Area Attractions - Enjoy excursions to Rochers de Naye with its wonderful views over Lake Geneva and the vineyards or visit the worldfamous Olympic Museum in Lausanne or the Art Museum Gianadda in Martigny only 30min. by car away from Montreux. In winter time, skiing is possible close to Montreux and the biggest skiresorts of Europe are only 45 minutes away.

The hotel is just next to the railway station, excellent location. But the hotel is very very old! The door can hardly close and you must lock the door to ensure it is closed. The lift is horrible but you can think it is tradition. Apart from the facilities, the service is not up to standard for a 4 star hotel. Firstly, they gave me a very very small room facing the railway station, which is very noisy. As our friends' rooms are facing the lake, so we asked for change of room (we are paying the same price). Then they gave me a room facing the lake and the size is acceptable. But the fans inside was out of order and the center of the room only have 2 bed lamps, feeling very dark. When we went out, the staff did not clean up our room. At the same time, they cleaned up the room of my friend but did not lock it! When we checked out, the hotel tried to charge us higher price (without notices us). 2 computers with internet is located on ground floor.But you may have to wait(too many people). One good thing is that they provide free coffee and tea in the lobby.

It was directly across the street from the train station and right on the lake in Montreaux. There where easy bus stops and places to eat everywhere. The bathrrom was newly done and I had a beuatiful balcony with old windows opening to the street below. It was one of my favorite hotels, ever.

The Suisse Majestic was a lovely hotel, the decor typical of the period probably that it was built. Very comfortable, beds were good, room (lake view) excellent. A central location in Montreux, opposite the station, which is an absolute benefit. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend to others.

The hotel was old (aka- charming). The staff was young and maybe not as experienced as need be for a four star hotel. The rooms were very dimly light and the U.S. converters didn't work in the bathrooms. So we had to plug things up by the bed (unplugging one of only three light sources we had). Trying to get ready with little light was challenging. However there was plenty of light in the bathroom if our converters had worked! Bring your own shampoo, conditioner and soap since what they offer is shampoo/bodywash in one. The walls are super thin. We could hear the people next door every time they used the bathroom. Our clothes reaked of smoke from the room next door. Smoking is allowed everywhere and if you're not a smoker it's not an easy thing to adjust to. The beds were very small and uncomfortable -- very low to the floor and lumpy. The beds and floors sqeaked -- but then again maybe it's that old world charm again. We had no A/C so we had to sleep with the doors open -- which was fine since the nights were cool. However, since we were on the 2nd floor we heard all the street noise!!! So, either don't sleep because its too warm or not sleep due to the noise! We did have a lake view with a private balcony and the view was beautiful. The train station is behind the hotel across the street -- very convenient. Didn't try the restaurant, but heard it was very good. They do have a white wine that was very good. It was just an ok experience. Unfortunately, we wouldn't stay there again.

Wonderful experience except the only meal offered on the terrace was lunch. Would have loved to eat breakfast or dinner on the terrace enjoying the unparalleled view of Lake Geneva. Also, not many restaurants in Montreux compared to most European cities, especially resorts.

Good View and Location. Hotel was a little rundown and overpriced. A little rundown and overpriced. I would try to stay somewhere else, if I ever return to Montreaux. The view of Lake Geneva is excellent.

Very courteous staff, went out of their way to make special accommodations. The hotel needs to invest in refurbishing the property to compete better. The Hotel is conveniently located, across from the Montreux train station. You can get a panoramic view of Lake Geneva from the lobby level; there is easy access to the lake. The rooms are comfortable, with an old world charm. Ours had twin beds and lots of storage space; our request for a crib was taken care of immediately. Since there was no microwave in the room and we had special dietary needs, we requested and received assistance in heating food that we'd carried.

Hotel Grand Suisse was in a perfect location. Our room overlooked Lake Geneva. We had a small balcony overlooking the lake and enjoyed the view as well as nightly entertainment music from the outdoor dining patio below. Room was not very large but adequate for our needs and bathroom was fine. We could walk everywhere we wanted and took the bus to the Chateau Chillon and nearby town of Vevey. We had a lovely visit and would return to this hotel in a heart beat. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was included in the room price and was excellent. Dinner was a disappointment. Outdoor dining and bar venues were lovely. Hotel provided a visitor's card which gave us discounts to attractions and free bus transportaation - very nice.

The hotel has old world charm and was comfortable. The room, as are all Europeam rooms, was on the small side, but was elegant. The view was wonderful and it was great to sit on the balcony. They give you a pass for free bus transportation (very convenient)and discounts on local sights. Although the hotel is very centrally located, it was very quiet. Downside- breakfast is not included and parking is expensive. Parking is at the train station (across from hotel). If you go out on a day trip it is cheaper to pay the hourly rate rather than the hotel rate.
