This was our second time to stay at The Grand Cayman Beach Suites. Peviously they were Hyatt Beach Suites and we wondered if it would be the same great experience. We are happy to report... It was excellent. Great service, fabulous room, and relaxing time. We will return.

Our suite was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pools were small. The Hyatt building housing the beach front suites seems to have been completely renovated with no signs of hurricane damage to it. We were in a lovely suite located on the 4th floor. Our suite had a bedroom, a spacious bathroom, a living room/dining room area and a kitchenette. We also had a large patio with a fantastic view of the pools and the sea. The hotel food was good but not outstanding. We never felt that the property was crowded. We always found beach/pool chairs available whether we got there in the morning or in the afternoon. There were lots of families with kids, likely on Easter break like us. The kids (10 years old and under) were really loud, so I would not suggest this hotel for couples seeking quiet and romance during school breaks.

Very nice rooms. Clean. A beer at the bar was $7. Oh well, that is Cayman.

The beach (seven mile beach). There's no internet access. Arrived later than scheduled time, but checking-in was smooth, standard room was not available due to hurricane Ivan destroyed them. So, they offered me a suite room, which I accepted. The room has nice ocean view....etc,etc.... I promise I'll be back there!

It was a great hotel. great location. it was close to everything. It was very quiet. Maybe the only thing i could complain is that there was not enough activity at the night. T Maybe because this is off peak season, but everything else was great. Also i was hoping to be at the beach and order drinks but they did not have this service at the beach. to eat you had to go to the pool or the restaurants.

Great location on the beach and beautiful suite type room. Pools are small. Great hotel on a great beach.

We went there mainly to relax and do some Scuba diving. The location was perfect. A scuba center was located on site. I would stay at the Beach Suites again.

This is the old Hyatt. It's a very unassuming property from the outside but the service, interior suites, food, service/staff, and location are really top-notch. The onsite restaurants are some of the best in Cayman. Red Sail sports is located on the property (best shop on the island) and makes diving and watersports super easy and very safe. The strip of 7-mile beach is the best you can get. Only downsides, few rooms look right over the water and balcony views are good but not the best (you can't hear the ocean lapping at your door). Also, seems like a good family place and we noticed lots of kids - not a bad thing, but if you want adult-time with total peace and quiet, there are kids around (well behaved, but none the less, kids). And, the bar drinks are very pricey, but that's true of all Cayman resorts. This was a great first experience - whether you stay there or just visit, don't miss the restaurants and Red Sail sports - really amazing!

Needed a period of peace and quiet just to recharge the batteries. Couldn't have chosen a better hotel for this purpose. Right on one of the best parts of the 7-mile beach. Water is heavenly, why even bother to consider going into the pool (even though it is where the bar is located). Home base for Red Sails Dive Shop from which all water sports originate. Good setup for beach chairs and towels. In nearby Buckingham Square is truly excellent Ragazzi restaurant.

The suites were very spacious and clean and the hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful. It would have been nice to have some entertainment and a bar that stayed open long enough to cater to the sunset watchers but I can't complain too much because the sunsets were beautiful and provided plenty of entertainment by itself. The restaraunts on the hotel property are fabulous and worth the money. The restaurant across the street - Decker's - is also one of our favorites and if you're there on Tuesday's, they have all you can eat lobster. Come prepared though as most of the plates we had there had more food than we both could eat. Water sports are plentiful at the beach and can be booked at the hotel. The Red Sail company is located on the hotel property and has sunset sails, dinners, trips to Stingray city, dive trips, Rum Point trips, ski-doos, water trikes, kayaks, you name it. Unfortunately we arrived on 5/19 and our luggage didn't. On 5/20 there was a national holiday and 99% of the shops were closed so we had a pretty hectic first day trying to find some swim suits to be able to get some water action. Our luggage arrived the night of 5/20 which we thought was far too long a wait but it was the airlines fault - nothing to do with the hotel.

The staff was teriffic, friendly, knowledgable, and professional. The Hotel Location is perfect for walking to some of the best restaurants and bars on 7 mile beach and Red Sail Sports is a top notch dive shop located within the resort.

