The resort was beautiful, the grounds and the rooms were clean! The only complaint we have: How sanitary are the kitchen areas. My husband was very ill with runs and projectile vomiting. It didn't hit me until we got home. Please note the beach is not crystal clear blue. It's more like the beach at a lake. So if you're looking for crystal clear this is not the place!

the hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating.food was excellent and a large variety that was changed every day. the only down side the alcohol beverages were of low quality. a perfect vacation resort for all.

My husband and I go to the Dominican Republic every month. We always stay at a different resort and always have had a wonderful time there. This time however was a nightmare. We had a late arrival and soon after arriving at the front desk we were told that our reservation was never received from our online travel website; hence, they did not honor our prepaid booking. We asked to speak to the Manager to try to solve the issue but we received nothing but bad service and rejection. Supposedly the hotel was full and there was no room available. We immediately got on the phone with the online travel website to solve the problem. Not knowing that our biggest problem was yet to come. We were immediately told by the General Manager and his security crew that we needed to leave the premises. We did not have the right to be at the front desk he said, so we went into the rental car while we were on the phone with the online website to workout a solution. Security once again informed us that we were not even allowed to be in the parking lot and we were told once again that we needed to leave the premises completely. When I peacefully refused to leave I was informed that excessive force shall be used against us if we did not leave within 15 minutes. This was very degrading, frustrating and traumatizing. One do not expect this from the General Manager at a 5-star resort. I never would have thought this would ever happen to anyone and let alone to me. I strongly suggest everyone reading this review not to go to that resort. Offensive treatments should not be tolerated. There are many other great resorts in the Dominican Republic that you could consider!!!

When my husband my 18 month old son and I first arrived to the hotel we were very tired and hungry from traveling all day. We pulled up to a gorgeous hotel with marble floors and beautiful landscaping. Check in went smoothly except they did make us go print out our itinerary from [...]. I guess this was to prove who we were but didn't really make sense to me. We did not check in until 8pm but the buffet was open until 10:30 so we headed straight for the food. I can honestly say I was disappointed in the food the first day. We were really looking forward to the Dominican cuisine but instead they were serving more of an asian style buffet. We both wanted a cocktail after dinner and went to the bar which to my surprise did not serve a traditional Dominican Rum "Brugal" instead they had a very cheap version of all the liquors (I believe it was called Normady) or hangover in a bottle if you know what I mean. I soon learned that for about $4 extra you could get the better labled liquors like absolut or Ron Barcelo. The room was big with vaulted ceilings and they had a cooler stocked with soda and water. The next few days we ate plenty at the buffet and very much enjoyed the food. The staff was very kind but did not speak much English. I was ok because my husband is fluent in Spanish. The pool is huge with a swim up bar and the beach is only a few steps from the pool so it was very convenient. You are able to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants each night. We only had a chance to eat at the Italian restaurant and it was amazing. I would suggest making reservation right when you get there or they run out of room. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would definitly return.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, very grand and lux! They serve sooo much food and its all delicious. I abosultey loved the concept of a bar inside the pool. They have great activies planned thru-out the day. The only thing was at nite, there wasnt much to do. The shows where a bit late and not that exciting. The dance club didnt open till 12 am and the live band started at 11 pm. Plus there is nothing near the hotel. You will need to rent a taxi, which is quite expensive. Overall the hotel is a great getaway.

This was a great place to stay. I just returned from my trip today and have nothing but positive memories to reflect upon. The resort was clean, modern and had the best staff around. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The pool was absolutely beautiful and the rooms quite comfortable. The meals were quite satisfactory and all of the staff did their best to ensure that guests were pleased. It was quite a restful place to be. My only complaints are rather minor. The fitness center is badly in need of an update, although the machines did function. It desperately needs some more modern equipment. I also feel there could have been more diversity with the evening activities. There was a show every night, which became rather reduntant. Maybe some group board games or something to break up the monotony, especially during this time as it rains quite a bit. My only other hangups were that breakfast ended to early for those who like to sleep in. They stopped serving it in the restaurant at 10:30 a.m. Lastly, the resort is a significant distance from the airport (approximately an hour away) and the resport could stand to have its own shuttle. Outside of those minor challenges, I would definitely visit again, albeit not during their rainy season, which was by no fault of the report. In fact, the wonderful staff seemed to be very sympathetic to the guests about it.
