Grainger Hotel - Not goodA very basic room. Very small indeed. The worst thing however was the provision of soap in the shower room which had been used by previous guests - YUK. Positively disgusting. Even in the third world, hotels provide new bars of soap. I would definitely never stay here again.

hotel is being decorated rooms are refurbished still smelling of fresh paint, alittle strong at night. Staff freindly and helpfull. Breakfast very basic cont., would have been nice to have say boild eggs or cooked meats. Would stay again for over night stop. Parking is secure costing £5 per night.

my stayNice and friendly staff in reception area, spacious entrance lobby and nicely laid out. I did raise an issue with the tv not working and the duty manager offered to see what could be done which was very good but my stay wasn't long enough for me to warrant watching tv. However I did think the price could have been cheaper as the room was quite small compared to other budget hotels at the same price. The breakfast was a little bit disappointing overall not much choice of warm food except toast. I suggest that the Grainger hotel is good at what it provides.. a bed for the night and that is your lot. Kind regardsGT

good choicethis hotel was perfect location for us. we were on a hen weekend and wanted somewhere quite central. the rooms were tidy and comfy, and perfect for what we wanted(a place to crash after a night on the town)!!! the fire alarm did go off at 5am in the mornin but we all just rolled over and ignored!! breakfast was ok, a choice of full english if you wanted it would of been nice, but overal a very nice place to stay. will stay again if ever in area!

H'way for the weekendOn arrival booking in was cery easy, although how the man found my name in his diary I will never know (I have never seen so many things written on one page). There were four of us in twin rooms and both rooms were nicely cleaned and the bathrooms in excellent condition. The only real criticism of the hotel was the breakfast. Cereal, bread for toasting, cake and fruit, could have done with a bit more choice. Also be warned if out at the weekend, some of your neighbours may well arrive between 2 and 5 in the morning.Overall very good value for money

the only problem was the insulation - everything happening in the neighbouring rooms and the corridor was heard too well; we often had a feeling during the night that someone was about to enter our room.

Satisfied CustomerThe Grainger is a nice hotel about 20 mins uphill walk from Newcastle Train Station on a straight road. Was greeted by well presented and spoken gentleman. I had double room with ensuite. Room was as per photo's and was clean and window looked onto the main road. Bed was comfy and well has good big Tv. Breakfast was help yourself, and was quite a selection of fruit, so grapes, melon, cherries as well as standard apples etc. Also cereals and bread for toast. Was nt fruit juice but that sweet juice drink. For 35quid via late rooms, it was a good deal and could nt argue.

Clean, tidy and close to the QuaysideWanted somewhere to stay that was not too far from the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle. Check in was straight forward, secure parking for an extra £5 was worth it for the peace of mind. Went with my 5 year old daughter and had a twin en-suite room, with a small shower cubile, toilet & hand basin, which was fine for our 1 night stay. We thought it was good value, as it was clean & tidy and reception was open 24 hours and called us a taxi to get to the Metro Arena which took 5 minutes to arrive at the Hotel & a further 5 minutes to arrive at the Arena. Good base for a good value stay in clean but modest surroundings.

the ensuite room is nicei like my ensuite room. the bathroom was clean and quite what I expected. the room was a bit small but it will do. the coffee making facilities was good. the flat screen TV was awesome. the only problem is maybe it is quite noisy in the morning with all the traffic noises, but at night it was not that bad at all..Overall say, i love this place and would recommend all people to go there. I would definitely come again if i have the chance.

Grainger Hotel a good place to stayFound this hotel to be very clean and friendly, room had everything you need, someone on reception all the time, secured car park on premises, within walking distance from town centre. Continental breakfast good but i would prefer less fresh fruit (there is a big choice) and maybe a fruit salad instead but overall very good, would definetely recommend and will book there again.
