Through the travel website, I had to find a Hotel in Florence quickly to visit my ailing son studying in Florence. The Baglioni's location, beautiful, comfortable room with modern bath and minibar and complementary full breakfast in their top floor dining room overlooking all of Florence was a real bargain and treat. This past week I stayed at the very pricey Westin Excelsior which I had booked leisurely in January and found it very inferior to the Baglioni. Their complete breakfast (inferior to the Baglioni's and served in a dark, cavernous room) cost 39 Euro. The room was smaller, had no "Heavenly Bed", and had inferior housekeeping. The Baglioni was only 2 blocks away...wished I'd stayed there again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Baglioni Florence. We are from Australia and booked this hotel well in advance. From the first instance. The room was so nice, the maid was so good. The room was kept clean. We had dinner at the lovely restaurant twice it was excellent. We were sorry to leave. We recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back again when visiting Florence.

On check-in, the staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I stayed seven nights so the person at check-in gave us a free room upgrade. The room was extremely large even compared to US standards. The room had a 20 ft ornate wooden ceiling and a wooden parquet floor. It was wonderful. Free breakfast on the top floor restaurant was great - both for the food and the view of the city! The Grand Hotel Baglioni Florence had a great location being next to the train station and in the heart of the old city. We could walk to all the major city sites in just minutes. Plus, there are many fine restaurants within a minute walk from the hotel. Just a few steps from the hotel is an underground walkway to the train station which is nice since you can take day trips out of Florence to Pisa, Venice or any one of the many great Tuscan hill villages. Plus, it has a bus stop just outside the front door, too. 20 Euro cab ride from the airport to hotel but you can take a bus from the airport. My advice is to spring for the cab. It?s much faster. When I return to Florence, I will stay here again. It was wonderful. The architecture and art of this hotel matched the famed architecture and art of Florence.

Wonderfully located just across the street from Santa Maria Novella Station, but still very quiet. I had a lovely view of the Duomo from my room. Great breakfast included.

I was dissapointed with the Grand Hotel Baglioni Florence as I feel it didnt match up with image portrayed on net. The decor of the room was not to my liking and was quite dark. Apart from this room was clean breakfast very good and location was handy as we came straight from train station its directly opposite. I was a bit annoyed that the roof garden was out of bounds as a wedding party had it booked out.It was one reason I had booked the hotel in first place. On the whole it was fine good breakfast and centrally located and clean. It would have been perfect if we had got a nicer room thats all.

This is a very nice hotel for those traveling by train as it is about 100 yards away from the main station in Florence. It is a large property & our room was a delightful surprise, being large & rather elegant with wooden floors, lots of closets, & a lovely carved wooden ceiling. My only letdown here was the dining room which never seemed to be open. Our first evening it was booked for a private party & the second we got there at the wrong times & had to search elsewhere for a meal. I would definitely book here again, but would research places to eat elsewhere before arriving.

The hotel was fabulous as good as the other Baglioni hotels in Italy and also in London. Fabulous value for money considering the status of the hotel. Wonderful staff - very helpful and fluent English, great restaurant where the food was as good as you would get in any restaurant any where in the world. Loved the roof terrace for dinner, drinks and dancing to a live musician and also the breakfast room on the same level with the views of the city and the hills. Will recommend to friends and also stay again.

Funny smell in hotel. Had to walk a long way through several hallways to get to room. Walls seemed paper thin and I had to listen to a woman talking on the phone at 2 a.m. When I arrived I was offered no assistance with my bags or a description of how to reach the room.

Fantastic hotel, lovely decorative style, clean spacious rooms. Loved the roof top terrace with a view over Florence! However, location isnt the nicest, while handy for the train station this also brings the problems normally associated with areas around train stations! Very busy and grubby. This is soon forgotten once you are inside. Also found breakfast a little poor for this standard of hotel, but set in a lovely dinning room.

A Grand hotel in a great location with a staff that wants to make things ""easier"" for the traveler. Access to a parking garage and valet was wonderful. Ever drive in Florence?

This was our favorite hotel during our stay in Italy. The location is great - a short walk to the train station and to many of the museums and historical attractions. The hotel staff was very helpful and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was very good and the dinner in the restaurant was also good. OUr room was quite large and very well furnished. We had a few questions before our trip and the hotel was very prompt with e-mail responses to our questions. We will definitely stay here agian.

My wife and I just returned from a week long stay at the Baglioni. We loved Florence and we loved the hotel, It is in a great location. Close to the shops, sites, train station, and bus tours. The staff was also great. They are very helpful and friendly. The bed was a little hard but I think that is just the way it is in Italy. I highly recommend the Grand Hotel Baglioni Florence to anyone traveling to Florence. I know this is where we will stay when we return to Florence.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Baglioni and in Florence in general. My only disappointment with the Baglioni was that it did not have No-Smoking rooms. We were told at reception that the rooms are cleaned thoroughly after each guest. The room was very clean, but I could still smell smoke, either from the previous guest or from the neighbouring guests. I expect that such a high class hotel would have entire floors dedicated to no-smoking guests.

Lovely 5 day stay for our 40th wedding anniversary. Restaurant menu did not change during our stay therefore eating out was essential. Although breakfast spread over 3+ hours we had to queue each morning and the organisation was rather chaotic! Sometimes also had a disappointing wait for hot food to be replenished. However, overall the hotel and staff were as expected for a four star, city centre major hotel.

The hotel has very helpful and professional staff (the front desk staff speak English!). It is conveniently located about 1 block from the train station and it is just a few steps from the tour bus pick-ups. It is also within walking distance (10 minutes to 30 minutes) of all the sights (Duomo, Academia, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Boboli gardens, shopping). The hotel has a beautiful breakfast room (great hot/cold breakfast) with large panoramic windows that look out on Florence, it also has an outdoor multi level terrace that gives incredible views on Florence at night. We loved our stay here!
