i hope to visit bangkok again for just to stay at grand president hotel because every thing is good i give it exellent mark not good only and also five stars

Beware as this hotel has 2 parts. The main part and the tower 3. Without knowing we were placed in Tower 3, and had to cross the busy road each morning for breakfast or to reach reception. The service was generally poor with little regard for customer service and basic manners. I would not recommend this hotel to families or couples wanting a nice, relaxing break. This hotel is only suitable for single men who are looking for a nightlife location and somewhere to bed down for the night without regard for comfort nor quality.

1. Tower 3 is bad you can hear person next door cough, also conversation. Once fire alarm went off and a number of guests went to investigate. No reply from front desk when they said they would call back. TV in room was old not like TV in Tower 1. Also remote was old and numbers worn away. AC was marginal. When I was checking out I inquired about taxi in front of main building and was told by front staff let us do that for you so you will not be overcharged. the bellman at their request put me in the same taxi and the driver smiled and said meter is not necessary going to the airport. He overcharged me. I wonder how many people are in on this? the room staff(maids)are wonderful and always polite.I always give them a big tip.

We stay here often when we visit Bangkok. The rooms are a little shabby and worn, but it's a nice comfortable place with very friendly and accommodating staff.

I have stayed at this hotel before, mostly because of price and its location on Soi11 cloe to sumkuvit Rd and nana sky train station. It is close to some good places to eat , drink play pool or just hang around. None of the staff stood out they were efficient. the hotel itself is quite dated. On this visit I stayed at 3 different hotels in different areas of the city.this area was the most fun. I chose a upgrded room and got a large bedroom and sitting room, but the room stank of cigarette smoke. I am asthmatic and a non smoker and they were able to change me to a non smoking room in tower one, which was a much nicer room again pretty dated, but everthing worked well. Now having stayed in all three of their towers, all of which have their own pool areas, i prefer tower 3 across, the road which happens also to be their cheapest. Make sure you know if breakfast is included before you arrive. It is a great spread, even though it cost about $9 extra, on prior visits it was included.

I have stayed at the Grand 6 times over the past 18 months and will be there at least 2 more times before the end of 2007. I learned from a friend the first time to go no less then a Regency room. It is well worth it. Tower 1 or 2 is the way to go, always, unless you want to go cheap, you get what you pay for. People at the hotel are great, bell guy even ran out to get things for me. Great location on Sukumvint. Near to BTS, shopping malls, restaurants, Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza. I stay there with my Thai girlfriend when visiting and she loves it too. The German beer house located right there is awesome. Great food and drink, good service and people. Love the pig roast each weekend. The Regency and above rooms also provide a full kitchen and fridge, great if you want to do your own breakfast or evening food. In case your a late riser like we are. It all depends on what your looking for, I would recommend it to friends and have before. Spend * ? That is what you get.

the room was awful and i specifically requested a dvd player and it wasnt there. the entrance area was grande and it was downhill as soon as u entered the lift. pool area was understaffed, i couldnt believe how difficult it was to buy one bottle of water while by the pool, i gave the money, they phoned reception, a waiter then got the bottle, entered the lift and in the meantime there a bar by the pool, it didnt make sense and wasnt helping my thirst, luckily i had only booked one night but it was a bad end to a great holiday

We're stayed at the Grand President four times now. The furniture and decor is pretty run down and in need of maintenance, but the facilities are great, the staff is excellent, the location is perfect and the pricing is great.

I booked the hotel and flight together. They put me in Tower 1 which was a joke. They gave me a lot of run around before they were willing to give me a room in Tower 1 or 2. There was daily room service but the cleanliness was questionable. Staff at the restaurant were friendly and clean. Breakfast was catered to Westerners which was good. Yes, it you decide to stay here, make sure you stay in Tower 1 or 2.

The hotel was not what i expected room not 4 star very basic and for thailand alot of money stayed in great hotels half the price. However if you don't want a pretty/spacious room then hotel is ok, food was great though!!! Also pool on the roof is nice to chill out in bangkok.

First the hotel's website it said that it was 15 minutes from the airport and it was actually 30-40 minutes. The rooms was totally different from the site, I got Tower 3 which looked like a roach motel, when I asked to be moved to tower 1 or 2 they said no rooms were available. The service was exelent all the staff was so polite and helpful that I wanted to take them home with me. The Gym was shabby consisting of outdated equipment. I would recomend this hotel but before you book call and ask for tower 1 or 2. Good luck and enjoy because I did in a strange sort of way lol.

perfectly pleasant hotel, we were in tower 3 which meant that you had to cross the street to the main tower for the reception etc and got hounded by taxi touts over a short walk. weren't given any info re location of pool, but hotel staff did manage to pick us up from Bangkok airport, despite our flight being 15 hours late! they also didn't charge us for the night that we weren't there for, so overall, happy with the experience and would stay again, if it wasn't in Bangkok, which we were less impressed by! location seemed ok though, about 10 minute walk from the nana sky train station.

The room was very small and dark with hardly only a small window near the kitchenette. The service desk was incompetent and unhelpful with any requests. There are three different towers. Do not stay in tower 3 which is the least desirable. I noticed cockroach in the room one night.

Hotel was very good and staff helpful easy access to the Airport via the expressway and Nana rail station only a few hundred metres plenty of good eating places and supermarkets close by.Only down side was roadworks which although not at night the steel plates covering the holes cracked loudly when trucks and cars drove over them. being a light sleeper i should have asked for a higher room. have stayed in Bangkok many times in the past but value for money and service means that this is a good value hotel.

Second stay at this hotel, can highly recommend. Watch out for the taxi touts just outside, walk away from hotel and get a meter taxi. Lost a wallet which maid found under bed promtly returned intact. Two great stays so far i will be back well done staff at Grand President!

"I was impressed by the service at this hotel. My first room was near an area that had been renovated. When the bellman came with the luggage, he insisted I be moved because of a strong chemical smell. When I was 20 baht short of the limo fee back to the airport (a Mercedes), the limo lady cut the fare 100 baht. Good value, decent location, wake-up to the sound of howler monkeys."

"The G.P. is good value and good location. Go for the Executive Suite upgrade, as the Topaz rooms are a bit small. Well worth it. 3 pools !! Good Breakfast buffet. Just down the block from Nana BTS Station. Great street food and shopping on Sukhimvit Rd. Close to Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza and Lui's Bootery ! Woohoo !!"

I found the Grand President to be perfectly satisfactory for the price bracket. An excellent buffet breakfast was included. The pool on top of tower 3 was great after a hot day in Bangkok.
