The staff was extremely frendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel was a tradtional Mexican Hacienda,very warm and comfortable. We spent 14 nights there and it soon grew to feel like our home away from home. A short cab ride to 5th Ave and all of the fine restaurants of downtown Playa Del Carmen. A short walk to the golf course club house to play 18 holes on one of most beautiful courses you'll ever see. We recommend it highly.

The lobby was great. Farther from town then we would have liked. Only issue was distance from town. There was construction with heavy equipment that ran all night so we had to keep all the doors and windows shut.

This is a very difficult location to get to. You do need to rent a car and even then, you need proper directions which are hard to find. Once you are there, you will find that you'll need other options for food as this place does not offer variety. Hacienda does have a beautiful spa that is free of charge for all the "wet" areas, which includes an outdoor pool on the roof of the building and another on the lower floor with jets.(We had to discover this on our own) They don't advertise this, but should, as it may appeal to others.

The buffet dinner was excellent. The service was shoddy; the building I was in was 500 YDS or more from beach, no hot water, and broken light. The hotel is a large complex under construction. The pool, stores, buffet (French, Italian and Mexican specialty restaurants are also available) were excellent. The service was very poor and unprofessional all around. Workmen interrupted our stay by knocking on our door to repair a none essential light. The water in our shower would not heat up-when we called the front desk they told us the same problem occurred the day before and they would resolve it. It was not resolved before we left. The hotels increase the rate on behalf of the taxi drivers to help them out. We negotiated a better price individually with the taxi driver that still paid him handsomely while not gouging us. .

First my flight was delayed so the courtesy shuttle was not available. We took a taxi to the resort. The resort was located well away from Playa del Carmen. Upon arriving we learned the ?non included? items in the all inclusive: all premium beverages, juice bar, room service, spa (expected) steak and lobster. Upon entering our room we were informed the mini bar would be stocked daily. Seeing as we had 4 guests we asked that the amounts be doubled, but were denied. The entire week we were there our ice maker did not work. We also learned the beach was under maintenance and we would be shuttled at no charge to another location and would be given an allowance of $ per person to make up for the fact that our all inclusive was not honored at this location (they conveniently forgot to honor this at check out). Not equitable by any math. We called the front desk for a taxi one morning only to wait 20 minutes before learning the taxi was never requested. Our breakfast was incorrectly prepared everyday; we did not receive a correct or complete order a single time. There was no soap or sponges with which to wash dishes, or use dishwasher, but for an additional charge. The only upside to this terrible experience was the evening staff. They went out of their way to service us as we know RCI Gold Crown Resorts are known for. They also showed us the hospitality we love about Mexico. All in all, my friends & family and the evening staff were what made this vacation worth while.

This is the perfect hotel for those looking for a small, luxurious alternative to an all-inclusive resort. Our single room was really nice. The spa attached to the hotel, which you get access to, is simply amazing. The staff in the spa, at the hotel and in the restaurants were all very friendly, always letting us take our time during meals and helping wherever they could. The food was great, too! All in all, very highly recommended. We'd go back in a second.

A beautiful hotel and property. Beds are very hard. Hard mattress on a platform bed. Arriving at night, the hotel was difficult to find. It is situated in a residential, condo area of playa car and not marked well. The property and the hotel are beautiful, surrounded by lush vegetation, located on a golf course. We were fortunate to be upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom suite which was huge and nicely furnished. (My only complaint was a very hard bed, although I have found this other places in the Yucatan) the hotel and restaurant staff was friendly and very helpful. Although we were only there for one night, we enjoyed the experience and would stay there again. The next time I would take advantage of the beautiful spa facilities located on the property.

Hacienda Vista Real was a very beautiful resort. The grounds were gorgeous. The only complaint was that it was too cold with the air conditioning on. We had to turn it off in the evening. The temperature stayed cool all night, though, because of all the marble in the room.

"Talk about bang for the buck! We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Spectacular 3 story Spa w/ large warm sea water pool. Beautiful decor along with spa tub and Vegas like hotel interior. When planning your visit, consider not paying the high prices of an all inclusive and feel confined/obligated because of the amount of $ spent. Instead, go visit 5th Ave to get the authentic local flavor. "

"We have been to this resort twice and cannot wait to go back again. On our first trip, there were four, our second trip we decided to bring our entire family (14); with either group the staff was accommodating and attentive. The spa is amazing, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, food incredible and great service (our group of 14 kept them very busy, especially at the pool bar). The private beach is 30 min. away due to road construction, but worth the trip. Everywhere you look there is art and tranquil views. It is the place for true R&R. "
