my family and i had an amazing time at the golden parnassus. it was our first time to mexico and everything was awesome. the food, the staff, the shows. we espicially enjoyed the fact that the staff went out of their way to make sure you were happy on your vacation!! we will be back for sure!!

I went with a friend of mine. It was mostly couples, with a few single people. We met a lot of interesting and friendly people both who were on vacation and who worked there. It wasn't a classy joint, but it was clean, safe and fun. There was a lot of food choices. Nothing was great, but nothing was bad either. The beach was great and there were plenty of chairs and room in the pool. They also had planned events and opportunities to go outside the complex. It is a short bus ride from entertainment and the mall. Overall, for the price, I would go back.

The best staff I have ever come across. Clean and very comfortable rooms. The staff here is top-notch. It is a smaller property so you see the same people working everyday and it is very personable service. The king-club room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and a great view. I would return to this hotel and recommend it to anyone.

When we arrived at the hotel we found out that the hotel had overbooked and that we were going to be moved to another hotel. The other hotel was a dump and was family friendly. We finally got our reserved room the next day after hours of arguing with various staff. To make matters worse, the hotel hotel staff only offered a 50 dollar voucher to the gift shop as compensation for the overbooking. What kind of lame compensation is that?????? When we actually got into our room the next day it was several hours after the promised time. What a joke!!! Management is never around- on their day off or in a meeting! The staff is also very rude and confrontational. The hotel entertainment employees are juvenile and make more noise than anything. The rooms, if you are lucky to get one, are okay at best. The rooms never get cleaned (our room was cleaned once in four days). And there are NOT enough lounge chairs. You have to reserve your chair at 6am in order to get a chair.

My boyfriend and I vacationed here and were welcomed at the entrance to the hotel by the bellboys who immediately took our bags, gave us cool towels for our faces (which smelled wonderful, by the way) and then seated us in the lobby area. We were then brought a cold frozen fruit drink and our key cards, towel cards and safe key were brought to us and the all-inclusive package explained (what was included, what wasn't) The only things not included were the spa and excursions. The beds are very firm, but we slept well. The lobby is open air, so feels humid, that was how many of the hotels and shopping centers were in Cancun. The room was always cool, but a little damp feeling because of the humidity. Our room was cleaned everyday and if we hadn't taken our "do not disturb" sign off the door, they would call to see if we wanted it cleaned. Tropical storm Dolly came through our 2nd and 3rd days and created some issues as far as outdoor activities, but the hotel activity staff did their best to keep everyone entertained. The bar drinks are good, but they serve drinks in little glasses, however, you can bring your own larger glass and they will gladly fill it for you. Overall, it was wonderful! The beach was washed away from the storm, but you could still get out there and play in the water without problems and lay under the 2nd level of umbrellas (closest to the hotel). Invest in sunscreen, if you go to Xel-Ha, they want you to buy their own biodegradable sunscreen, so don't spend the money at the hotel. Also, take the bus in town (70 cents/person).

We booked my vacation six months ahead of time. When we arrived at the hotel, the hotel was overbooked. We were moved to another hotel that was both disgusting and family friendly. When we tried to get the suite we booked the hotel staff kept trying to make us take a lesser quality room. The hotel offered a $50 gift card to the gift shop for compensation for the overbooking. WHAT A JOKE!!!! The hotel manager is NEVER available. The hotel staff does not provide copies of paperwork when you stay and would not provide documentation related to the overbooking. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH LOUNGE CHAIRS for guests so you have to claim your chair at 6am.

The Golden Parnassus is a little older, but it is very clean. The staff goes above and beyond the call of duty. They know your name and anticipate your every need. We have been to all inclusive resorts before where the staff do their job but that is it. The staff here always has a smile on their face and are ready and happy to please. It doesn't hurt to bring a hundred in ones to tip, because these people deserve it, but will never ask. Check in was our only stumble. We thought we booked a club room with all the amenities, which to this day I still believe we payed for it but I let it go for my husbands sake. The woman behind the desk was a complete bitch. We took it and moved on. Once that ordeal was over we went up to our room, Ocean front with Jacuzzi, what a wonderful view. I would recommend the extra money for the view alone. The room was very clean, the bed was firm yet comfortable. The floors are slippery when wet so be careful. The room was always cleaned every day and we always had a towel animal with flowers scattered on the bed. The food was Great. I never had a meal I did not like. The old barn, the filet, and the chocolate cake were awesome. The sumo, the shrimp fried rice and the shrimp chow mien, and cheese cake were delicious. Pier 12 the filet was great and the apple desert was very good. The Shangrila, the chicken and the chocolate cake were awesome. The Breeze had a good steak sandwich and the buffet was great, eggs anyway you like, waffles, french toast, Fruit. The best part by far the staff and service! Amazing!

We flew into the Cancun Airport looking forward to a relaxing eight days. Beware of being sucked into signing up for ANY tours of hotels as you are leaving the airport. It is LIKE sitting through a hard sell timeshare for VACATIONS. I believe all do it but if you want to waste half a day for cheaper tour ticket options then go for it. For sitting there 2.5 hours we did receive benefits of great ticket tour prices (more than 50% off) & free STUFF (tee-shirts, a bottle of Jose Cuevro & an all inclusive day at the "Royal Cancun", free day on an all inclusive island) beware, it WAS a hard sell. The Golden Parnassus is small and not as classy as some of the others but fun, fun, fun. The view of the ocean is wonderful, the food is good the people very helpful. Be careful of the booze&it is watered down! We aren't BIG drinkers so we noticed very quickly that something was wrong. All you have to do is explain to the bartender & he will understand and pour the "REAL" thing. Don't forget to tip these people!!! They are appreciative. We made lots of new friends and had the time of our life there. I would go back in a heart beat. If you are a shopper&The people WANT to negotiate with you on prices. That was the best and most fun part of my shopping experience and we came home with STUFF!!!! Did the dolphin swim, saw Chichen Itza. Amazing really!!!! For the price&. No children? Go to the Golden Parnassus.

