Noisy! You can hear the water run through the walls to the point that it sounds like a 4-alarm fire warning as you wake up in the morning. Shocking. The hotel could not move my room as they had the same issue everywhere. Room service- forget it, they don't even call back to take your order. However, many places outside the hotel to eat that you can walk to. Otherwise great location.

location, price, pool was nice. Parking, was okay but very difficult to get in and out of spaces. Was a nice hotel, good for the price. Only ones at the pool so it was nice and private (except the lifeguard) Nice little excercise room, good treadmills. Would go there again. Pay per view movies had a good selection too.

"I stayed at La Place DuPuis for over a week. What a great experience due to the friendly service, French/English (bilingual) speaking staff. Excellent view of Montreal and great location near a lot of activities. The hotel is on top of a mall, which was convenient given that it was cold and snowing outside. The concierge service was excellent. Loved the buffet - lots of variety - can't miss the baguettes! Great value and experience."

Gouverneur Place was a nice suprise. Located just a short walk from Old Montreal. You can easily see the red logo on the building from blocks away incase you get lost. Parking garage was handy, receiption was friendly.

"We had issues with 3 burned out lightbulbs in the room that were never replaced despite repeated attempts. Also, parking is expensive, but worth it."

"The staff of the hotel was most gracious, and the room was impecable. No worries here about dining options, given the shops in the little mall attached to the hotel and the variety of dining within blocks. Could not ask for a better location near cultural events with each reach to downtown"

"The hotel is perfectly located for divers/cite events. Right at the start of the gay village, and across the street from the park where many of the events are held. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will go back next year."

Location near university - lots of street life. Some of street life really run-down. Excellent location near bus terminal (airport shuttle). Near university - lots of street life, some good, some bad. Near many medium-priced restaurants and moves, both French and English. Concierge and desk clerks very helpful.

"THis place was nice, it was preety classy and clean and the staff very nice. Great location for everything, but especially night life and gay village, which is lotsa fun. NO BREAKFAST THO!!! but it's connected to underground mall with food. Worth it!"

The location was great and the subway ride was six minutes to both the Bell Center or Casino. Montreal really is French speaking. The front desk staff could switch from French to English flawlessly. I was almost embarrassed because I don't speak anything but English. The rooms and location were great. The water pressure in the shower could knock you over.

Great location, great price and great views. The man at the front counter gave us a hard time with exchanging money, yet his colleague did it for us.

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Montreal and a great stay at the Gouverneur Place Dupuis. The rooms have been recently renovated and offer beautiful views of Montreal. The staff was courteous and the bellman / concierge was great at recommending restaurants and providing sightseeing information.

The lobby & restaurant were elegant & great. A couple of the staff people weren't that friendly. A wonderful oasis convenient to everything-the metro, the bus station, old Montréal, and the Latin district. The room was clean & comfortable, the dining room food was great & the concierge was very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay their again.

"First time traveling to Montreal. Chose the moderately priced hotel over the internet. The hotel itself was nice, the pool a good size, their restaurant food good, and the concierge extremely helpful. I found out that the hotel is located in the heart of the gay community though. Something to keep in mind. My boys and I did shop on Ste. Catherines street by the hotel. It seemed 80% of the crowd were gay couples but we didn't feel uncomfortable during our stroll. There were a couple of inappropriate shops to avoid. "

Restaurant and leisure facilities great, above a metro so convenient. Located near an area frequented by beggars, soup kitchen in square outside. Overall, the hotel was a great place to stay, the concierge staff could have been better informed and helpful, but the rest of the staff was great, especially in the restaurant. Room was clean and comfortable, if a little 'tired'. Being above a car park, small mall and metro meant great convenience, but the square outside was a hang out for beggars.
