Beautiful location, very relaxing, great food, great spa. Expensive, but definitely a worthwhile splurge for special occasions.

Very cozy accomodations (in the historic section of the facility). Thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas Eve festivities in the main lobby. Excellent Christmas buffet in the Blue Ridge. Only regret not having time to enjoy the spa; will have to return for a mid-winter spa retreat!

The lobby and outer grounds of the hotel are beautiful, unique and historic. The room we stayed in was mediocre but comfortable. We stayed in the older part of the hotel. The Grove Park hotel is beautiful especially because of its lobby, outside grounds and for its spa. The stone fireplaces and beautiful porches with mountain views are breathtaking. Some parts of the hotel are somewhat tired and could use a gentle makeover. Service was excellent.

Maybe it was ""the spot"" during F, Scott Fitzgeralds time but it needs much improvement now for what they charge you. I have never paid so much and gotten so little.

The restaurants were wonderful. The hotel staff were rude and very unprofessional. We were spending our 51st wedding anniversary at this hotel and the first room they sent us to was extremely noisy. The second room they sent us to did not have a view of anything but air conditioners and side of building. The third room they wanted to give us had a bed that pulled out from the wall. Never again will we go back there. The front desk people were rude and uncaring.

Have stayed at MANY resorts and thought this was one of the best. Beautiful view, location, spa, restaurant and lobby. Love the arts and crafts deco. A unique place to stay and alot for your money.

I have stayed at this place over a dozen times. It is VERY kid friendly. The workout facility is better than any other place I have stayed and the spa is fantastic. Really fantastic. Stay in the historic section. Rooms are small but charming. Anyways, in a place like this, you shouldn't be in your room that much. The corner rooms in the historic section are much larger than the non-corner rooms. You can find great deals on the web for this place.

If you like old world charm and the service that comes with it, this is the place to stay. Make sure you stay in the old section. That is the area with the most charm. The spa is amazing. The grounds, breathtaking. Worth whatever they charge.
