The Hotel was magnificent and the staff were phenomenal. This Hotel truly lives up to the name Grand!

We just returned from a 7 day stay at the Grand Wailea. Our room was lovely as were the grounds and the pools. Everybody was very nice. Having the Shops at Wailea within walking distance was fun and convenient. Thanks for a great experience! Savage, Minnesota

I've always heard of the Grand Wailea from friends but this was my first time. The resort definiltey lived up to my expecations. Definitely treat yourself to a spa treatment at the Grand Wailea Spa which includes an hour of hydrotherapy before the service. I dipped in and out of the baths, showers and hot tubs and was already fully relaxed prior to my massage. After your treatment, relax even more on the lanai overlooking the beach. I felt truly pampered!

Everyone on staff treated us like we were so important. NA. The staff was superior to anywhere else we have stayed. The grounds and lobby were breath taking. The quality of this hotel was superb. I will recommend this hotel over and over to friends and family.

We had a great time in Maui. The Hotel was beautiful, our room looked towards the ocean and enjoyed it very much. Front desk very friendly and rooms service was quick. The only negative thing we can say, it is a bit pricey. I think we would stay there again if website had another great deal.

Really quick trip as I was island hopping and this was a splurge at the last minute. Loved the pool, facilities and the most incredible spa experience! I could have spent hours in the spa, wished I would have had even more time!

Breathe taking scenery, beautiful room, and outstanding staff. Nothing. If you have high expectations for your Hawaiian vacation, the Grand Wailea will meet them! You are going to have to open your wallet. But just set a high budget ahead of time and don't torture yourself during your stay. This is the perfect place to rekindle a romance or add fuel to one that is already going!

Our room wasnt available when we checked in and that seemed to be a common problem as you would often see groups of tired hot families sitting in the lobby unable to do anything till the room was ready and they could change. I liked all the restaurants , especially Humunukunukuauipua. the pool area is great fun, which is good as there isnt alot to do if you dont snorkle or fish. I was dissapointed in the cleaning staff, the bathroom was never really cleaned well. And there was alot of mold in the shower which is a personal pet peeve of mine at hotels. We had dinner twice next door at the Four Seasons and it was awfully nice. the childrens club is fun, but nothing special from what I could see, or the feedback from my child. Dont think it would be my first choice if going back to Maui.

The pool. If it wasn't for the pool, this hotel would have much less of a draw. They can charge those prices because people want to experience the pool and that is the only way to play in it. The rest of the hotel is great - beautiful lobby and wonderful facilities, but it should not be the most expensive hotel I have ever stayed at.

We were there on business first part of my stay and then pleasure. Spa is great, very relaxing, and best massage I've ever had. Meeting space is large. All of our meetings were close by and rooms large enough to accommidate without feeling tight. Food is very good in all the restaurants. Expensive as most restaurants are in Hawaii. The pool area was great, very crowded but fun. We will return.

i just returned from the hotel. It was recommended when we said we were going to Maui. It is overpriced and there are a lot of hidden cost. Be prepared for that. They charge daily fee of * for housekeeping. Our room was cleaned 1 day that I was aware of. The other days they just swapped the towels. I was told they cleaned two times a day for the daily fee we were charged. There is also a 10 dollar per person portage fee for carrying your bags (and of course you have to tip too). Our room was not ready so we had to take our bags to someone else's room until it was ready and we carted our own bags to our room. We also loaded them ourselves when we checked out. Make ure you rent a car so you can eat off the premises. The restaurants at he hotel are very pricey. It will pay for itself on what you save on meals. Bring your own drinks. You can get a mini fridge for * during your stay. The rooms are very standard. I stayed for a good rate with a group but some in our group paid the higher group rate and had the same room as me. The grounds are very nice and we enoyed the pool and the beach. Be prepared to spend a lot of money.

The grounds were incredible, the wide open air lobby and artwork throughout the resort were breathtaking. The tile was swept but not mopped well. The spill-stains were evident through the lobby and on our room's lanai. Overall, The Grand Wailed is a true upscale experience. Kids of any age will love the pools. The pools are really a fantastic water park! Our room was extremely large and comfortable. The ocean view was the best we've ever had. Wailed is more secluded than Kannapolis, but there are good restaurants nearby at the Shops of Wailed.

