This place is great for the money, the food is good and lots of variety. The staff are friendly and treat people well. There should however, be a bar on the gardenside of the property as you have to go over to the beachside even if you want a drink.

The all inclusive resort was very small but also very laid back and peaceful. Unlike the more upscale resorts that I've stayed at, the Grand Pineapple Beach in Negril depicts authentic Jamaicain life. The resort only had one bar, one small swimming pool (nothing to write home about), and one restaurant. Although there was only one choice for dining, the food was actually quite good and had a different menu every night (i.e., Chinese, Mexican, etc.). Also, if you were hungry in between the time meals were served, feel free to ask for a grilled cheese, hamburger or cheeseburger with fries. The beach itself was beautiful and the sunsets were amazing! Although there's not much to see in the way of snorkeling right on the beach, the coral reefs are just offshore a short distance and were amazing! If you had the choice of garden side or beach side at the resort, definitely choose beach side. It's on the side of the road with the lobby, bar, and restaurant. The garden side is across a busy street. (Don't worry, the security guards make sure you cross safely and actually stop traffic for you.)The garden side does have the small swimming pool. The resort does offer complimentary non motorized sports and we took advantage of the water trikes and kayaks. They occassionally set up the volleyball for beach volley ball as well. Also, Margaritaville is a short walk down the beach (or short ride if you prefer that mode of transportation)and is very kid friendly. It has a large blow up trampoline and slide in the water. While the adults relax, the kids can play. (Don't believe the brochure at the resort. Although you can get free shuttle service on Tues. to Margaritaville, there were no bon fires, hula girls, etc.) Our group of 8 had fun anyway. Although this is an all inclusive resort, I would recommend that you go online and contact Juta Negril about transporting you to the resort. They were the cheapest ($18 per person and children were 1/2 price) and the drivers also drove safel

I really enjoyed staying at this resort.Everything from the staff, food and the bar were excellent.I stayed in one of the beachside cottages which was only a few steps from the bar and one of the best beaches in all Jamaica.I also met some really cool locals and tourist.Watchout for Nadine at the bar when asking for a red stripe and a shot of appleton rum!!!! See you guys again in June again 2009.

Our stay in Jamaica was our first time ever in the country! The Grand Pineapple was a beautiful place to stay and it was clean! The staff was amazing, courtious, friendily, and helpful. It was an amazing place to stay at and the security was helpful in keeping the those that weren't staying at the hotel away. The beach activities were good and the staff helped connect us with area tours. The food was great and each night there was a different theme. The bartender was tentative to our needs. The grounds were clean and well taken care of and were attended to. We will be back next year and look forward to seeing everyone again. Thanks for a wonderful time and an experience and many memories.

Travelled with 3 other mature women for a quiet girls trip. Beach was amazing, water was perfect. Cottages were quaint and a bit worn, but clean. Staff tried to be accomodating most of the time. Ran out of cold water occasionally, seemed to be a problem throughout the resort. Worst part was all-inclusive food. Not only was the timing of meals limited, food was often cold (when it should have been hot) Ordered a couple of burgers on afternoon of arrival and they were inedible! Don't know what the meat was and don't want to know. For the price, look elsewhere.

We went here because our friends got married on the beach. The wedding was beautiful, the beach was pretty nice and the hotel was nice, not overly fancy by any means. However, there were two cock roaches in our bathroom, they didn't seem to do anything about. We paid for a beachside cottage and got a regular room at first. We weren't compensated for staying in a regular room the first nights even though we paid extra for the cottage. The pool was small and you had to cross the street to go to the pool. No bar on the poolside so you either had to cross the street or wait 30 minutes or more for them to get your drinks for you. My husband accidentally lost our room key with the safe key on it and they charged us $ for it! The bartenders weren't overly friendly but they got a little better when we tipped them. It didn't feel like they really wanted to serve us. The food was awesome, different themes every night. It was an ok experience, but we won't ever be going back there.

