The room was well appointed, but small. Check-in was long because the clerk was on the phone attempting to give directions to the hotel to someone looking for a room. I felt that he should have taken care of us, since we were there first, and asked the person to hold. It took us 10 minutes to get the room key.

Staff friendly bed comfortable. Breakfast bar small and food just OK hotel felt dated. Not as nice as many other Hamptons however bed was comfortable and staff was considerate.

My son and I were visiting RPI and enjoyed staying at the Hampton Inn in Cohoes. The room was clean, well lit, the beds were comfortable and the staff friendly. We also enjoyed the free internet and free breakfast. RPI was only 10 minutes away.

My wife and I stayed at the Hampton Inn located on New Loundon Road, Cohoes, NY in Dec 2007 and again in Dec 2008. While the rooms are generally clean and comfortable, an incident occurred this year that concerned us greatly. Around 2:30 a.m., while sleeping someone tried to enter our room. Fortunately, we had the privacy latch in place which did two things for us. First, it did not allow the person to enter our room and secondly, the noise when the door could not open caused us to wake up. When I approached the manager, his only explanation was that someone may have been issued the wrong key. I seriously questioned his explanation in that the person trying to enter the room, was completely out of sight when I got to the door. We know someone tried to enter in that the door was ajar.

Clean bathrooms with amenities. Hallways smelled of smoke. Very nice, good value.

When I got there they put me in a handicapped room. That entailed a shower that drained into the middle of the room. I asked to be moved, which they did but to a SMOKING room. Which I didn't like at all. This hotel is old, and it smells old. At one point my heater came on and it wouldn't turn off. I resolved the problem myself, but noticed that the filter on the AC/HVAC unit was filthy. I wouldn't stay here again, and I wouldn't advise anybody to stay here either.

Location, friendly staff. There was a spider in my room. The entire stay was great. The only complaint I have is on Monday morning, I went down to the desk and no one was there and it took a while for someone to finally show up. On the plus side, the girl who checked me in and helped me on Sunday afternoon, was great, friendly, and very professional.

"We found the hotel clean, the staff courteous and friendly. The location was convenient for our destination and in spite of being on a main road it was quiet. Excellent for the AARP rate. Buffet breakfast was very good."
