Spent 2 Nights in this hotel, problems from the start. Rude staff behind desk. Poor overall state of room, Wallpaper coming off the ceiling and Walls in my room, Loose ceiling Titles in the bathroom, Sticky Tape stuck over electrical light switches, No Hot water on Saturday, Mistakes in the dinning room allocation, Wardrobe almost falling down. Very bad tv Picture. And all this from a premium room which i had to pay extra for. Poor customer service. Overall Very poor hotel.

Half priced and still over the odds....On arrival we found a very well located hotel on the front with an excellent view of the sea and piers with good car parking (free for residents). We were however a little disappointed to be allocated a room in the basement which not only had a strange smell but also had a brick wall about 3 feet away from our window preventing a view of anything – let alone the sea (as advertised). Never the less the room seemed ok at first (despite the strange aroma) and we were only in Blackpool one night to see a show. When we arrived back that evening however we found that the bedding was all damp – as was the floor and we requested to be put in another room. This was done without much fuss and although the new room was on the 2nd floor, it was dingier than the one in the basement! – But at least we could see the sea!Breakfast was the cheapest quality I’ve seen in a hotel, complete with soggy toast and waiters all too sleepy and disinterested in supplying anyone with coffee – which turned out to be the only decent thing about the meal.We got this room for half the normal price – which in my opinion is amazing given the quality of the place – half price was still way too much and I wont be rushing back should we find ourselves in Blackpool again.

My family and i were given rooms facing the Nellie Deans & Sanuk Clubs, you can hopefully imagine our shock that one of the clubs did not close until 4.30am, and then for another 30mins after it became a taxi rank right outside our windows, so we were not getting asleep until after 5pm. When we should of been out enjoying Blackpool we were catching up on our sleeep. It is certainly the worst experience Ihave had in a Grand Hotel and it has put us of coming to one again

Customer ServiceWitnessed Duty manager on day of arrival being very rude to elderly guests, in addition she informed a member of reception staff to just ignore a Customer who appeared to have a valid complaint. Additionally my room was not cleaned when we stayed and I had to go to reception to ask for clean towels. I found the restaurant staff to be very helpful but front of house staff arrogant and rude. It is my opinion that retraining is required in Customer service starting with the Manager down to reception Staff. Since returning both of us have had a sickness bug. There was a sickness outbreck in this hotel the week previously with many rooms quarantined on our arrival. It is my opinion that we should have been informed before our stay and offered the choice if to stay or not? All in all this was a very negative experience, I have stayed in hotels in all continents and can say that this hotel has been the worse ever. I will not return and can only suggest that late rooms remove this accommodation from their website.

We have used this hotel many times over the years. The service you used to get was exelent. Now the service is poor. To start with we should have got free a bottle of wine with our booking. The restaurant service is poor due to the lack of staff on the sunday we left without getting our cup of tea at the end of our meal as we waited that long to think we used to take a group there every year until 3 years ago.

This was a 3 night New Year break 2008/9 docs said superior room and it was very nice. also had to use superior restaurant this was just a smaller dining room--served with first course then it was self service from what can only be described as standard high st cafe fare. Entertainment room done out like the mess hall rows n rows of seats small pub type tables -- 1 small bar and not enough staff. Evening entertainment quiz-bingo-dancing to organist-cabaret was a singer on for 1 hour then 30mins or so more dancing to the organist. New Years Eve grand celebration entertainment was just some of the same. New years eve grand gale dinner was just the same but with a prawn cocktail extra- a glass of cheap wine and crackers on the table still in the restaurant still serve yourself main course still very bland food although the girls in the restaurant were very nice and helpful-oh we had chocolate mints as a treat but these had got a white bloom on them and were out of date according to the box-took one of these to the duty manger "steve james" who explained that because chocs had been in the fridge that is why there was white bloom on them and the sell by date didn't really matter. on new years day when we came back to the hotel early evening we found out that the rooms had not been cleaned -- asked reception and was informed that there wasn't any cleaning staff available -- make your own bed "just like being at home" evening meal just the same as first night. The breakfast was good. There is another bar in the hotel in the conservatory but due to staff shortage wasn't open in the evening. There is another organist/singer in an open lounge with a small dance floor. If you get chance to stay at this hotel consider the many many small private hotels in blackpool for £20.00 a night you will get much better value. We paid £420.00 for this 3 night break. Very very disappointing certainly not anywhere near value for money.

