reviewI was a little disappointed with this hotel. Its no good if your a business traveller as the hotel has no internet and because of its location your mobile wont have a signal. I have to travel for about 10minutes before i could use my phone. The main reason i booked the hotel was because of the swimming pool. But on the night i stayed it was closed. I also ordered a paper for the next morning which the receptionist forgot to order for me. Final moan is that the bath in the room was disgusting. The pain was flaking off and there was hairs in the bath. On a positive note the hotel is in gorgeous settings, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast was nice.

Although a last minute booking it was just what we were looking for. A lovely oldy worldly hotel with a super view from our window over the lake and gardens. Our room was delightful and beds extremely comfortable.The staff were friendly.A good choice for breakfast.Drinks were expensive in the bar however!

At discounted rate (£70), reasonable value for money.Beautiful location. We were in 'garden room' in seperate building.TV not functioning, only one channel. No water pressure so shower inadequate. Breakfast Ok but wouldn't have paid £15 for it. Some areas in need of some refurbishment. Nice lounge/bar area with open fire.Good for quick getaway, not particularly recommended for special occasion.

Very disappointed with level of room for a supposed 'rack rate' of £155 per night. Basically one of the least used of the available rooms. Housed in an old stable block with cobwebs across the room doorway, a tired attempt at a Country Hotel setting. Food service was ok but dod feel a bit old-fashioned. May suit the area, but as I was passing through on business, was really looking for something a bit better quality. Oh, and there's no mobile phone reception in the hotel grounds either!
