1. Our reservation via Active Hotels did not reach the reception desk of the H10 Itaca hotel in Barcelona, though it was done well in advance. I do not know which institution is “guilty” - Active Hotels or H10 staff. Fortunately this problem was solved by the smart guy at the reception, but the fact itself is disappointing (what if there were no free rooms). 2. Room was very small and noisy, overlooking the main street. Of course, in principle one could close the window, and to switch on the ventilation by AC. Unfortunately the noise of the buzzing AC was on the same level as that of the noisy street. 3. The room service was careless. One day we had to ask for the shampoo, etc. 4. There are no carpeting on the floors. It is itself uncomfortable, but the main problem was that the staff usually started cleaning the neighboring rooms very early (even at about 7), loudly sliding the beds, and producing a lot of noise that could be heard in our room. 5. The breakfast was okay, but not extraordinary. We have tasted better ones even in the 3-star hotels. 6. Very expensive for the quality (125 Euros for the small and noisy room). 7. In general, the quality of the hotel is at about 3-star level, and for sure does not reach 4 stars.

Champagne reception was lovely. Would definitely stay here again. Was a bit disappointed that the jacuzzi was out of order.

Good clean modern hotel. Lots of traffic noise in street but well insulated. Nice welcome with glass of champagne and nibbles. Slightly pretentious but don't let that put you off.

Great place for a city break, convenient location close to metro, nice buffet breakfast.

Very small room - luckily there was only one person in the room. Breakfast ok - but hot food was cold. Staff efficient. Close to main railway station - Sants Estacio - and to Metro but not close to main tourist sites and central Barcelona - have to use Metro - about 5 stops to Placa Catalunya. Lots of local restaurants in the area. Overall - I wouldn't stay here again if I returned to Barcelona.

H10 Itaca Barcelona May 2009I found this hotel very easy to find and within easy reach of the city centre. The metro station us merely a 5min walk and overall my experience was great. The staff were very helpful when asked anything from information about what to do, etc I would recommend to book with this hotel, the rooms are reasonably sized, very clean and modern. I was pleased with my booking.

Excellent hotel. My partner & I stayed 3 nights. Great location - only 4 minutes walk from railway station, Sans Estacio. Nice quiet area. Felt safe. Good supermarket adjoined to hotel - really cheap wine etc. A few shops nearby. We got really good deal with minimum of 3 nights B & B. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were very comfortable, with nice bathroom. Only fault was very early cleaning of other rooms wakened us up every morning. Would return to this hotel, as we did not see a fraction of what we wanted to see in Barcelona. Fabulous city.