no mention when we booked that this was Turkey & Tinsel theme starting on the 10th novno atmosphere in hotel we were prepared to join in with any evens entertainment but no effort was made by the hotel in this area the eve programme was duly scrapped and the same act appeared every night just a change of costume, there were many grumbles from seasoned coach parties that this T&T break was not a patch on others we were forutnate to have travelled by car and were able to get away from that GROUNDHOG feeling, dining room staff in worrall room were excellent bar staff extremely rude

my partner and i found the hotel to be very freindly, clean and warm.we had a bit of trouble finding our room due to the layout but after ten minutes of pounding the lobby's we asked a member of staff who directed us straight to our room. the room itself was nice and warm with a nice comfy bed with fresh clean sheets.the lighting was a bit dull but there was brighter lighting in the bathroom which had a good quality shower in.the entertainment at night seemed to cater mostly for persons of pensionable age or older so no disco's or rock bands here!we were quite pleased with the food apart from the english breakfast which was self service and the bacon, sausage and eggs were in large trays which were swimming in fat - not what you need on the morning of your departure.our waiter was very chatty and helpful. over all an enjoyable stay and highly recomended if you are advancing in years and want a nice relaxing break. younger people you are not far from the bars and clubs if you need to up the tempo a bit

Allegedly they are spending £5million on refurbishments. I only hope when it's finished that they spend some money on staff training in the restaurant. The breakfasts were revolting apart from the cereal and fruit. The evening meals were mediocre, and the dining room staff were useless. On Sunday night when we left the table, the dishes from ALL three courses were still on the table, despite the waitress visiting the next table 6 times to clear it. If you get a room withe a balcony don't bother to try and open the doors they are sealed, and the balcony is filthy with pigeon droppings that are years old. The only improvements that I can see since my last visit 2 years ago. is that the Premier rooms have been nicely redecorated and new bathrooms fitted, and the corridor floorboards no longer squeak and new carpets fitted. Do not expect any \"Known\" artists for your entertainment. Saturday night was a \"ONe Man Band\".

The room fell well below the standard for the price, with rather dated decor and ill fitting windows. Every point about the room said \"past it's sell by date\" even to the skimping on the room tea making facilities. ie; only sufficient tea or coffee for one cup each. The staff were nice, friendly and efficient and the food was of a good standard, not cordon blue but a lot better than most in the area. I stayed here for the ease of the half board deal, I feel I could have done a lot better staying some where else and eating out.

This hotel was easily accessed and the rooms were very nice and spacious but the food was bery basic e.g. if you ate late in the evening the food had dried up and was cold. Some of the staff were cold and unfriendly and nothing was explained to us on arrival e.g. car parking rules and where our room was. When we eventually found the room is was very pleasant and clean but a long way from the lift. This didn't suit my wife as she is partially disabled.

I booked a single as a place to stay for one night while visiting my brother. The guy on reception was really friendly and helpful - I'd missed dinner, but he arranged for a salad to be made up for me. All the other staff were also great apart from the breakfast staff, who stood around and didn't seem very happy when you asked them for something! The room was very nice - only problem was it overlooked the front and a nightclub and it was Saturday night and very noisy until the early hours - although it was entertaining watching the night life - but not the room if you wanted peace and quiet. All in all, it was a ver pleasant stay and very good value for money.

Couldn't find my booking to start with, then put in a \"older\" room (182) typical 60's decor, woodchip cardboard box furniture and the shower was one of those where it was either boiling hot or freezing cold and had patches of black mould on the white mastic around the inside base. The ceiling was full of cracks and water patches from the room or underfloor pipework above .Luckily it was just one night.

Disappointed that on arrival my reservation was not there, it was a good job that i took my confirmation, the receptionist said that the booking had not come through yet, I work in a Hotel myself as Reservations Manager and work closley with Laterooms and i know as soon as the room is booked it goes straight to the hotel, dont just think because you are with someone older than yourself that you need a twin room!!!!!!!The stardard of the room was execellent with a sew view just what we needed to make our weekend away a enjoyable one.
