The reviews I had read for this hotel were uneven, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean, quiet room, a comfortable bed, and friendly, helpful staff. My only complaint was the cold coffee served with the complementary breakfast one morning. Perhaps that was an oversight. To be fair I didn't complain but simply ducked out to a coffee shop down the street to get my fix. Coffee the next morning was piping hot. You can't beat the location of The Governor. One bonus: they let me and my buddy store our bikes in our room. We had biked to Olympia, so that was an important factor in choosing where to stay. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Olympia.

Dirty and due for a restoration.Visible dirt in elevator. Stained carpets. Lousy heat/cool system in room. Stained bathroom fixtures. Great location and view.

We have stayed in the Olympia area several times in the last few years, but the first time staying at the Governor Hotel. We liked the location, the view of Capitol Lake from our room, and being within walking distance to downtown.

We had moved to this hotel from another down the street which was terrible, and we were very pleased with the whole Governor Hotel experience. Bathroom didn't have a fan, and room was too warm, even with AC on high. Elevator was noisy and somewhat scary, but seemed to work just fine. We'd definitely stay there again. Location was the best, and the staff was even better!

We have used the Governor Hotel when when visiting our new grandson in Olympia and like being close to downtown eateries/shopping and only five minutes from grandson. The staff nows us now and take great care of us and love seeing the young one too!

The staff was excellent even when the toilet overflowed. Some of the rooms obviously need to be modernized. Friendly atmosphere and a great location. The breakfast included with the room was average at best.

The governor hotel has a good location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The coffee maker didn't have a carafe and the headboard fell off the wall. However the location across from the park was very nice.

I've always liked the people at this hotel, and the downtown location is central to most of my needs. The hotel DOES need refurbishing badly, as does the town in general. This has never been a problem until I was stuck on an elevator in the middle of the day, and had to be rescued by the local fire department. It's just time for rennovations.

Hotel is a short walk to anything in downtown Olympia and has free parking. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and seemed clean, the building is just a showing it's age a bit.
