RoomA very clean if not a little confused room layout, Large screen TV above dressing table but mirror on bedside table, my wifes makeup a bit awkward, bath shower pressure not that good for a high end spec hotel. Breakfast fine but would have preferred freshly cooked, not servery.also ran out late on .All in all a preasant stay with good location to town , harbour and restarants.

A weekend break for 28th anniversaryThis hotel maintains very high standards and excellent service. For £200 per night, I felt the room we had was rather small (we were on the 3rd floor) - just enough space for the king size bed, a small table, one chair and dressing table. Bed very comfortable.

Classy experienceStaying at the Grand in Jersey was a lovely experience. We had fantastic service from the moment we walked in and were made to feel as special as every other guest there. It has a cool terrace for drinks and snacks, but also retains an old world classy charm. The decor is fantastic. Could do with a mirror in the room near a table - although wouldn't complain that in it's place is a huge TV! We may need to come back to watch more films!

Great hotel, really friendly service. Spa area is fab. Really nice breakfast buffet. The only slight problem is one of fairly limited free parking in front of the hotel (about 20 spots) - the other option is the pay car park across the street.

Jersey BreakExcellent staff. Room overlooked a building site hence only average rating. we only had breakfast but this was good. location of hotel in St Helier excellent.

Excellent Hotel in wonderful locationThis is probably one of the oldest and now best hotels in St Helier, following a recent refurbishment. We only stayed a couple of nights for a family celebration, and whilst it is very expensive, (even at late rooms prices) for a special event/ occasion, it was worth it. Staff very attentive but not intrusive, and room service excellent. Victoria's restaurant provides wonderful food, but at a price. Not the place for a family holiday for a week unless you are rich. Loved the place and the service.

A very enjoyable couple of days, very family friendly The booking on-line experience was very easy, really good rates !! The Hotel was lovely and they looked after us very well, the champagne lounge was a treat with some great life music for all the family to enjoy my 8 and 5 year children loved it!!! Thank you for making the last few days of the half term break happy ones and we hope to return back very soon. regards Jo Priaulx

The hotel has recently has an expensive refurbishement and it shows. It is extremely stylishly decorated and furnished with a very luxurious Spa. The Champagne Lounge is a real draw - a wondeful place to start or end the evening. The Deputy GM Thierry Jung made a point of introducing himself and is clearly proud of the hotel. I would certainly recommend it to Londoners looking for a fashionable weekend break -the location is superb and the stylish and comfortable terrace at the front overlooking the beautiful view of Elizabeth Castle and the sea really make it.

All the refurbishment have been completed, and what a difference that has made. No longer the \"Old Tired Grand Lady of Jersey\", but now a truly \"Grand Hotel\" in every sense. Staff are great couldn't be friendlier, and ever helpful. Leisure centre fully opened, New pool slightly smaller than before, with subdued illumination. Wife didn't try the spa. Had couple of meals there. One at the Terrace and another in the Victoria restaurant. Meals were ok, but expensive. Buffet breakfast was fantastic. Children even got to watch a dvd (free) in their own private cinema. Room probably better for couple with 1 child, as our 2 boys (9 & 13) found it a bit of squeeze on the sofa bed. Great location beside the promenade, and wonderful view of Elizabeth castle from the bedroom.

Hotel situation superb. Decor and service wonderful. I think there was lack of a useful mirror. As the huge TV was placed over the 'dressing table' the only mirrors provided were a free standing one by the bed, this was at such an angle it was impossible to do hair or make up using is. Another mirror was in the tray with the hairdryer but this was small and it was very difficult to see into it in a sitting position. Eventually I had to put it on the small table with newspapers underneath so I could see into it without crouching down. This was a shame. Yes, there is a mirror in the bathroom but natural light is needed to put on make up. or use the hairdryer. I was constantly having to move mirrors to get a good view. Also, to use the tea tray kettle the whole tray had to be lifted out of the drawer and had to be placed on the dressing table to be near the plug. This took up a lot of room and was a nuisance when finding a place for the mirror. I seemed to have to keep plugging plugs in and out as everything had to be in the same place. I did get a little frustrated with this. I have to say it would not put me off staying at the hotel.

The childrens menu at dinner was excellent. The 3 course table d'hot menu was excellent value for money at £29.99-could not fault anything. If you prefer there are lots of restaurants a few minutes walk away from the hotel.Location is on the seafront and we had great views of the Elizabeth castle. You do have a busy main road between the hotel and the sea but the double glazing prevented any noise problems.We stayed in January 2008 and they are reconstructing the car park so have arranged an alternative around the corner-not a problem but would have been good to know

Travelled with two children, superb assistance on arrival, nothing too much trouble and room prepared as requested. Staff were consistently excellent throughout our stay. Children very welcome, such as having buckets and spades available if we ran short. Only slight down side was the park facing room with the fun fair opposite - a little bit noisy. However, we packed myself, my wife and two daughters (age 4 and 2) into the one room - cosy but they are good sized rooms. We will most certainly go again.

The Hotel itself is set in a very good position for easy access to St. Helier, the Capital of Jersey and has beach views across the bay. The Service was good and the bedroom comfortable, especially the very comfortable double bed. However, the Hotel is currently undergoing Re-furbishment, which was not stated by Late Rooms.com at the time of booking and therefore we arrived to builders, a lot of noise, drills early in the morning and chaos. There was no toilet to be found near to the breakfast area. We had to go ouside the Hotel and in to another door to reach our Breakfast destination and the heating in out room was turned off. I feel the Staff were trying to make up for the inconvenience with their polite and helpful manner, however this was a huge disappointment to arrive to. I have stayed at the Grand Hotel, Jersey several times and this was the first time I had not enjoyed the stay, due to the disruption. I would return to the Grand Hotel, Jersey, as long as I was made aware of any disruption. I am sure the hotel when completed will be very comfortable. However I feel that perhaps the Hotel should have closed whilst Refurbishment took place.
