Enjoyable stay Recently stayed at H10 Montcada, lovely hotel and the roof terrace is great. Breakfast in the morning is well worth the money as full english available, as well as fruit, cold meats etc., The room we were in was right on the front so rather noisy as busy main road outside, but was decorated to high standard and robe and slippers was nice touch. Don't get there too early as rooms are not available till 3.00 pm in the afternoon. Gothic quarter is just across the road so close to all amenities. Would definately recommend for short stay but take some ear plugs to get some sleep!!

Great location, not so great service. Was transfered to another hotel as the room was not available, with no compensation for the hassel. Also had a hard time with the staff in any language trying to get my cash back for the taxies required for the transfers.

Wonderful stay at Hotel H10 MontcadaI highly recommned this hotel for a short stay in Barcelona. It's in a great location with friendly and helpful staff. A couple of days before arrival I requested a room as high as possible which they granted by putting us on the 7th floor (there are 8). Although you could still hear the tube faintly rumbling below, we slept fine. The glass of cava and the free drink for the roof top bar were lovely extras and the room was perfect for us and not too small at all. Shower was good and bathroom clean. The biggest plus is it's proximity to local tapas eateries, bars and boutiques on Carrer de L'Argenteria and Las Ramblas. All of the tapas places were serving good food and not at tourist rip-off prices (as in Rome and Paris). We honestly felt like we were mingling with the locals and not being taken for mugs as toursits. The hotel staff actually recommended strolling down Carrer de L'Argenteria which was a fresh welcome rather than having some restaurant recommended purely because they would benefit from it. I would definitely stay in this hotel again and intend to come back soon! It was a wonderful trip made so by this hotel. Another tip would be to book as early as you can - we booked very early in March for a July stay and got a good deal. I saw prices shoot up in June.

Conveniently located in the Gothic Quarter, only a block away from the Barcelona Cathedral. Close to subway station. Helpful, friendly staff. Great view of the city from the rooftop lounge. The lounge was a nice place to have tapas and drinks in the evening to relax. Was surprised there was no assistance in getting bags to your room but elevator access was adequate. Rooms were air conditioned. There were a few shortcomings in the room but it may have been because they allowed us to check in well ahead of the normal 3:00PM check-in time. The beds were extremely hard and there are no queensize available. We inadvertently booked a room with one double bed. The staff was very accomodating in exchanging it for a room with two doubles at no extra cost.

Great breakfast! Didn't know about it before we got there. Small room but comparatively inexpensive; was not offered a larger one. Great location for walking and getting around on the subway to all the Gaudy attractions and others as well. For the price, it was perfect.

1 night stay at this hotelThe hotel was very central and a good location for the busy part of the town. The room was very noisy though with small rooms. This was to be expected with a busy road outside and the underground so near. The bed was also quite hard and on wheels. Overall ok for 1 night stay. I would however say the roof top terrace was fantastic and the food was all very good in the restaurant.

This was a nice place to stay to see everything in Barcelona. We walked to almost everything in the city (including the beach) and there are tour buses for day trips within walking distance too. The rooftop bar was nice, when open and available, but the view is SO NICE, that the limited opening times are worth it (it may be closed for private parties on the weekends which they called 'technical difficulties' - ha ha). The rooftop jacuzzi use has limited free hours as well (around noon and all day Monday), but it has the same nice view. Free breakfast buffet was a surprise. It is in the basement restaurant, but has a good mix of items. There are also two computers to use in the lobby, to check email and such. Staff was friendly and helpful. You can also purchase a message or simple spa treatment at the hotel. Definitely worth the price we paid.

