A horrible experience -- avoid at all costs!!! I arrived and was told that there were no rooms because they needed emergency repairs and that I'd be taken care of at another equivalent quality hotel. After schlepping on foot across town, I found they'd sent me to a fleabag hotel where my room was a closet next to the manager's desk on the ground floor. I hiked back to the hotel where magically a room was available but they wanted a credit card before they'd show me what it looked like. Check the reviews -- misuse of credit cards and this fraud with overselling rooms is apparently standard practice for them. While having it out with the clerk, another guest in the hotel came to complain that the hotel had taken and lost their passports -- 'check back later, maybe we'll find them' was the response.

Credit card security concernsGenerally the hotel was OK. However, I was very unhappy that when I arrived at 22:00 the receptionist insisted on writing down all my credit card details including the crypotgramme on a sheet of paper. I had no choice but to accept if I wanted a room. At checkout, the next day, I politely pointed out that this procedure was highly unusual compared with seeking a pre-authorisation on a credit card terminal. The response was beligerent "we are not thieves, why do you need your money when I have my own? the management insist on this procedure etc" An unpleasant start to the day. I surprised as this hotel is part of the Tulip franchise group. The receptionist did admit I was not the first to point out the security weakness.

Although a bit pricey, this hotel had a great location, very friendly staff and was great for those who are not proficient with french and are visiting Paris for the first time. During our next, trip we will be staying at this hotel.

Wonderful location with short walk to Opera House, Louvre and Jardins de Tuilleries. Wonderful french bistros close by. Found the old Palace at our back door - wonderful discovery. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I arrived on Tuesday morning after transatlantic flight. We stayed in the hotel for two nights and three days and never were able to take a hot shower. The water heater was broken and they were not able to fix it in 3 days! The people at the font desk were of no help, they should give us an extra descount for the inconvinience, but they only repeated " sorry, we already called the technician"

The room was quite small, the bathroom was very small but overall both were clean. The elevator was small too and if you used the stairs, they were narrow and poorly lit. The breakfast wasn't worth the cost. Had to call down twice for our only two requests: 1) an iron and 2)ice. On the upside, this is a converted home and the back of the hotel was on a small, one-way street, facing a theater. The room (102) had double doors that opened out to this back street which was very pleasant as you could get in fresh air and sit and listen to the dinners chatting at a pizzeria at the end of the block. The Louve was just 1.5 blocks away which was conventinet. Overall, however, it was quite expensive for the size.

This Hotel is located in a superb spot, close to the Louvre and plenty of atmospheric and authentic Parisien restaurants.

The Hotel Washington Opera is GREAT! The room was very nice, clean, well appointed, good sized room (not the typical tiny European hotel room). No complaints about the room or location at all - the bathroom was very nicely done in marble, good sized vanity, and a great shower -- very clean! The Hotel Washington Opera is a quaint hotel, with very friendly staff, in a great location. Just a short walk to the Louvre, the Opera, a subway station, and great shopping! I would definitely stay there again!

Interlinking door between two hotel rooms not locked. After discussion with reception, still unable to lock. No consideration given to personal security.

Fabulous location, staff very friendly, aesthetics excellent, condition very good. The wireless internet service was erratic and unreliable. Dining facilities were only avaialable for breakfast, but there is a wealth of restaurants nearby. No in-room dining service. Rooms were a little small, but that's Paris!

A very well situated hotel in Paris, a short walk to the Louvre and Metro, nice street, the first two receptionists were very friendly, the last female one was a bit standoffish. The room is small but very clean and comfortable, bed and furniture very nice. The air conditioning did not work very well, and when we complained for the second time we were told it takes two days to work ( they had only just switched it on), but it was still not working the last day. Shower good, large towels. Sound proofing was good, but we had to leave the window open as it was the hottest weeked of the year. We did not have breakfast as it is a short walk to pavement cafes. I would stay there again because of the good location.

The Washington Opera was a great hotel for the price! This was our first trip to Paris and we just went on blind faith as far as the hotel location was concerned, but it couldn't have been better. The room was spacious by European standards with a very nice, modern bathroom. The only downside was our room overlooked the street, which, with the windows open was a bit noisey in the evenings. The Louvre was only a 5 minute walk away as was the Metro/RER. We bought a 3 day pass and rode everywhere without much trouble. There is a laundry facility across the street, 2 markets within 2 minutes, many great restuarants, and a wonderful pastry shop just down a few doors. The hotel staff was fabulous and extremely helpful. The maid service was outstanding. One day my daughter was ill and we didn't leave our room until after 2:00 pm, upon our return, the room had been serviced! I can not comment on the breakfast service or room service as we did not use them. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again and recommend it without hesitation!
