Ideal location; large, and pleasant room. Room service dinner meal was disappointing.

King mattress had two noticable body impressions which left a raised section in the centre of the bed. As my wife and I generally sleep close to each other the raised area tended to make us roll to the outer sides. Other than that it was an very enjoyable stay.

Our room overlooked the harbour which was magnificent as the Wooden Boat Festival was on, however, the room is a little worse for wear and the lack of attention to the little things like keeping the footpath clean in front of the hotel is what stops the Grand Chancellor getting the extra half star. Overall a pleasant experience.

Not the grand hotel it once was but is still a nice place to stay and the ocean view rooms have an excellent view especially from higher floors

fantastic position right on the dock area, great views, friendly service, although drinks are VERY expensive at the bar.

This hotel is one of the best hotels that I have stayed in. All of the staff were extremely helpful with everything and the hotel is in an excellent location, close to the shops and dining areas. The meals that we had at the hotel were excellent and at a good price for the quality and quantity that we received. I look forward to staying at the Grand Chancellor Hotel again when we venture to Tasmania in the future.

Great location, very helpful staff and a very enjoyable stay. Lots of couches to use when waiting for friends, relaxed atmosphere - I would recommend it.

We were offered an upgrade on check in which we took (and paid for). Great location and staff were helpful.

good location for the convenience of shops, bars etc, however traffic noise very bad, didn't think we would hear so much being so far up.

Great location of the waterfront, very close to all the nice restaurants and Salamanca Place is only a 5min stroll away. The Buffet Breakfast is fantastic also! The rooms could do with a little refreshing, the furniture, carpets and bathrooms appear to be a little old. But overall, great place to stay.

Staff are friendly and very helpful. Located centrally the hotel is close to entertainment etc and has delightful, relaxing views. We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

There was a problem with our booking and it took them an unacceptably long time to sort it out and then when we checked out, we had to go through another delay. On the plus side, the location is magnificent and the rooms are very comfortable but starting to date - e.g. small tv, noisy aircon fan, etc. At least breakfast was very good! I may stay there again but it would depend on price.

A very pleasant hotel right in the heart of Hobart. We had only one minor quibble: the noise from traffic was annoying although this could be dealt with effectively by double glazing.

Good accommodation right opposite the markets and pier. Rooms are fine but needs a little T.L.C.

This hotel was quite nice with awesome views of Hobart. Room had everything you needed.. the only problem was that the water took too long to go down the sink so you'd have to wait a few minutes between people. Pool and gym were cool. Walking distance to the centre of town and right accross the road from the marina...great seafood restaurant there. Hotel has a nice lobby and a restaurant and bar where you can have a quiet drink and chat. A bit cheesed off that breakfast was not included with the price paid and you had to pay extra to park the car. But overall a recommended hotel to stay in Hobart.

good position, spacious room, nice views. Overall good value and I would return. Things that could improve....The TV in the room was a bit small, the gym cardio equipment too old and the restaurant downstairs overpriced for quality.
