This is one of the oldest hotels in Norway. Guests wanting a very modern hotel will be disappointed. However, those who like a bit of charm from their hotel will be pleasantly surprised. The hotel is located adjacent to Bergen's central railway station, and while being relatively central this location is still about 10 minutes' walk to the major shopping area of Bergen and waterfront area.

Once grand hotel undergoing overdue refurbishment. We are paying $280 a double - for that in Norway it's not too bad. Room is a but tired, hallways very tired, but beds comfortable, bathroom good and staff and breakfast (included) excellent. Great location 20 metres from railway station, 200 metres from bus station and easy walk to town.

Great hotel, beautifully decorated classic style - like a family mansion or a castle (I took pictures of every room downstairs), yet warm and cosy. Superb buffet breakfast, perfect location, less then 10mn walk from downtown and harbour and 2mn from central station. Would have loved to stay longer and will definitely come back - and recommand it to anyone.

Very convenient to the train station. Rooms are small by American standards, but quite adequate as expected in an older European hotel. The breakfast was plentiful and nicely presented. Staff was helpful and courteous. We had a streetside room but noise was not a problem.

Comfortable hotel, just across the road from the railway station and a very pleasant and easy ten minute walk to the harbour area. Rooms a little on the small side with minimal storage area for unpacking suitcases. Free WiFi in the room very much appreciated.

Place was a bit old looking, but some people would consider that was its charm as it has historical significance from the 1920's. The lounge with the coloured glass windows was really nice to sit in during the day, and the continental breakfast spread was fantastic.

Had to wait to long for the dinner to be finsished even though we were the only one in the restaurant. Expensive room.
