After driving a long time away from where we thought we were staying. The room smelled like Lysol, there were holes in the curtains, there was one waitress in the restaurant for breakfast and there was a reception tent for a wedding set up outside our door. Oh and the floors creaked. We were so disappointed, we left.

We loved being right at the ski resort and its easy access to the lifts. It would have been nice to have a sink in the kitchen nook. The hotel had comfortable beds and a cute cozy atmosphere about it.

The hotel is in a beautiful location but 12 miles from the nearest town, the rooms were good size but very dark inside. None of the ice machines or hot tubs at the hotel were in working order. The food available was poor to fair but overpriced much of the staff in the restarant was not very friendly or helpful but seemed to be pushing you to finish and leave. The best part of the stay was the people that set up the recreation they were very friendly and helpful finding fun stuff to do with my children. The ski lift was fun and the view from the top and hiking were great also.

Ended up staying at Grand Targhee in June as the accommodations were reasonable in comparison to the Jackson Hole, WY vicinity. The drive to and fro is a bit tiresome. The bedroom itself was nice sized, although it could have used a better cleaning (for example cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and marks on the wall from what I assume was ski equipment). Nice comfy comforters. The bathroom was tiny and could use updating. Flatscreen TV was a nice touch; however, very few channels and even fewer with clear reception. Lighting in the rooms was poor and hallway lighting was almost nonexistent. The room doors were light duty--could use an upgrade to a heavier door or at least heavier door locks. Elevators would also be a nice amenity to have available when lugging considerable luggage.Restaurant availability was limited in hours and fin foodstuffs (were sold out of lettuce, soup, etc.), although the service was very friendly. An 'ok' spot, but not one I would recommend paying that much for. Occupancy rate was only about 33% during our stay--very quiet--shoot for a great rate if you're considering staying in the off-winter season.

We picked up this room to stay at after hiking in the Grand Teton. The facility is a ski area so the summer crowd was very small for a Monday night. Room was clean and nice. Facilities were first class but the vast majority were closed. The on site restaurant was okay but had a very, very limited menu. Wireless internet was fast and available.

Nice rooms. This hotel was nice and we enjoyed out stay. We went during ski season and skied two days at Targhee. The location was great, just walk to the slopes. All of the staff were nice and helpful. Overall it was a good stay. Maybe the only downside was there is not much to do in the evenings at Targhee. It's a small resort so I didn't expect much.

I feel like I'm in a third world country. You are an hour away from civilization, the food is horrible, the service is slower than molasses in January (seemed like no one cared about you), they lied about their activites (snowlift being open, frisbee golf, etc.), the five TV channels barely come in, you get about thirty gallons of hot water, and they wouldn't give us a battery for our fire alarm in our room in a WOODEN lodge. I wouldn't recomend this hotel unless you come in the winter and maybe it is better than in the summer.

It was a beautiful lodge, and I am sure t would be great to stay at during the winter. However, most of the lodge was closed- the pool, spa, fitness room, bar, clothing shop. In fact all that was open was the general store/ grill/ snack shop and the front desk. It cost $4.75 to wash and dry one load of laundry. The food was amazing. Oh, and I may have chosen to stay somewhere else had I known the lodge was 30 mins up the mountain from the nearest town- which is Driggs, in Idaho!! Plus, the grounds are all non-smoking.

Incredible views & wonderful staff. It was too far from Yellowstone Park. This is a great resort for families in summer and winter.

My family and I have skied at Grand Targhee for the past 6 years. You just cannot beat the powder, the non-existent lift lines and the beauty of the Tetons! What more could you ask for!The staff have always been very friendly and helpful, we see many of the same faces year after year. Yes, the rooms are not 5 star! ! But they are always clean and comfortable. We are looking forward to seeing the newly renovated condos. The food choices are limiited, but the food is very good. Especially the all you can eat Alaskan king crab legs on Tuesday nights. My husband and I make that our date night! The resort is great for families, just give them the walkie talkies and a couple of dollars for hot chocolate and off they go! It is perfectly safe!I do hope that as the expand Targhee they will maintain the integrity of the resort and not just seek to draw in the crowds. It is a little bit of snow heaven for this Houston girl!

The ski lift to the top of the mountain was awesome! The hot tubs. One was not working and the other was not acceptable. The ski resort was quite and inviting for a relaxing vacation. The staff is helpful and the mountain view is breathtaking!

WE STAYED AT THE GRAND TARGHEE FOR THREE DAYS IN JULY-WE HAD SOME TERRIBLE SERVICE (SLOW)AND FOOD AT THE DINING ROOM BUT OTHERWISE)EXCEPT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION) IT IS A NICE PLACE NOW-BUT THEIR PLAN IS TO ADD A BUNCH OF CONDO'S AND STUFF SO i WOULDN'T GO BACK ANYMORE BECAUSE THE PEACE AND QUIET AS WELL AS THE LANDSCAPE WILL BE GONE

Scenic. Long drive up the hill to get there. An amazing deal in the summer. Views of the Tetons, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, and a fabulous bluegrass festival once a year. You can't ask for anything more. Rooms are adequate but not luxurious, but if you're up here to spend lots of time in your room, you're missing the point!

The sky lift affords an awesome view. The hotel is 12 miles of winding road from anywhere. The resort sets atop a beautiful mountain in a scenic area on the Wyoming/Idaho line (about an hour from Jackson Hole). Major problem: no direct route to Yellowstone, so drive that looks short on the map takes about 3 hours and requires backtracking. Closest small town is 12 miles away on a winding road. If you love solitude, this is your dream spot.

Location is far off the beaten path and amazing views. The particular building we stayed in had some floor creaking. Excellent location. The beds seemed new, even though the building and bathroom fixtures seemed a bit older. The floor had a few creaks here and there. The 27"+ flat screen was nice, but the stations in our room didn't come in that well. Not as good as the same channels in the nice restaurant bar area which had pretty good food.

The surroundings are breath taking. Extremely beautiful. The room was 90 degrees until about 1 am, NO AC just a poor fan. Not good when you want to relax. The room was not the best, no AC in the rooms just a table fan which didn't work too well at all. The restaurant was excellent so was the restaurant staff. The Hotel staff left me feeling not welcome. The surroundings were great.

What a beautiful view. The hotel steakhouse was outrageously priced! The view was beautiful, the people friendly, however when we went in to eat at the steakhouse, we were appalled at the prices. We drank only water, ate only an entree and our bill was almost $70.00 - that was without any appetizers, salads, or desserts.

There was snow in June. Very little hot water and no lighting in the room. Overall the hotel was nice. However requesting something in the Jackson hole area, and got a room two hours away was less then pleasing? Might be great for skiing, however visiting the Jackson hole area, you would not want to stay here. The lighting in the hotel was horrible, very light, and hard to see. TV stations weren't kid friendly, any Disney or nickelodeon. And the area we stayed in has 30 gallons of hot water, for about twenty rooms. Need I say more!

The restaurant, when open, was very good. Needs major maintenance. Certainly does not deserve more than 1 star in current condition. This might be a great place in the winter for skiing or in the summer for outdoor activities, but it was tired and worn and lonely in mid-September. I asked upon checking in if there was a restaurant and was told yes. However, the restaurant was closed, at least for lunch. None of the other shops or facilities were open or available and we felt as if we were the only guests in the hotel. It reminded us of THE SHINING! Dinner in the restaurant was very good as was the service, but there were only 3 parties in the restaurant that night.

The room was very rustic. It was far from everything that we wanted to do. The service was excellent. I wish I would have known, however, how far away from everything.
