This hotel is super close to the Ford Theater, get there early so you can get your timed ticket the new museum below the theater is really good, and the Peterson House is worth the wait in line. Make sure to check out the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the building is where Lincoln's 2nd inaugural ball was held. Everything else is walking distance but make sure to bring the walking shoes!

Having direct access to the Metro right from the hotel is an enormous benefit.

This is a very good hotel for anyone staying in the Washington DC downtown area who wants convenient access to the most popular tourist destinations. There is access to the Metro Center train station though the lobby. You can get to the Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery, the Smithsonian Institution museums, the National Mall, Reagan National Airport, and other popular destinations quickly and easily. There was some construction going on in the hallway leading to the station while I was there but it was no big deal. The White House, Ford's Theatre, and the National Portrait Gallery are within (for me anyway) easy walking distance. The restaurants are very good - I myself especially enjoyed the Grand Slam, a sports bar with food and many HD TVs showing various sports events. There is a brew pub across the street that is very good too. The hotel staff are friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay again.

Upon entering the Grand Hyatt through the revolving doors from the heat outside the grand atrium was a cool welcome oasis. We checked in late around 10 PM. The bell hop took time to give advice when asked about safe and unsafe areas with kids at night. Room was clean and extra towels were provided without even asking. The concierge desk was very busy but staff took time to answer my questions, provide maps and information on events and dining outside the hotel's five restaurants, and sold our trolley tour tickets. The tour trolly stop is outside the hotel. They would have provided free Holocaust Musuem tickets but had run out and did not get more during our stay. The breakfast buffet on the lower level was excellent. The other cafeteria style restaurant had a good selection for breakfast, was quick and less expensive. Down the street is Chinatown, Washington Convention Center across the street, Ford's Theater around the corner. The Hotel provided a map of sites within 10 and 15 minute walking times. The White House and Mall are within walking distance. Liked the convenience of having a Metro access corridor from the hotel. Though we were on a non-smoking 2nd floor could still smell smoke in the hallway. Chose to take a cab to Reagan Airport but could have taken the subway from the hotel. Overall enjoyable stay and great location. Kids had a great stay as well.

The hotel was very nice, but the lobby pool was being drained and it looked like it needed some updating. The room was very nice and up to date however.

I stayed here for two weeks on business and was very impressed. The staff was more polite and attentive than any other hotel I've ever stayed in. The location can't be beat and the lobby is very pretty. My only complaint is the TV's, but they worked so I guess that is all that matters.

reserved 2 rooms with two doubles, as always,, not avalible at time of checkin. 'UPGRADED" to a " suite ". They define a suite as two adjoining rooms with three beds,( one less than reserved ) and two roll aways....No fridge or microwave , but they had no problem finding space for a minibar ...so we could not keep drinks or food cool. Prepaid for business contenintal breakfast, per day per room. turns out this is a muffin and cup of coffee off the very large regular buffett. very confusing since there in no way separate buffett and continental breakfast..except when you get a bill. Everyone complained who purchased this option, this policy needs to be changed to a simple breakfast charge or no breakfast. XYZ at the front desk, valet, and wait staff were very helpfull and friendly.

My sister and I stayed here. It was the perfect place for two women. The Hyatt has its own haulway that leads directly to the Metro. The hotel was wonderful and the location is within walking distance to the White House, Fords Theater and the house where Lincoln died. Everything else was accessable by the Metro. We flew in to Reagan National Airport and road the Metro straingt to the Hyatt. I recommend it to all.

The hotel was close to all activities and was very clean. The cost for parking and internet.

The staff at this hotel are so rude. In addition, the hotel has a 72 hour cancellation policy and apparently if you just miss it they charge you a full nights room and tax. The customer service manager is horrible. I will NEVER stay at this hotel EVER AGAIN!!!!! I am a business traveler and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had.

We loved the location of this Hotel for seeing all the sights. With a Metro station just next store, we were able to get on the train with out even going out side to the HEAT of the summer. We also found that many of the best places to eat were just blocks away. We loved the travel DC channel offered in our room, it gave us some great tips for dinner and when to go to the different museums. Only thing that would have made the trip perfect is a King size bed. My husband and I got stuck with two double beds in our room. But size asside, the bed was very comfortable. The room service was also great.

Hyatt was a pretty alright hotel, no pins for hooking up the laptop, the ones on the side of the table were not working, coffee and the creamer was no good, morning no hot water as the heating system broke down, one of my colleague had a similar experience as he booked online thru a website , I am beginning to think if they give out crappy rooms for cheap deals, no complimentary fitness facility and internet, had to pay for everything

Stayed here 4 days. The hotel is beautiful, has very comfortable beds, and the room is clean and updated. The double beds are standard beds (not queen size), but the beds, pillows and bedding were extremely comfortable. The gym was great (there is a 10 fee/room/day if you use it, which we found to be a good deal). Pool use is free but the pool is rather small and only 4 feet deep -- which was great for families with small kids, but not really for adults. The metro--which charges approximately 2/trip/person--is right there (runs under the hotel)--VERY convenient, though paying for it can be a bit frustrating. If you arrive at the Ronald Reagan National Airport, you can take it and get off at the Metro Center exit, once out of the train then look for the 11th street exit sign and you will see an entrance into the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Ask the hotel receptionist for a map. The sights are within 5-15 minutes walking distance from the hotel--we spent all of our stay there walking and it was great, although we did take the Metro to go to the mall at Pentagon City (located in Viriginia) and to go to the National Shrine (at Catholic University). Stick to walking during the daytime. The Ford Theater and the American History Museum were closed and the FBI doesn't have tours any more. The breakfast buffet was very good but way too expensive. Be careful of people coming up to you for change--there are some fake bills going around. While we were there the whole downtown Washington DC area went black due to a power shortage--HOWEVER even though the hotel room did not have electricity, the hallways of the hotel had emergency power!

I had an excellent time while staying at the Hyatt. The hotel is in a wonderful location but the only downfall is trying to find parking if you decide to drive. Overall this hotel is a wonderful place for a family vacation.

Location, comfort. No complimentary wireless internet, expensive. Great hotel, but expensive. For that price I would at least expect complimentary wireless internet.
