Unpretentious. Did exactly what a hotel should do. A clean, comfortable room where everything worked ,very friendly efficient breakfast, great traditional atmosphere in the dining room.

Lovely view from our room, perfectly situated very close to the sea front. Clean room, very friendly helpful staff! The only less positive comment I could make is that some of the hotel could do with a lick of paint and some TLC but it was fantasic value for money and we will definately be staying agian!

Good price, Breakfast could be betterArrived early, so had to come back at 1.30pm. Check-in went ok. Parking is a extra £3 for 4 days which is a good price but please remember the £3 gets you street parking with a permit only and not off the street so avalibility maybe a issue if other people park there if you decide to go anywhere in the car. If your staying and going to park the cark after 2pm and leave early morning the normal parking disk will do the trick for free. The shower could do with tender loving care as the door on the cubicle was broken and we had to be very carefull when trying to close it. the usual coffee and tea were in the room but no buiscuits which would have been nice. Overall if your looking for the ritz for £35 your not going to find it here, but on a positive note a clean room with tea and coffee and a very good bed to sleep in with no noise did the trick for us. Staff are very friendly. The breakfast was served up fast so no waiting and started with a fresh orange juice followed by tea or coffee and a avarage breakfast and toast and jam. If you want more toast they will make some for you. Overall a very good price for the 3rd july 2009 £35 + £3 parking

Worst hotel in a few years we have stayed inArrived ok, location great.Parking - on street parking, and not secure and possibly not avalible if during the dayBar closed - despite hotel full - and full of hen parties at thatResturant closed - no sigen of anyone or any foodno breafast avalible - despite requestRoom would have been better if it had been cleaned ( shower and tilet still had "stains" and "hairs" )Bed lumpy and oldNo internet connection avalible - was told could use socket - but that turned out to bemains power !No sat TV - just 1-4only one spoon provided for tea / coffee for family room ? why ? could not find owner after 9pm to ask.Lovely town, location good, hotel poor - could have been so much better wih just a little effort.Shame about the hen and stag parties and cleninesss.

good value low cost stayFound the hotel to be very reasonably priced, room was clean, food was fine. pros: cheap. Clean room. Friendly service. Food was quite good. Quiet part of town.Cons: Bit of a trek to town/beach not suitable for those wanting to be in middle of crowdy town life.

Great value at Granville if you are not too fussyThis was a surprisingly comfortable stay in Scarborough . The staff were helpful and pleasant. Room was adequate enough for our needs for two nights stay . Pity there was no cereal for breakfast , however freshly brewed coffee was good ( not all bargain guest houses offer this ) . We would stay there again .

Charming B&B close to Scarborough's attractionsThe staff were pleasant and helpful and the hotel/B&B was close to both the beach and the city centre. The rooms were charming but a bit old. Free parking just outside of the hotel.

Granville Lodge ScarboroughGood location.Friendly staff (owners?) very helpful with parking etc., Breakfast was great with very fast service.Room was bright and spotlessly clean, the towels changed even though we were only there for 2 nights.Size-wise the room was OK for 2 , with TV and coffe/tea making facility.Appearance-wise the hotel is a bit 'Olde Worlde', as are most hotels in Scarborough, but the rooms have been modernised to a high standard. All in all, especially when you consider the price, I give it 10/10.Highly recommended.

Good for the priceNice pleasent man on front desk which was good start. Rooms are basic and the buliding is old which meant a bit of road noise was heard through windows. Clean tidy and well worth the money. Ideal for couple of night stay.
