This Hotel was in extremely good location to Grafton Street (the shopping street). A 10 minute walk to Temple Bar. The hotel room was very nice and clean, beds were comfortable! Check in and Check out was efficient. The hotel was situated opposite a couple of Cafes, a pub and there was a nightclub next door, which meant entry was free for those staying at this hotel. However, didn't find the staff all that helpful and the music from the nightclub went on until 2am. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and I would most definitely stay there again.

A Great Night's Sleep on 5th Floor When I arrived on the Sunday night around 8pm, I thought I had made a big mistake as there was loud music coming from the bar. However, on retrurning after a meal in town around 10pm, the place was pleasantly quiet and I had a great night's sleep. I think it would be important to ascertain at what time the music was likely to stop before booking this hotel.

in the center of DublinThe hotel was great. A nice change from the rooms we had in Rome and Paris. It was a little slice of home. Great place to stay for an average price.

Quality of roomThe water was cold, so couldn't have a shower or bath. The double glazing didn't work, so it was really noisy, as the hotel has a bar on the gorund floor which is open until 3am!

Grafton Capital March 2009The hotel was located in a great central location just round the corner from the main shopping area of Grafton street with Marco Pierre White's new Bar and grill 'Fitzers' a 10 minute walk away. However within the same building as the hotel there is a bar/restaurant and club which is situated directly under some of the hotel rooms. We did not experience a problem with this as we were out until 2.30am ourselves and would suggest that you only stay here if you are planning to go out until late. The staff in the hotel reception couldn't be more helpful and even searched the internet to find the location of the restaurant we had reservations at that night and marked it on a map for us. The room was traditional in style with dark wood furniture but only had one bedside lamp to light the whole room. The bathroom was quite basic and a little tired. Overall the hotel is a budget option in a central location for people that are going to dublin for a maximum of two nights to sample the delights of Temple bar!

The double bed was not comfortable at all, infact it was two single beds pushed together

Night club under hotel.Wednesday night is Student night. At 3.00 in the morning students can only converse in screams of extremely high decibels, even louder than the fire alarm which went off for several seconds.Bouncers should clear the area, or keep the noise down, preferably with the use of a hose pipe.

ive stayed at the grafton several times now and and i do really like it for convenience and accessability to all attractions and nightlife but i do feel the place is beginning to look tired especially the bathrooms showers are a joke ! some staff on reception are helpful but others didnt give you the time of day . i think i would certainly look around at other hotels on my next visit.

Central location, all in-room facilities and good value

This hotel was right near the Grafton Street Shopping centre and not from from the nightlife, in fact i think there is a nightclub under the hotel...I must admit that although I liked the hotel the stay was marred byt the fact that although the hotel was non smoking -- after the maid had cleaned the room it was very smoky smelling.. I did inform reception but heard no more.

The fact that this centrally located hotel was one of the only ones still available at the time of booking on a very busy Dublin weekend should have flagged a warning that it wasn't the wonderful place it made itself out ot be. We were hopeful on arrival...the exterior was clean in good condition, however, as soon as we walked into the tiny dark reception area with it's abrupt receptionist who I never saw with a smile on her face for our entire 4 day stay, we started to suspect that we had made a mistake. One of the lifts was out of order and the other seemed to have a mind of it's own as we made our way to a 5th floor room which appeared to be stuck in a 90's timewarp judging by the decor. The hotel really had nothing going for it in terms of charm...although our room faced the front of the hotel we had a sterling view of the multi storey carpark opposite, which made the already dark room even more oppressive. The piece de resistance however was the bathroom which looked as if it had been tiled by a child! The grout was discoloured and falling out in places, which was made worse by the fact that the bathroom wall tilted inwards making space in the shower very limited and as a result I had to stand far closer to the filthy wall than I'd have liked. The bath was revoltingly dirty and there is no way I would have immersed myself in it. Finally, we discovered the nail in the coffin of this establishment...the metal rod poking through a tear in the mattress (on both sides) which gouged a chunk out of my leg as I stood up one morning. The disturbance from the club downstairs was disruptive, but something we had been aware of before we came. The ambience and poor service of the place however was not and I would strongly urge anyone not to stay here if there is any other alternative!

Rooms at the front of the hotel are rather noisy due to street life below. Ask for a room at the back if possible.

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend on a Saturday and Sunday night. The hotel is clean and the rooms are of a nice standard. BUT it is located above a nightclub, not attached, and until 3 am on the both nights we were kept awake by the very loud music coming up through the floors. We could clearly hear all the words to songs even though we were two floors above it. When we complained the second day, the receptionist said she would ensure the noise levels were reduced that night as it shouldn't have been so loud. That night it was worse than the first night. I complained again, a friendly German night receptionist who could only move us to a 4th floor room. It made NO difference and we were forced to get ear plugs so we could sleep. We had to catch an early flight and only have got 4 hours sleep after all disruptions. It is a pity as it is well located.

Location was good, very handy to Grafton St and St Stephens Green. Only downside was a little bit of people noise outside at night, and road-works outside the window in the morning. Room was perfectly adequate for the price, and price included complimentary wifi (pick up voucher from reception) and satisfactory Irish and/or continental breakfast. Staff were friendly. I would recommend this as a stock standard hotel, in a good location.
