Decent location. Attractive inside. Room key had to be left in a key holder on wall to operate any electrical light, outlet, and the A/C! You need euro electrical outlet adapter to operate US made items, computer, charger, hair-dryer, etc. Nice location, once you figure out where you actually are.

The HCC Montblanc is located on the border between Barri Gotic and El Born. It's a 5 minute walk from La Rambla, Placa Catalunya, and a Metro line. Take 15 or 20 and you can walk to Port Vell (Old Port). The hotel staff is super nice and (important for Americans like me who tend towards monolingualism) speak English.Downside: the beds are hard. At least ours were. Our bathroom was spacious, though the tub was not made for chunky folks. Stick to showers and you'll be fine. HCC Montblanc makes up for it, however, with a breakfast buffet.

Central City Location with poolGood central location about 5 mins from Las Ramblas and main square for airport bus. Pool area clean. Walls a little thin so you can hear next door showering but not to annoying. Food & drink available round pool - a real treat on a city break. Have used hotel previously and will definately use again.

It was just okay... When we were checking in an american couple who was robbed asked for help at the front desk and were told to go down the street. EVERYONE at the hotel seemed to have been robbed. It's a real shame. Breakfast is outrageously priced and laundry is extra, safe is extra, and internet only worked part of the time. Not enough towels or chairs at the pool and no outside resfreshments. It was just okay.

Within walking distance of many convenient tourist areas. Very busy. I found the location and the security were above my expectations. I enjoyed my stay tremendously.

I was a little nervous about booking this hotel because it was only rated with 3 stars. This hotel definitely deserves 4 stars! The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Nothing to fancy about the rooms and the pillows are a little flat. The staff were great, all spoke english and sent things to the room upon request. There are safety deposit boxes in the rooms - but you have to pay extra. The sundeck and pool are really nice - just know the hours 11am-7pm. The value of this hotel is fantastic given its location - it's right in the heart of the action! I would definitely stay here again.

Nice little hotelThis hotel is primarily in a great location (1 of the reasons we picked it in the 1st place) - just off Placa Catalunya. Though the rooms are a bit tired (could do with a bit of a refurb) it was all very clean & the little pool & terrace were handy if you needed a cooldown after a long day sightseeing in Barca. The bar & piano player were a nice touch also.

The hotel was conveniently located near Plaza Catalunya. We arrived on a flight from Menorca and the hotel was able to accomodate us even though we arrived early (noonish). The staff was helpful and provided suggestions on sites we should visit.

We selected this hotel because of location. It is close to many things, including Catalunya Placa where all subways cross, the Rambla, many Gaudi building, Bari Gothic, and the Airporter, cheap & fast transport to/from airport w/i 2 blocks of hotel. Small standard European room, ours had view of air shaft, shower excellent, caters to groups though, try Pan for breakfast up the street. Pool great but open only 11-7.

Excellent position 10 minutes from Las Rambla and an easy walk to the gothic quarter. Lobby very smart. The staff were very helpful. The room was a good size and very clean. Shower was great and bathroom spacious. There are plenty of tapas bars nearby. There is a small pool and courtyard area which was very enjoyable after a hard days walking. Not a great view out the back but you are in the very centre of Barcelona which I put at a higher value. All in all we were very pleased with our stay and would not hesitate to stay at the Montblanc again. This is an amazing city and the Catalan people are very nice and friendly. Thanks to all at the HCC Montblanc Hotel.

Was very happy with this hotel. It was within walking distance of many spots. Restarants in the area were plentiful and very good. Service was great. We had a room in the back so it was quiet.

Solid and popular 3 star hotelFor what this is (a 3 star hotel), it meets all the necessary criteria and probably more. The location is excellent (6min walk to Placa Catalunya and the start of Barri Gotic). There are plenty of eateries around and the area is safe. The hotel itself appears to be very popular and the staff at reception are always busy but helpful. The rooms are spacious, the furniture is a little dated but fine. The bathrooms are good. There is nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about either. For the price we got the room at (between 75 euros and 105 euros) it was good value for money. The breakfast was not included and at 17euros per head, I think they must be targeting the corporate card rather than your everyday traveller. There is a pool but we didn't use it.Be sure to request a non-smoking room if you prefer one. As the hotel was fully booked when we stayed, our room was on a smoking floor. The smell of smoke permeates everything and you know exactly when one of your neighbours has lighted up (which is often in Europe). They are baby friendly. but again - a non smoking floor is important. Also, double beds are twin beds pushed together though I was told there are proper double beds. (We had requested one, but I think again, due to the last minute booking and the fact they were fully booked, we were not able to get one). No biggie, but when you are travelling with a baby, sometimes a proper double bed can make a big difference. I would say that this hotel is good for the price we got it at and for what it is: a solid 3 star hotel. I would recommend it/ stay here again, if we (or friends) were working with the same budget. There were quite a few groups of friends and people of all ages staying here, who appeared to be having a good experience.

I was traveling with my two teen girls age 14. We stayed at Montblanc based on recommendations from Orbitz and other online sites. We stayed two nights -- before and after a cruise. The hotel was incredibly convenient to La Rambles and the main point to check the hop-on/hop-off. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent and authentic -- with wonderful sangria too! The main desk clerk also assisted us with reservations for a Flamenco show that was outstanding. This hotel, in my opinion, is one of the best values in the city.

The restaurant was very good value for money. Both the buffet breakfast and the a la carte dinners were excellent and good value for money.

The HCC Montblanc was located near two metro lines and was walking distance of La Rambla. The break fast each day could not have been better. It included cereal, pastries of all kind, many varieties of fruit, yogurt, various rolls and bread which could be toasted or warmed, cheese, breakfast meats, and hot eggs could be ordered. The bathroom was clean with marble floors and walls and the shower had great pressure.
