This was a beautiful hotel and the staff were very friendly. The rooms are small but very clean and well decorated. The breakfast was lovely. We had a great time. Would definitely recommend this hotel. It is more like a four star hotel

The hotel staff was fabulous. They were extremely polite, helpful, and met all of our needs. The location was great as well, only 5 minutes away from a metro stop. We will definitely stay here again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Some floors were being remodeled and construction was taking place. This hotel had small but nicely appointed rooms. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Location was close to the metro and a small grocery store was across the street. Several good cafes were in walking distance as well.

The room is so typical European style (small) but the breakfast is good. The location is very easy and is so close to the metro and RER station.

This hotel was fantastic. The room was clean and well put together. The concierge was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is located close to the metro, which makes getting around the city easy. There are plenty of wonderful bakeries on the street for breakfast and a a few great local restaurants. I would definitely stay again!

Our experience at the Hotel was great ! My dougther and I specially like the day time clerk. He was extremely helpful, pacient and friendly. He gave us ideas where to go to and explained the Metro system. The location was also very good. The Metro is just down the street. The bed was very confortable and the shower was delicius! I highly recomend this hotel.

I really liked the hotel that we stayed at. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. They spoke good english. The metro was not a minute's walk away from the hotel so it made traveling around paris easier because there's no way you can get lost finding your way back to the hotel once you set off on exploring paris. The only thing I really didn't like was how small the rooms were. It was definately cramped. But the room was spotless and it was relatively always quiet so I always had an easy time sleeping.

Perfect hotel for romantic get away. Lack of shower. Great hotel, friendly and helpful staff, bathrooms are being updated which should make this the perfect hotel for a romantic get away in Paris.

Good location, between two different metro stations (different metro lines)- walking distance to Bastille (approximately 35 mins). Hotel is modern looking, clean and the cold breakfast is great! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be outside the dowtown core, but close enough that you can walk or take the metro into the main city core. The bedding is fantastic!!!

Great hotel, super clean and only about 50 feet from a metro station, which will take you everywhere in Paris. The staff of the hotel was very friendly and eficient, the room was super clean, everything was in working order and the housekeeping service was excellent as well. PAY ATTENTION!!!! THE BREAKFAST FOR ONLY 10 EUROS A DAY IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! :O) Will stay there again next time and surely recommend this hotel to everyone who is going to stay in Paris. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, grocery stores and of course, the Metro.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Clean rooms. Near the metro. We liked the hotel very much. Although a little removed from prime tourist spots, the proximity of the Metro minimizes this shortcoming. The neighborhood is pleasant, with decent restaurants and shopping.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Francais for five nights with my 14 year old grandson. The room was recently renovated and was spotless with modern amenities - flat screen tv, automated wake-up call, shower with jets, and mini refrigerator. The bedding was very comfortable and the room was sound proof. There was some outside traffic noise but I always carry a battery operated sound machine which drowns out the traffic. The staff was very pleasant and helpful they definitely offered the best front desk help that I have ever received while traveling in the US and Internationally. The hotel is convenient to two Metro stops - Nation and Rue des Boulets. We preferred Rue des Boulets which is two minutes from the hotel and we would often transfer on the Metro line to line 9 so that we could get off there. There is a grocery store directly across the street and several restaurants in the immediate area. The Post Office is around the corner and is a good place to exchange money to euros.

The Au Grand Hotel Francais was perfectly fine and had a very friendly front desk staff. The rooms are being remodeled (we were the first occupants of our room after remodel) in a stylish modern decor. I loved the multispray shower - one of the sprays hit just the right spot in my lower back! The hotel is a little off the beaten path, but in a nice, quiet neighborhood and close to a metro / RER station making it as close to all of the Paris attractions as most any other hotel not within walking distance of the Eiffel tower. I thought that this hotel was a good value (by Paris standards) and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Friendly staff. They were most helpful and spoke excellent English. This hotel is quite off beaten path for sightseeing. This is a very nice hotel. It is small, and I like that. The staff at the desk were extremely helpful and entertaining and gave excellent directions in English. The rooms are well appointed, and by European standards, roomy. The only thing we found inconvenient was the distance to major sites of interest--the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, etc. It is quite a distance, and if you chose to travel by taxi, as we did late one evening from the Eiffel Tower, the taxi will cost you more than 20 euros. I might stay there again, if I were particularly wanting to visit the Bastille and other sites in that area.

Upon arriving at this hotel, we were immediately upgraded and give the best room in the hotel. Although the rooms are on the small side we were very comfortable for the week we spent in Paris. Towels were large and soft, bed was big and comfortable. We had three windows, all opening onto a small balcony over-looking the street, but the room ws very quiet. Anything we were missing they were able to provide, even a converter for charging our camera battery! It ws a wonderful first exerience for us in France! We would definitely return!

The hotel was charming. We were nervious going to a new unknown city and choosing a hotel on line. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room ,though smaller by US standards, was well designed, attractive, and very clean. The bed was comfortable We will return.
