Excellent hotel...excellent location. Loved the pool area. Very sheek!

Upon arriving the room was not ready, however we changed in the spa and hit the huge pool, and had lunch pool side. The staff was super friendly. The front desk was very accommodating. The worst part about the stay was the 'timeshare' presentation, which we have never sat through anywhere, but gave in this time, we thought 90 minutes was not too much time, but after three hours, it was enough. Never again. The room was very spacious, we had the 1 bedroom suite with the kitchen, a trip to the market helped us save money on food as we had most breakfasts and lunches in the room. The room service was great, along with a surprise turndown service at night. We had a 17 year old with us and he did not find the hotel had anything to do for that age group-however did think the hotel was very nice, we found it very enjoyable not having a lot to do, specifically being able to watch the whales from the pool and from our rooms very spacious deck.Loved the Mango daquari's during 2 for 1 happy hour!

This is actually a time share, so there was some peseure to hear the presentation. It also meant that the room was either a kitchenette or the other half of the suite, which we had. As a rsult, eveything was via room service and the accompanying wait and limited selection. A reasonable location although Sea of cortez was not swimmable in this part of the beach. Very strange Mayan temple entry that was extremely dark and played drum beat rythems continually. Spa and Workout facilities were excellent and offered reasonable pricing and access. Many fmilies in resort during our stay, including a set of small and noisy children next door. Most activities in San Lucas were within walking distance but car rental or un-metered taxi service readily available. Staff friendly and tried to assist. Beware. US cell phone coverage very limited and should be pre-coordinated with provider before going as hotel phone charges are high.

It did not have any way to get out of the tub. The shower was fine and everything else was ok.

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at and will definitely stay there again. The locations, decoration are great, and the staff is very attentive and friendly...I loved the spa even though the tip & service percentage is just too much, 15% obligatory plus whatever you want to leave as an extra...anyway, the lobby is impressive, and the rooms are great, ours had refrigerator, coffee brewer, microwave and all that, plus the room service people kept everything clean and neat. Just two things: the food is not so good and the jacuzzi needs to be heated.

I stayed at the Grand Mayan for a week with my wife. Upon arrival we were more than impressed with the entry way, and lobby, however hop on the elevator and into the area where the rooms are situated and our countenance changed rather quickly. The walkway to the rooms is next to a horse ranch which smells of unkept animals. The rooms look nice on the website, and they are nice, but there were stains all over the natural stone floor, and the plumbing works poorly, causing us to call the maintenance on 5 different occasions (at 1 point there was raw sewage on our floor). Pools were nice as it was 90*F, but the drinks were the worst. We tried to order poolside drinks on several occasions thinking they might be better, but they always came watered down and sour. I would suggest you order something out of a can. Breakfast buffet was good but expensive. Lunch and Dinner were bad and expensive. We stayed at the Westin the year prior, and we were expecting the same type of resort out of the Mayan. We were sadly disapointed.

They must have run out of money when they built this place. The lobby is impressive looking and the grounds are pretty. There are a number of swimming pools and spas in back just a stone's throw from the ocean. It's about a half hour to Cabo san Lucas by car/taxi and the same to the airport. BUT: The outdoor spas and pools are not heated! While the temperatures in Cabo are generally warm, it can be 10 degrees colder at the ocean than the listed temps. You need heat! (Who takes cold jacuzzis?) The ocean there is too dangerous to be swimmable. The rooms don't have enough light to read by. In the "hotel" style rooms, there is no coffee pot, and they won't give you one to use. (We bought one for 16 at the Mega store.) Also no refrigerator or microwave and they won't loan you one. Room service and poolside service were terribly slow. but you still pay 18%. In fact, even if you go get it yourself, you pay 18%. And if you don't add an additional tip, you may not see the poolside waiter again for hours! Only one phone in the room, and one wastebasket!. Big bathtub with jets, but it leaked even when not in use. For this I traded my premier 2 b.r. Lawrence Welk timeshare? Never again.