My husband won a "mostly-paid-vacation" for a week (air, Hotel, a coule of meals) from his company: the kind you can't afford to take, but you can't afford Not to take...we are people of modest means and we chose to enjoy ourselves by our standards, not other people's, so I rearranged the lanai to our liking (we were on the ground floor) and bought groceries locally: the result? Absolute BLISS with a homemade breakfast from the skillet I brought (very handy!) of local bacon & eggs. We added poke (Po'-Kay: seaweed from the local market. Yum!), hot buttered bread with jam and hot tea all on place settings and tableware we purchased locally and then had later as a souvenier of our stay. We enveloped ourselves in the pleasant morning air as we looked out on the Chapel, onto the Ocean. The staff were friendly, offering up their lists of closeby grocery stores, where they go for fun, the dolphin cruises, the sunset cruises, the Road to Hana(-DO IT!!), the cheapest gas (hey...gas is gas...Why pay full-price for arental?), the local tattoo parlors (State licensed, Very clean) and the not-so-touristy-places to have a nice dinner. It's how I found the Kahuna playing a drum for his lady who taught authentic hula dances on Weds by the Banyon tree (the 4 and 5 year-olds were precious and the older ones really helped the younger ones). The hotel is laid back and ready to help in an instant. The Only drawback was the one night we decided to order in: $45.00 (before the tip...) for a small pizza to be delivered. I'd do it all over again (hhhmmm....maybe not the pizza) and love every minute of it! They are still repairing the tarmac from my fingernails! Somebody-Please take me with You!;o)

Very nice location, beautiful grounds/surroundings, too many children, way over priced. A room at *+/night with another */day resort charge (amungst other added charges like */day parking). We paid * for two Vodka and Tonics at the swim up bar/including the * tip. The area is great, we were at the Fairmont Kelani for our Honeymoon (just down the street) 5 years ago. They had no vacancies this time so we booked the Grand Wailea. It was really nice, could use some minor updates, but wow, everything you do/eat/drink/rentals at pool or beach side, be prepared to drop major green backs. It was nice for our purpose, but we could not afford to return.

The pool area and the in room robe. You pretty much are paying for the pool area here. This would be a great place for families who have children old enough to play all day at the pool to really get your money's worth. Our patio had weeds on the lawn and the lawn was not well groomed compared to the rest of the facility. The Grand Continental breakfast was not worth the $30 per person either. Lastly, when we called the transportation concierge to find out how we should take transportation to the airport for our very early morning flight, it would have been helpful to know that the airport didn't open until 5:30am and they suggested to us to get there by 4:30AM. So we got to sit at the airport and wait longer than we would have had to.

Beautiful grounds and friendly staff. Expensive, but how do you get away from that. You can't go wrong with grand wailed. Fun pool with slides and nice quiet ones for adults. Comfortable beds and large rooms. Fabulous food - all around great!

"We stayed here for a great deal due to HH points. If it weren't for that, I don't think I would pay the going rate of $* per night for a ocean view room! The room was nice and big with a great bathroom, but for that amount of money I would expect more updated carpets, wallpaper, and bedding. The pools are great and my baby loved the baby beach. As expected, everything is pricey but $10 for a kids grilled cheese sandwich is ridiculous. I would only stay here again if I got another great deal."

"A more beautiful resort doesn't exist! Our wedding/honeymoon was exquisite and the photos amazing! Not at all happy with the dining - we went to Kihei or to Four Seasons to eat. The costs for every single thing - bottled water in the room - $6.25, parking $15, fridge, $25, etc was annoying and excessive. I love the resort, though and I will return with my kids, but not for our entire trip. The spa was worth every penny, however."

"We've stayed here 3 years in a row. After sampling various islands and top-rated hotels, this beats them all. Pools are heated; even in Hawaii, that's nice. Beach is tops (warm, crystal-clear water). Despite other reports, we always find our rooms to be immaculate. A good indication of a hotel's devotion to cleanliness are the public restrooms. Per wife, the GW restrooms put others at nearby premier hotels to shame.A little crowded this year for Spring Break, but they handled the crowd, except for one day when we waited 3 minutes to get beach towels. We'll be back in 2008."