The hotel staff was great in doing their job. The problem starts in your own web page. The rooms you depicted are suites and not the regular rooms. When I requested the hotel and looked at the picture of the rooms, it was a mayor point, since on previous trips i have found the european hotel rooms are very small. So, when i decided to book throu your service I relayed on the accuracy of what you show on your page. I was sadly dissapointed, we found a very small room, and when we spoke to the front desk about whats on your page and what they offer. Their answer was, it is not our advetising, sorry. The price paid for the type of room received, does not match at all. On the other hand we booked also for this trip a room athe the Hilton next to the airport for just one nigth and the room was amazing, and the it cost half of what we paid for the room at the Montcada Hotel. I would seriously consider using you as a refernce in the future. I felt that your web page missled me into getting a product of a certain quiality and standard, and I didnt

I thought the staff where very friendly and helpful. They phoned a restaurant on my behalf to check if my phone , (which I had lost, was there). They constantly helped with problems I had with opening the room door, (swipe card), and nothing was too much trouble. The room was small, but adequate, with a nice bathroom and good shower. The food at buffet breakfast was v. good. The value for money was excellent overall, and i would have no trouble in rebooking this hotel again, as it is also very central to city centre.

The location is amazing. Walking distance to everything. About 20min from the airport 23Euros. You can walk to the beach or take a taxi(5min,6Euros) to Icaria beach. You can walk to Las Ramblas(a beautiful and happening street). Don´t be afraid to walk around your hotel, there are amazing hidden street and Barcelona never sleeps so don´t even hink about coming home before 4am. PS: the reaon why I said it´s noisy is because we were on the 4th floor next to a very happening street but oh well get earplugs.

Hotel is ideally placed for access to the waterfront/marina area or La Rambla/Place de Catalunya etc. Staff were particularly helpful and the facilities good. No complaints at all.

A thoroughly good hotel - fantastic breakfasts such that we really did not need to eat again all day! Staying a few days is perhaps why we were given a larger room than expected from previous reviews. It was very spacious on 7th floor - great views. All in all a very welcome surprise and would recommend it to anyone. We'll be back!

What a great location to see sights from. Room was very clean, and quiet, although on a major street. Just a few blocks from the Main Church, sqares, walking mall, small sides streets. The english speaking staff were very courteous, and helpful for us. They kept our luggage until check in time, in a secure room. The next time we visit we will stay here. I have already reccomended the hotel to a fellow travler. As someone else already had mentioned, the breakfast was outstanding, and is still good. We were there in March 2009.

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to most places. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are somewhat small but manageable. The cleanliness of the hotel is excellent. The hotel is on a main road so the traffic can be a distraction. Great views of the city from the rooftop terrace.Overall, a very pleasant stay.

The H10 Montcada is located on Via Laietana, a main drag which slices right through the Old City and is a block or two from the Cathedral, which is at the very heart of old Barcelona and the sights there. In addition, a stop on the Metro is right outside the door, and its an easy walk (if you don't want to take the metro) to the Estacio de Franca which has train service directly into the airport. The port is also within easy walking distance, and you can take a longer walk to get to some of the in-city beaches, or use the Metro line for a click or two to get even closer. There are innumerable restaurants, cafeterias, bars, coffee shops, bakeries and even small food stores all around the area, so you don't have to go far to get a meal, a snack or some take-out. The hotel itself has a rather complete self-serve breakfast every morning from 7 to 10:30 for its guests. They correctly claim to have 60 items everyday, and you can get anything from a bowl of cold cereal all the way to a hot plate with eggs and a variety of meats and cheeses, and they always bring you a carafe of coffee or tea. It has a lounge in the lobby where you can get, at certain times of the day, either a drink or light food - I had a ham and cheese sandwich and it was delicious. It also opens its restaurant at night for dinner; I tried this once but the restaurant itself was closed and the dinner was served in the lobby lounge, which I found to less than a great atmosphere, nor did I think my meal was very good. (In fairness, Barcelona seems to thrive on seafoods, which I don't eat.) The hotel also has a patio lounge on its 10th floor roof where you get a fine view, and its a great place to watch the sunset or catch the breeze coming in from the sea while having a beer or glass of wine. They also have a jacuzzi up there, which is open during the day. The location of this hotel is brilliant. The La Rambles, the shopping and the port are all a short walk away. It was very clean with a cool roof bar. Only downside was the room was tiny.
