We really enjoyed our stay at GLB. This was our second trip to Jamaica and our first trip to Grand Lido. We met a ton of repeat trippers(which is always a good sign when you are at a resort) and they were all very welcoming and friendly to us newbies!! We read some of the negative reviews and honestly we do not know what they were referring to. The resort was clean and the ground well kept. The staff was wonderful, the food good--the buffets were average but the sit down restaurants were excellent. Room service anytime or where was a big plus--where else can you get prompt room service and champagne at 1:00am delivered to the pool to share with a group of friends?? As far as events I have to say this was the laziest vacation we have ever been on. We basically lounged around the pool--both pools have swim-up bars and visited with friends we met. We did do some snorkeling right off the beach and it was great. One perk we did use was the free golf pro lessons. My wife had never been golfing and always wanted to try it--we met up with the golf pro and he was very good and patient!! We did speak to others who really enjoyed the SCUBA and organized activities. Our only problem was our a/c unit in the room dripped water--it still worked but it was a little annoying. We called--it was fixed. Like everyone else we are nervous that when the name changes other changes may happen as well....but we intend to give it a try next year so we can meet up with all the great people we met to see it for ourselves!!!

we just returned from Grand Lido Braco. this is FAR from a 4 star resort and definitely NOT one of the "Top 5 Hotels in Jamaica and the Top 20 Hotels throughout the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas" as stated on their website. while the rooms are nice, they are NOT luxurious. the rooms were clean and neat, but they was nothing special about them. it did appear that the bathroom in our room had been updated and looked nice, but the glass shower door leaked like a sieve and we needed extra towels to keep the water at bay. as for the food -- average at best. the 24-hour room service was a joke. i tried to call at 5:00am to get coffee and bagels, and i could not get an answer, even after calling back 3 times. the drinks were a different story. "Premium brand bar drinks" -- hah! the ONLY beer they had was red stripe, no lite beer at all. as for premium brand alcohol -- the only premium brands i saw were appleton rum, johnny walker black, absolute, and a couple others. you could not get anything you wanted or when you wanted it. at one bar the pina colada didn't have any coconut, at one bar they didn't have pineapple juice, and most drinks had very little alcohol. as for a banana daquari -- forget it -- no bananas. and the service -- SLOW. most servers didn't seem happy to be there and were not too excited make you feel special on your "lavish" vacation. WILL NOT RETURN!

Because we only stayed three nights we kept busy the entire time. The two tours that we went on are truely exceptional. 1. Bamboo river ride .romantic and peacefull.( ASK for Edgar and tell him we sent you). 2. Canapy tour. Exciting and awe inspiring Each had its own unique quality and personality. We wish we could have made it to the Dunns River Falls , but the resort needed at least 4 people to go and no one else was going. The only other way to get there was taxi, but we be on our own. The resort was quiet, capicity was less then half so it was very very quiet. The restaurants that we ate were good but couldnt go to the French style, Needed Jacket (provided if want) and closed toe shoes. First trip I didnt bring. The Spa was Very nice. We had 2 spa sessions outdoors and it was very relaxing. The water was warm but not too many tropical fish to find. Watch out for the sea urchins. We tried to do Scuba diving but due to the tours we missed the only times they had lessons. Overall we were so busy our 3 nights flew by us. The Staff was very friendly. We just needed more time but this being our first get away without the kids it was great.

The hotel has set their bathrooms up to let in a ton of mosquitos daily. Be prepared to get eaten alive while you are in your room. The beach is complete rock and hard on the feet. There's no variation in the menu. Chicken and fish 5 nights in a row. The staff is either really nice, or really cold - depends on the day. The Jerk Chicken at the Reagae bar is excellent. The gym is nice... but not very clean. There were no water or towels for the entire 7 days I was there. I told someone and NOTHING changed. No tubs in the average rooms - showers only!

If you have never gone to an inclusive resort, this is a fantastic "first". The staff catored to your every need, the room service was quick, all the food was very good. We had a great room, the bed was soft, they cleaned it everyday, they pulled the sheets back at night, whatever I wanted they did for me. Everyone was very friendly, and the service over-all was fantastic. They did not have all the television channels they advertised, and their drivers don't arrive on time, so anticipate them being an hour lated and tell them you need them there an hour earlier. The tipping was very confusing. Do not tip at the resort, but do tip the drivers from the airport and to the airport.

Compared to the other resorts in its class that I have stayed at, I was surprised to see a buffet with such a limited selection. I wondered if they cut down on the number of items because of the economy and because the hotel was empty. The Lamb Chops were to die for. French restaurant has good food. It appears that the housekeeping staff do not clean the bathrooms everyday. I ordered room service which came with 2 little packages of cream cheese. One of the packages of cream cheese had mold in it. The staff was very friendly but it was hard to find one to give you coffee at the buffet in the a.m. When one would finally come to our aid, we would never see them again for refills. This happened every morning of our stay. The free mani and pedi was nice. Nightly entertainment was good and entertaining. The beach is nice but try going in the water, you can slice your feet open on the sharp rocks which are everywhere and not spaced out. Also, I couldn't understand the way the bars work, you had to go to different bars for different drinks because one doesn't have a blender, the other doesn't have a certain liquor, etc. Other than the above which is just minor stuff this was a decent vacation.

