have a long weekend in Charleston. The hotel was exceptional. Our room was spacious and clean with a view of the harbor. It is a short walk to King street where there is great shopping and restaurants. Our last Charleston hotel was a dump to say the least, so this was a nice surprise for a good price. We both love Charleston and we have found a new hotel home for our future visits.

Overall, everything was just average at best. Rooms and bathrooms need a facelift. Carpet really needs cleaning (smells odd). New beds were very comfy and linens were clean. Visited several other inns and hotels while in town. Better value to be found elsewhere if you look. Summary: Not as good as other Hamptons I've stayed at; could be improved by revamping rooms and offering more for what you pay. More bang for your buck can be found at other hotels and inns in the Historic District.

We came from Pa to enjoy an engagement party. We stayed here before and continue to return because everyone is so friendly and helpful. They bend over backward to make sure everything is perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Charleston.

The Hampton Inn Historic District was clean and conveniently located to see the sights of Charleston. It is in the upper end of the historic district but since Charleston is a very walkable city, it did not matter. The Visitor Center was right across the street and so was the Charleston Museum. The DASH shuttle stops across the street and there are shops and restaurants within walking distance. A full buffet breakfast is provided and amenities include internet access, a fitness room, and an outdoor pool. All in all, a comfortable experience.

The Hampton Inn was an ideal place to stay in Charleston. They had a very friendly staff and the hotel was well-maintained. The continental breakfast and 24 hour a day hot beverage counter was very nice. The visitor center was directly across the street as was a trolley car stop which allowed us to tour the city effortlessly. The neighborhood was also very safe to walk in and was just a short walk to the major avenues.

The Hampton Inn in Charleston's historic district was very comfortable. The management was friendly and helpful. The room was inviting and comfortable. The location is outstanding. The Hampton Inn is across the street from the Visitors Center and right on the trolley line. We parked the car and didn't have to move it except for some restaurants that were not in the historic district, although there were several excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

If you want to be part of the downtown scene, this hotel is ideal...and just a few feet from the main vistor center, where most of the organized tours left, was a godsend. You can walk anywhere. The room was small, but comfy [king bed], and the hot, full breakfast buffet was just wonderful. Wait staff friendly and helpful. Recommend.

Location was perfect - easy access from airport and major roads; right across the street from visitors'center -departure point for most city tours - and easy walk to historic district. Charming lobby, clean, very attractive and comfortable rooms (beds and pillows terrific), more than adequate self-serve breakfast and truly gracious staff. Staff went above and beyond allowing a friend who wasn't staying at hotel to stash her bags in their office while we toured the city. I couldn't have been happier with this hotel.
