Escape from the real worldWe love this hotel. This was our third visit, and will be going back soon. We went for an Easter break, and although the hotel was full we didn't feel at all crowded. Some reviewers haven't been happy about the dated 1980s mock Victorian decor, and lack of power showers etc, and they do have a point. However, the feeling of space and luxury of the common areas, the cheerful service and the feeling of being cosseted from the real world more than compensate. Our 8 year old son loved the huge bed, the milk and cookies, the easter egg, the goody bag, the swimming pools (he insisted on using the outdoor one in April) and finding his bed had been turned down every night and his toys carefully stacked up.Breakfast are very good with loads of choice. As with any buffet arrangement, you have to time your visit to the hot area just after a fresh batch has been brought out to avoid the frisbee egg effect. It's just a lovely place.

Beautiful hotelBeautiful hotel, very welcoming staff and spotlessly clean everywhere. Not sure that £25 for two, two slice sandwiches and a bowl of chips can be classed as value for money but overall weekend was a nice treat and we would go back.

Our stay at the Grand EastbourneWe loved every minute at The Grand, we used a lot of the facilities too. The food at every meal including afternoon tea was excellent, couldn't fault food or service in any way. Would go back again.

The whole ambience of the hotel was first class. Service was excellent but unobtrusive. Our only slight disappointment was the Mirabelle restaurant. Again the service was first class, but the quality of the food was not value for money. In short, it was bland. My starter of venison and wild boar sausage was overdone and my braised shin of beef was lacking in taste.

Great hotel, staff always very professional and helpful. Just what you would expect from a five star hotel.

the grand is indeed very grand!pros...an amazing place...wonderful building, beautiful room, lovely food, pleasent, professional staff...both awesome and relaxing...what more can i say...( you get what you pay for)cons...non really, except that we wanted to have tea by the very elaborate fire place and christmas tree but we 'moved on' as this area needed to be reserved prior to frequenting it (which we didn't know) perhaps a little disappointing and left us feeling slightly as if we were 2nd class citizens...but only for a few moments

The customer service was excellent and we would certainly return. We felt thoroughly spoilt, which was our intention! The only let down was that one of the showers was out of order in the Health Club. Also, I booked myself in for the stone therapy and the machine wasn't working properly, so I couldn't have the full treatment that I would have liked. Apart from this, the whole experience was wonderful, as one would expect of a 5 star hotel.

Lovely hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice to get an upgrade on the room. Thought the garden restaurant was a bit over priced. Would have liked the option to eat a la carte rather than having to pay for a 3 course meal.

5 star surroundings and good location on the seafront. We were upgraded to a sea view and the room was a good size. I see others have complained about lack of flat screen TV, but the TV we had worked fine, so it didnt bother us. We ate in the Mirabelle restaurant which was pricey but good, with a live pianist. Breakfast was good but, as ever, I was surprised that a 5 star hotel has a hot buffet rather than cooked to order. Maybe all big hotels do this? Excellent staff and customer service - they even found and posted on something I had left in the room. Would definitely recommend (at Laterooms prices)

Scores high on \"feel good\" factor, with splendid surroundings and helpful staff. Our only niggle was that tea/coffee making facilities would have been appreciated in such an expensive hotel.

A really enjoyable stay. The staff were so attentive and very proffessional at all times. Our room was beautiful and extremely clean. A family relative had a private luncheon and the food was delicious. Can not wait to stay there again.

From the arrival to departure we were treated like Royalty, the service was excellent throughout, and the food just exceptional.I would recommend you try this even it is for just a night.
