It was the only hotel available in the Santa Barbara area available. The motel has seen better days in my opinion they need to refurbish the whole place. The location was not bad; you’re somewhat close to everything in the Santa Barbara area.

My extended family has a Santa Barbara reunion every year. I was in charge of hotel and restaurant reservations. I visited 13 hotels in Santa Barbara Area and Chose Hacienda Motel.They did not disappoint!. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The bathroom were all new with nice bathtub and shower, granite vanity top, hair dryer, coffee maker ...The best part was the staff, they were friendly, suggested a restaurant, treat us like family, and the price shocked all of the out of town folks, who have paid much more in last few years in Santa Barbara reunion for lesser accomodations. I would stay here again.

Good location. Furniture was a little dirty. This hotel was okay. The rooms were mostly clean, except for some stains in the drawers of the dresser. The gentleman working at the front desk was nice enough, but he has a very smelly bulldog that is behind the desk with him. It almost made me throw up when I went in to the small lobby area to check in. I'm sure he is so used to the smell that he doesn't recognize it, but it stinks!

Do not stay here! I was with my husband & small child & felt like we were staying in a crack den. I did not feel comfortable or safe at all. If it were earlier we would have found another location however it was a very late check in. We had to get buzzed into the lobby & the buzzer, lobby, desk & floor were filthy! The desk clerk (or maybe owner) appeared from a back room with a TV blaring & other voices could be heard (creepy). Outside of our room on the balcony was an old couch seemily left there .. thus the crack den feeling. The room smelled of smoke and was very musty. The rug was dirty & so was the floor in the bathroom. When I picked up a towel to wash my face it had tar stains on it & was dirty! I was so disgusted that I couldn't bring myself to sleep under the sheets for fear of lice, bed bugs, etc. that I slept on top of the bed with my own pillow & blanket! I advise online travel website to remove this hotel from thier list immediately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