The GCBS are a very nice size, clean and have a refrigerator, microwave and toaster which came in handy for breakfast/lunch. The ocean is just steps away and there is a reef not far for snorkeling. We really enjoyed how you did not have to fight for a beach chair and the pool chairs were the same. The pool was nice with swim up bar and the bar is so close to the beach it's great for just relaxing. We travel to different destinations in the Caribbean at least once a year. We are in our 40s and we like snorkeling, swimming, boat trips and nice dinners. Grand Cayman does not have a lot of night life but is great for everything I mentioned. Like most reviews it's a little on the high side but manageable. We upgraded our room to have a full balcony which was nice to sit out and have breakfast and grocery store has everything you would need and is a 5 min. walk. Our goal was to relax and stay on the beach and we accomplished that we always had dinner at restaurants on the beach and then we would walk home each night. Since we only had lunch out a couple of times we choose higher end dinners. Luca was favorite great pasta as an appetizer (and coming from the east coast were not really looking for past but this was very good) and the fish was also great. For both us that rated as a favorite however, I (female) really enjoyed The Ritz (Blue) and both were my favorite. Cautions with Blue portions are not big and very expensive. It was some of the best tuna tartar I have ever eaten, great fish, great service and great wine. Casa Havana was great and Hemingway's on the property also very good. We did try the sushi restaurant at GCBS and I unfortunately would not recommend that we should have tried deckers. Another notable detail on Grand Cayman was not seeing one solicitor on the beach and a reasonably safe feeling when walking home each night. Stingray city was worth the trip and very different.

From the moment we walked in to the lobby, we were greated with smiles and champagne! Once we got to our room, we realized that we were upgraded and they delivered a small plate of fruit for us to enjoy. Essentially, this is how it went during our entire stay. Whatever we needed, whatever questions we had the staff was ready to help us out and give us what we needed, no matter how mundane. We truly felt welcome! I'd also like to state the bartenders pool side were awesome. So friendly, helpful and just a good group of guys. And perfect location! You walk right out onto the softest, cleanest sand I've seen in a long while. This was truly a relaxing stay.

Check in scared me. Walking in the check in desk/area looked cheap and they had two people who didn't know how to check us in. However once into the room everything was amazing. The room was great beautiful bedroom, great views, nice balcony overlooking pools and ocean. The housekeeping staff was great nice and room service took longer than other hotels for the size, though everything was good. Overall great experience.

Great hotel for couples as it is small and intimate. The staff from concierge to chamber maids were all very friendly and efficent. The room/suites are very comfortable with plenty of room, having a seperate bedroom was a bonus! There are basic kitchen facilities so you can provide for yourself if so inclined. Linens were in great condition, crisp white bedding. Bathrooms spacious 2 sinks seperate toilet and again all very clean and well maintained.a The hotel is located about half way down 7 mile beach so you are really in the hub of activity. The hotel has its own golf course which is literally accross the road. Also adjoining the hotel is a water sports company. Both restaurants on site were good, we especially enjoyed Bamboo (Modern Japanese) which is also a late night bar. Lots of really good eating in the near vacinity. Gym/Fitness centre was excellent, clean and nice modern equipment. We would definitely stay here again. It is a really cool place

If you love the beach, this is a great place. Small but adequate bedroom, nice bathroom and amenities, adequate living room with small kitchenette. Footsteps from beach and very friendly staff. Highly recommend!

The room was much larger than an average hotel room as we had a large living room with pull out couch, microwave, refrigerator, separate bedroom, two telivisions, desk etc. There is a vanity/tub/shower area separate from the toilet area. Our room did not have a balcony where you could sit outside. Only some rooms did. There were balconys with chairs outside our rooms and a roof deck to sit outside. The pool area was quite nice - right next to the beach. Never crowded. The restaurants they have a quite nice, small manageable size. The food quality was good for breakfast. The Saturday Morning Buffett is excellent. The onsite Sushi restaurant lacked meal items for non sushi lovers. Prices are extremely high for everything - an alcoholic drink was 10-12 USD for simple drinks. There is no little shop to purchase small items like snacks, postcards or beverages. The shops they do have are very small with only the basics. The beach was clean, despite a near miss by Hurricaine Gustav a week earlier. Beach chairs are not well maintained - dirty. The towel hut at the beach was not maintained during late afternoon so it was serve yourself. There is no /limited waitress service at the beach or pool as only one person staffed the entire area. I would probably not stay there again. If you like a small intimate place, then this could be the right place. Onsite Red Sail Sports for those who like diving is a plus!

very nice suites, gorgeous views, pricey hotel restaurants. our experience was wonderful and we were actually planning to stay again for our next trip but sadly we donot feel comfortable. we know we did not do any damageto room and we payed our food and room charge the day we left.

The Grand Cayman Beach Suites hotel was well run, clean, friendly with a very accommodating staff. Our 1 bedroom oceanview suite was comfortable, nicely decorated, with a balcony with table and chairs. We really enjoyed the view from the room, as well as the turn down service. The only thing that could be improved on is the quality of the mattress on the pullout sofa bed, which was very thin. The location of the hotel was great, and the convenience of having Red Sail Sports on the premises was very convenient. The beach was clean, not a lot of rocks, and the ocean was beautiful. Restaurants were wonderful with terrific service. One suggestion would be to have sand chairs as well as lounge chairs.
