Lovely view. Lacked adequate air-conditioning. Salt water pool. Lacked closet space because the condo owners have built a storage locker for their things in the only closet. Close to beach, two strip malls across the street, great selection of restaurants close by. The lock on our door was broken but they had it repaired within two days of my FORMAL request.

Words could not explain how beautiful this place is. We spent the extra money and had a first floor condo. The condo grounds are very quite and well kept. You have a pick of different units. We stayed in 103. This unit was recently remolded and had everything you need for a beach vacation. The laundry room was clean and with plenty of machines available. The location of the cond unit is great. You are right on the beach and close to other Maui attractions.

The Hale Pau Hana is directly on a very nice, sandy and swimmable beach. The grass lounging area is supurb. It is a remarkable value for the money. The only thing we did not like is that only the bedroom is airconditioned. The two bathroom option is definitely worth it. The lanai was wonderful. Our friends moved to spend a week here from another condo place for this was nicer, cheaper and directly on the beach.

This was my first return to Hale Pau Hana after about 15 years. After trying various spots on 4 diff Hawaiian Islands over many years, this spot is still the tops. Perfect beach with great snorkeling at both ends of large beach, very well maintained complex, helpful staff, plenty of shops/restaurants nearby. I would rate this place over any other location on Maui (Kaanapali, Wailea, Napili, you name it). Also, importantly, the rates are actually lower than many other condos that have less to offer.

The Hale Pau Hana is one of the few properties in Kihei that is directly on the beach. We were in awe as soon as we saw our view outside our unit. Be aware that only the bedrooms have AC in every unit. The property is centrally located to everything you need -- dining, shopping, groceries are all in walking or short driving distance. The staff was very friendly and courteous with us. We would definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for a comfortable and affordable condo that is literally steps away from the ocean and a beauitiful, sandy beach, this is the place for you. Every unit faces the ocean providing gorgeaous views from the living room,dining room and kitchen of the condo and from the private patio. Unfortuantely, the bedrooms are in the back of the condo, but you can still fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean if you leave the patio door open. The condo is located in Kihei, which is considered the sunny side of the island, and is adjacent to Wailea, where the more expensive and exclusive resorts are located. Kihea is a pleasant small town with plenty of good resturants and shops, plus it is convenient for various sight seeing drives around the island. Be clear that this is not a fancy resort where staff will wait and serve you...these are self contained, privately owned condo units that offer you many of the same comforts of home, are nicely, but simply furnished, and provide as much privacy or socialization as you like. So if sitting on your private patio listening to the waves, snorkeling off your own private beach, and taking relaxed strolls appeals to you, consider the Hale Pau Hana. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Hale Pau Hana is where we chose to stay on our honeymoon. Worried that we would not have an ocean view, to our surprise..all rooms are not only 100% ocean view, but we were right on the ocean. To sit on our lanai and watch the infamous hawaiin sunset was an experience in itself. Centrally located and away from the big tourist destination. If you want a place to relax and leave all worries behind, the Hale Pau Hana is the perfect spot!!!