The husband and I stayed at the Grand Pineapple in Jan 09. We had a wonderful time. The hotel was just like we wanted. We did not want to be at a large resort where you must walk your legs off to get to the beach etc. Everything is right outside your door here and the beach was beautiful. Nice shady places to relax. The resort is small so don't have people bothering you to do any activities or sing karaoke etc. They did have kayaks provided by the hotel and that was fun. Also took a sunset boat ride down to Rick's Cafe. Definitely worth the money to see the cliffs from the water. Just walk south down the beach and ask for Captain Moses. Rooms not fancy but clean. Food was very good. Even though the food is not available all the time we never got hungry in between because we had so much at every meal. Great desserts and coffee. Oh yes and the drinks were great. Would fix anything you asked for and Andrew would fix you up at closing time. Easy walk to the reggae shows at Bourbon Beach and Alfred's . Great time.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Jamaica, and we loved this hotel. It is not terribly fancy, but it is clean, the staff is nice, the beach is beautiful, and we really liked the Negril area. There were lots of fun things to do. Food was decent. The drinks were GREAT. We took a sunset cruise to Rick's Cafe and it was pretty fun. Also took a glass bottom boat snorkle trip which we really enjoyed. The only problem I had was that the website said that transportation from the airport to the hotel was included (found out after we paid it wasn't), however, when I called Travelocity's customer service, I was told 3 different stories, I was hung up on, I was told there was no transportation at all availble and I'd have to take an hour and a half cab ride... The TRUTH is there is a shuttle. I wouldn't recommend an early departure flight because the hotel is a pretty good distance from the airport. We had to leave at 4 am to make our 7 am flight. Definately stay at this hotel, but book it through a company that cares and doesn't lie to their customers.

We travelled first week in April a few years ago, right after Spring Break. For what we paid, it was an amazing value! The food was very good, desserts excellent, andso much fresh fruit we had to cut ourselves off! If you tip per meal to what translates to $5 American, you will want for nothing - the wait staff will anticipate your every need. From 7:00AM on every morning, you can take the carafe that is in the room to the kitchen and they will fill it with coffee for you to take back to your balcony to enjoy. Such a lovely way to start the day. The drinks were awesome! Again, become a regular tipper and you'll get the best service. When they see you heading to the bar, they'll start up the blender so your drink will be ready when you get there. The rooms were very clean and straightened up/beds made every day. Even though it was all inclusive, we opted to have dinner out on two nights and I'd highly recommend this to everyone. They offer some activities on site, but can make arrangements for you to do just about anything you want to do. For us it was parasailing and we're now addicted. The Jamaicans are a lovely people who are proud of their country and only too happy to offer you suggestions to enhance your trip. I'd go again in a heartbeat even though I've been there many many times.

This vacation was to be a week-long, much needed getaway for the hubby and I. First, we get to the airport in Montego Bay only to find out that the tranfer to the hotel is not included (even though it states on travel website that it is) this cost us $100 (40 there, 60 back) Then they put us in a standard room with double beds, the hubby had to go back and forth with the front desk attendant for 15 min and finally we were moved down the hall to a queen (and it was not a cottage as we had requested, but just a regular hotel room). The food was mediocre at best, and please do not confuse all inclusive with food always available. There are two hour windows when breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served. And from noon to six you can order a burger or hot dog (the burger was so bad I took one bite and that was that). The drinks, however were amazing as were the bartenders. The spa staff is very pleasant, but the front office staff could use some re-training. And don't ask them to call a cab for you...it will cost you $1.00 US per minute. I hope this review is helpful, If you do decide to stay at Negril Gardens you can expect a decent vacation, but it was nothing like I (or several other vactioners) expected or desired. I would never stay here again.

Just got back from Negril Gardens all inclusive and it was great beautiful beach great staff all around fron housekeeping , to managment, to all outside activities . Our stay was great the food was very nice something different every night and always fresh something for everyone and that goes for breakfeast to dinner . The drinks flowed from 10am till late night thanks to A the bartender 'yeahman ' the nightly entertainment was great and alot of fun we had a great group of people staying there at the time and we all had plenty of laughs . The hotel is very secure and watchful eyes are always on you but never intrusive I felt very safe that my wife could walk around on her own or go to the beach alone and not have to worry about her safety. There are peddlers but security keeps them away at a distance very nice . Thanks for a Great Vac.We will be back and next time we will bring our family with us .

We needed few days to unwind. Always staying at a five stars hotels we had low expectations but were super pleasantly surprised. Hotel is beautifull right in the middle of seven mile beach. Colorfull and clean with everything you can ask for. We got quiet room in the back of property by the pool with a nice terrace. Walking across the road is not a big deal and staying by the beach could be a little noisy. Personel very helpfull and nice. Food is Jamaican fare and plenty as are the drinks. Beach and water super excelent. Capt. Ron (for real) with his glass bottom boat and knowledge of reef for snorkeling was realy helpfull. Loved every minute of it. About the only bad thing is the two hours trip from Montego Bay.
