We arrived more than 5 hours before check in and they tried very hard to get us in early. We did wait 4 hours, but were given access to the pools so the kids had a great time. I liked having a refrigerator and micro in the room, and the beds were very comfortable. Nice staff and free shuttle.

If you like sleeping beneath a douvet cover everone before you has slept under, this is the place for you. No top sheet is provided unless you ask. Unless you put the air conditioner on high, it is too hot to sleep under the down comforter. There is a lighter blanket in the closet but you must ask for a top sheet. Our room had 2 queen beds cramed into a space one king would have fit nicely. One bed was up against the wall and the other against the sliiding glass door.We chose this hotel for it's convienence to Legoland and pool for the kids. It was chilly when we were there and the pool was not very heated. Too cold for this adult. Most everything in the room is very cheap. We had a refrigerator with a broken handle and the contact paper was peeling off the "kitchenett" cupboards. The television in the armoir was visible only from straight away. The best thing this resort has to offer is the free shuttle to Legoland. The microbrew restaurant on site was pretty good too.

These guys spend a lot of money on marketing and brochures and dupe you into thinking you are getting a five star. You need a telescope to see the ocean. There is no mention in the brochure that they will not let you use the main pool if you have children. The secondary pool is small and over-crowded and their is NO Restaurant at the hotel so you have to schlep to a nearby pub or drive offsite. For the money this place is to be avoided. I left here and headed to Disney where the service is incredible and the accomodations much nicer. My advice is stay away or stay downtown Carlsbad.

Across the street from Legoland, but you won't be disturbed by the park if it's not your reason for staying (you won't even know it's there!). Separate pools for kids (max depth 4ft) and adult (lap pool). Kids pool has a water park-ish area.

We enjoyed our stay and have already made plans to return. We got a good room rate. Our room was very clean, the staff was helpful, and the overall value was good.

The lobby was nice. The children's pool was closed, which was disappointing since that was one reason I booked with this resort. The room service was great and reasonable. The room needed to be remodeled.

I just loved the rooms and the layout of this property. Free underground parking with easy elevator access to all rooms. I loved the fact that it has an adult pool separate from the kids area. The view from our room was breath taking. We went on very short notice and were very pleased with all the amenaties. Close to great shopping, dining, San Diego, LA. We we be back for sure!

Being on Business, I look for a good solid location. I particulary enjoyed the Karl Strauss restaurant on the premise. All resort staff that I serviced me were outstanding. I did find that my room had only one accessible wall plug and that was located under the work desk. Now if you have a computer, cell phone, and Ipod to be charged you are very disadvantaged.

My husband, 2 small children and I stumbled upon this hotel via the internet. We stayed in a one bedroom condo which was absolutely ideal for a family. There was a large and completely equipped kitchen. The room was extremely spacious and well maintained. I'm trying to book another stay this summer, but can't find a similar room :(

My husband and I visited Legoland and stayed at the Grand Pacific Palisades Resort, and also reserved a room for my son and his family. My 5 yr.old grandson loved sleeping so close to Legoland, and he looked forward to reserving the shuttle bus that took him everywhere he wanted to go. The shuttle service took us to Legoland and even drove us to dinner at Carlsbad Village, to a wonderful Italian restaurant, which I would have not found myself without getting lost in the rain. We set times for pick-ups and the shuttle arrived promptly. We felt very pampered and this made our mini family vacation very special. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The rooms were lovely and clean, however, we found the pillows to be very stiff and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the guests upstairs were making noise stomping around and jumping was heard late into the night hours, in both of our rooms which were located several rooms apart. Aside from that inconvenience, overall, our weekend was very nice and we would recommend to stay again.

Grand Pacific Palisades Resort was a great place to stay, especially if you are planning on going to Legoland. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that there was no refrigerator in the room.

Pacific Palisades is located in a great area near many of the attractions Carlsbad has to offer. Great golf, Legoland, shopping are all very close. We love the area and would stay there again. The rooom was very comfortable with a sofa area and a very roomy bathroom. I also enjoyed relaxing at the family pool with my grandchildren. They loved the water play area.

This was an excellent hotel for families with kids. It was so close to shopping, Legoland, and restaurants.

I was very impressed with the cost of a room in this nice facility. It had all the amenites plus some and the rooms very nice furnished and clean. I look forward to the next time I stay at the Grand Pacific Palisades and would recommend it to all my friends and family!