This was our first trip to Grand Lido ( also first time going all Inclusive ) and will NOT be our last. Perfect weather ( last week in Sept.) The resort was not full ( still slow season) and I actually prefer it that way, you get better attention from the staff, although one down side to slow season, not all the bars were open, not that you had to go far for a drink. The nude pool side bar was the best place to be. We were there from 8am till 7pm just about every day. The food by the pool, best jerk chicken i ever had and plenty to eat. Plenty of water activities at your fingertips if you so desire. You can do the shore excursion at an extra cost but if your looking to hang out and make a few friends you need not go anywhere else. The entertainment staff keep you busy with pool games and they offer points to the winners to trade at end of trip for booze or tote bags and other stuff.Every night they have something going on in the center of the little town square. Room service was quick, friendly. The beach is small and a little rocky , they do try to keep it clean. We had a 3 hour spa special to die for. I can't wait to return next year. All the rooms are having their bathrooms redone, ours was finished and beautiful. We had a beach front very nice but your view no matter where is a little obstructed beacuse there are trees all along the beach and the beach front rooms are only 2 floors. The garden room blocks are 3 floors. All in all I would do it again.

This was our first trip to Jamaica, so we had no idea what to expect. But, when we arrived we found that we could'nt have made a better choice than Grand Lido Braco. Friendly, courteous, accomodating staff. It seemed they couldn't do enough for us. A variety of good food and drink. Daytime spent by the pool or beach and, if the mood moved us, nighttime activities were available. Perfect weather. We were struck by the cleansliness of the entire resort. From the rooms to the grounds, everything was kept clean and neat. The golf courses we played were so-so and the beach the same, but the negatives were far outweighed by the positives. A very relaxed and relaxing atmosphere. We would definitely go back.

The beach was rocky and we had to buy rubber shoes to go in the ocean because of the rocks and sea urchins (they actually look like porcupine's). Beach towels were available only every other day. Although, bath towels in our room always replaced twice a day. Entertainment was a local band every night, boring! Buffet food selection was next to nothing. My advice, go somewhere else!!!!

From the beginning through the end of our stay, the staff was welcoming, friendly, and always willing to help. We were pampered the entire time. There are plenty of food options on the resort, and for the most part, the food is great. The only possible drawback is that there are not a variety of vegetarian options or as many healthier main course options. With that said, room service was accessible at all times, you could have any kind and as many drinks as you want, and you can eat anytime and anywhere you want. There were plenty of activities on the resort; if you choose to go off the resort, the hotel concierge is very friendly and willing to help you plan any kind of excursion you desire. The staff at the salon and spa are great and I would definitely recommend a couples massage on the beach and taking advantage of the free manicure/pedicure. The only drawbacks of the trip was that the beach sand was a lot more rough and rocky than I expected; the soft and white I thought it would be. Also, the water sports staff is not as accomodating as the rest of the staff and did cancel some boat rides and snorkeling trips for not-so-logical excuses. August is a quiter time for this resort, so it was very relaxing, but the organized activities were probably not as lively as they would be in a higher traffic timeframe. Overall, the trip was fantastic and we would visit again.

I just returned back from vacation and my girlfriend and I had a great trip! We had read the reviews before we left and found that our expectations were exceeded! We knew that the rooms were going to be on the small and rundown side, but it didnt matter as we didnt spend much time in it anyway! It was perfect for the time we were there and the food was incredible! Will definitely return for our next Jamaica vacation!

we had a lot of fun at this hotel, the room was great the food was great the staff were friendly the driks were topshelf NOT watered down the activities around the island were wonderful no one pressures you to do anything. wonderful asian resturant and the buffet was great too lots of variety. Free golfing very fast room service. List goes on and on i love this hotel and i would recommend it to anyone. It's only good for couples trying to get away and this place is not for anyone under 18.

Rooms were old and small; Staff at Front Desk indifferent; Watersport staff indifferent & drinking on job; Constant cold wind from Atlantic prevents water activities; rocky beach. Go to Nagril where the beach is sandy with only a slight breeze. Don't waste your time or money at this bad excuse for a resort. The exterior of buildings and cooking were good but not enough to cancell the negatives.

I felt pampered and taken care of: I didnt have to think of what to do next: we were kept informed of daily activities, the siaff were friendly yet professional. Problems taken care of promptly. I plan to return. GREAT LOCATION! GREAT DESIGN! SUPER INCLUSIVE!

We were very disappointed in the "exclusive" resort. We were unable to swim in the lagoon because of so many sea urchins in the water. The beach was so rocky we could not walk on the beach barefoot for long. The nightlife was basically nonexistant at the resort. My friend and I had to change rooms two times during our five night stay. The first room was changed after I woke up to ANTS in my bed. The second room was changed after our bathroom was flooded from a plumbing leak upstairs. There was loud construction on a building next to ours throughout our stay. The management did not properly compensate me for the troubles endured during my stay. They did not have much sympathy for our situation and told me "this is the tropics - some things just happen here." I have been to Jamaica several times and brought my friend with me for her first trip expecting a wonderful, beautiful resort and a fun, exciting time. We instead experienced very little good and a lot of headaches for an expensive trip.

Sailed, Snorkeled, swam, walked the beach. Beautiful resort. Would have liked a restaurant at night that you could get different food without a reservation. Your choice was the Italian or buffet. It was good, but it would've been nice to have more choices. Didn't want to dress up for French and Munasan.

The food was excellent, the staff was friendaly & customer service oriented. We loved the Au Naturale Beach-very relaxing and laid back. The beach was much nicer on that side of the resort. The beach on the main resort wasn't that great for swimming. We were dissappointed that we didn't hear any live reggae. That's what Jamaica is all about! All in all, we would return to the resort, we had a great time and experience. We would reccommend it.
