Nice hotel in a great locationLocation was great, very close to the center of the city (10 minutes walk, maybe even less), but still away from all the noise. Hotel is clean, room was spacious, staff were ok. However, the bed was way too soft and pillows were way too big. We asked for smaller pillows, but the answer we got was that these pillows are standard and that, unfortunately, they did not have any others. This resulted in a slightly sore neck both for myself and my husband, but still it's nothing too bad, and it could be that we're just people with preferences for smaller pillows so this should not put off anyone, really. Overall, hotel was really good.

Quiet and safe area. Hotel was disappointing and would definitely not be considered 4 stars. Location is less than ideal and lots of additional charges for parking and tax. Overall I was disappointed with the value for money. It would be more accurately described as a 2.5 - 3 star hotel. It is not within walking distance of any tourist attractions.

A very good value hotel. We were impressed with this site and the location and would stay here again. This is our second experience with golden tulip chain, and it is a good one. The level of service was beyond what we expected for the price we paid.

This hotel is in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood. It is about a ten minute walk to the nearest tram stop, but from there you can zip around the city. Our room was clean and bright and really comfy after a long day of sight seeing. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The front desk was convenient for exchanging currency, and they gave the best rate, at the time. I highly recommend the Golden Tulip Apollo and would stay here again.

I can not tell you what agreat trip we had. They upgraded our room when we arrived because we were early and our rm wasnot ready. The beds were so comfortalbe and I have had 3 back surgeries so I can really appreciate a good bed. The food was great ,the staff was wondrful. We are planning another trip this year ans will stay here agian. We loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Week End StayIdeal hotel for chilling out away from the city but within easy reach. Lovely view from the bar terrace, very peaceful looking out over the junction of three canals.Breakfast was too expensive for quantity and quality of food. Use of internet very expensive.Advance airport transfer information could have been better.

The staff was very friendly. It was not worth 229 used a night. If I would have known at the time I checked in that the water would be shut off from 11:30pm to 5:30am I would not have booked the room. The room was very small and the view of the parking lot had something to be desired. Also 7 euros for a beer in the hotel lounge is uncalled for I think.

There are two things that I did not appreciate during my stay: the ridiculously high price of outgoing phone calls, and the even more excessive price of the wireless internet access. Otherwise, I really enjoyed my stay and everything else was perfect. I higly and warmly recommend this hotel.

Large clean room, competent staff. Location, location, location. Overall it was good. Of course, this one was at the end. I had turned down another hotel because it looked like I could get closer for the same rate. No - I was an extra mile or so out.

Nothing. Location is terrible. No where near city center. Do not stay here if you are young and looking to have fun and be in the city center. The cab rides cost a pretty penny.

The location of the hotel, although somewhat far from downtown, was pristine. Very clean, very safe. Nothing comes to mind. Everything seemed on par with hotels of similar price. The Golden Tulip Apollo Amsterdam was a wonderful experience. Our room was stunningly far from the front desk, but as we had very little luggage (one bag each) it was no problem at all. The area surrounding the Apollo was incredibly clean. It seemed like a middle-upper to upper-class neighborhood. The directions we found from the Amsterdam Central were flawless and easy. We did not write them down for some reason, but a vague recollection of street names was more than enough to find the hotel. I very strongly recommend this hotel. The price was much less than for hotels more central to the city and sights, but at the same time it must be said that the metro ride to downtown is 10-15 minutes, and should be taken into consideration.

Friendly and accommodating. Too far from the center. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, and my 5 friends all agreed with me. The accommodations are clean but no extra features, decor is okay, cold/hot water control in shower did not work. A decent 3 star hotel though. What we saved in room charge, we ended up paying in taxis and public transportation.

It was clean. The front desk staff was terrible! The hotel was nice, but located away from anything to do in Amsterdam. On the other hand the lady at the front desk was very rude! She was unfriendly and mean.

Friendly staff. Location and overall quality level. This is a very nice hotel, however, it is certainly not a 4 star hotel (it is a 3 star), and it is certainly not in the center of Amsterdam.

Location is good if you don't mind being away from the city center. Close to museums. A fair amount of noise, but it was new years! Nice lobby and helpful staff. Rooms are a bit worn the rate for new years was not cheap. Close too many attractions. Easy tram to city center. A good hotel, which is showing a bit of wear and tear.

They offered me a cool towel and refreshments as I was checking in. The hotel has a problem with small black flies in the bathroom. This hotel had class, respectful staff, and comfortable beds. After several days on travel this hotel affords its guests quiet and repose. For those reliant on public transportation and don't want to pay cab fare, the hotel is a bit far from the center of town. It's a 30 minute walk through good neighborhoods for those who don't mind the trek.

Concierge very helpful. breakfast buffet very expensive at 22 Euros Nice location, quiet end of town but still near the action.

Staff was exceptionally helpful. Too far from City Center. Hotel staff was exceptional. Rooms were clean and freshly refurbished. Although I did not eat at the dining room on site, I found the prices to be very expensive. Breakfast was around 25 euros. I was pleased with the quality and service and would recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. They charged 29 euros for 24 hours of internet service even though internet service was not available in the room. The hotel was certainly not a four-star hotel. It was at the outer edge of the areas described and quite far from the city center which necessitated taking many taxis. I don't mind paying for internet service in the room, but not at such a high cost such as 29 Euros a night when it is only available in the lobby.

I loved the hotel. It was a bit out of the way, but after a long night the 20 minutes walk was not bad and safe. I did not like how far away it was. The hotel is excellent. It is neat and the staff very helpful. I am a partier and they knew that and treated me just the same as anyone else. That is class. It was a bit far far away. After a long night though the 4:00 am walk was pleasant, along a canal and safe. I took the tram into town came evening.