We went on wed night & left Sat after checkout. 1st of all the shuttle took us to the Great Parnassus by mistake...left us there & we had to wait an hour to catch a shuttle to the Golden Panassus..which is their sister hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, the room they assigned us was ridiculous. I booked the deluxe lagoon. There was a big hole in the middle of the blanket, the lamp shade had a hole in it & the tub was horrible..scum build up. So we went to the front desk to complain..& the rep was non-chalant about the room. Offered us a room on the 2nd floor looked about the same but had double beds. The 1st room was a king. We told her we wanted a king as we reserved for our anniversary. Then she told us we could pay $* a day to upgrade to a room w/ a jacuzzi in it. The upgraded room was nice..just don't think we should have had to pay for a decent room. The other room looked like a typical hotel room..nothing to brag about. I was suprised that the mexican food I've eaten in the states tasted better than what was offered at the hotel. I did like the open bars and loved the beach. Very clean & beautiful. The outside pools & jacuzzis were nice also. The spa was ridiculously expensive.. you could catch the bus up the strip to the markets & clubs. There was a taxi on every corner w/ someone constantly trying 2 get u to pay for a ride or sell you a time share. Overall, the trip was relaxing but i would not return & if I do..it wouldn't be to that hotel.

Room and bathroom clean, bed a little on the hard side. Excellent air conditioning in room and restaurants, one night quite cold in a restaurant and had to put on a lightweight coat. No premium TV channels and English stations are old repeats but don't spend much time inside! While using fitness room one morning, the staff turned off the TV I was watching so 3 staff members could do Yoga (there were no guests in this yoga session). I did not use the pool but it appeared other there were enjoying pool activities. Dining areas are clean, service is excellent, and breakfast and lunch includes entrees made to order in addition to the buffet. Night meals are excellent. The Beer Garden Bar needs much improvement. The canned music played two songs simultaneously and the bartender did not have access to correct this. The ping pong table was on the dance floor so you had to dance beside the dance floor - if the music was fixed. One night in the Beer Garden Bar, staff turned karaoke into a trequila shot party and we left. Be sure to watch for the sea turtle laying eggs at night - quite an experience. Watch out for the sales people (time shares) in the lobby - they attack you EVERY time you head to the water. Its a short walk to the bus stop and a short ride to shopping. Buses are clean and quiet - but not air conditioned. Have fun!

The resort was pretty, the staff was very nice, the restaurants were excellent, balcony view outstanding. The worst was how hot the lobby and indoor bar, sweat just pours down, you feel like your going to faint. the all inclussive drinks were dissapointing. Watered down and 6oz. cups, even beer. The pool area was great except if you have bad knees it was very hard to get in the pools and to go down to the beach. The shows were a joke, no matter what show it was, the audience was the show. Ex. 70's & 80's night or latin night there was music and we danced, no actual talented performers. They had a riffle shooting competion: ONE B-B RIFLE SHARED AMONG 15 TO 20 PEOPLE WITH PAPER TARGETS FOR 10 YEAR OLDS. THE GYM WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT IF THE EQUIPMENT WORKED. The 3 gift stores were fair pricing. The best were the 4 restaurants opened from 6-10:30. Rooms were regular but the bed and pillows were very hard. The A.C in the room has a censor that if your not in the room it turns off? Room service sometimes took 45 minutes and there was only 30% accupancy. Going to Playa del Carmen was the best time out of the whole trip.

When we arrived everything seemed wonderful........Beautiful entrance with very helpful staff. The entertainment team is a lot of fun and really get everyone around the pool envolved in the daily activities. The food on the other hand is TERRIBLE!!!! We ate at every restaurant and we never found one thing other then the hamburgers at the snack bar to be good, and they were just okay... nothing to brag about!! You don't get any bottled water in your room.......and then they charge you for it when you call room service... We thought it was standard to get bottled water in Mexico, and included in "ALL INCLUSIVE". The features listed on travel site are incorrect......not every room has a refridgerator / mini bar. Our room had nothing... not even a coffee maker. It was your basic hotel room with the bare minimums. Just not as great of a place as the pictures show, and most likely will never stay here again. I have been told while on the plane ride back that there are a lot nicer places for the same price or even less!!

This is without a doubt the worst all inclusive I have visited in Cancun. The information online was totally misleading. This place should be closed down and completely renovated. The decor is from the 80's and nothing has been done since. With so many beautiful hotels and resorts being built in Cancun, it is only a matter of time until this place goes out of business. I already told everybody I know to avoid this place. I would never go back even if they offer me a week for free. The food selection was horrible and the exercise room is a disaster.

This was the best trip my husband and i've ever had. It really brought us closer together. The staff was great and the food was also good. The only thing that bothered us was when we told the time share guy no he kept on asking us. The entertainment staff was great you can't beat Luis and Said. We would gladly go back as soon as we get a chance.

UGH, I know this is long but I hope you read this. It might save you from a really unforgettably bad experience with this hotel. This was our first trip to Cancun, all inclusive and it was our honeymoon. Arrived Saturday. Everything was great for the first couple days except the really hard beds, ouch! Helpful staff, clean room each day, etc. We were having a wonderful time. Monday everything changed. We tipped the staff $2 or more each time (waiters, maids, bartenders, etc) but it seems it wasn't enough. Bring plenty of dollars as they tell you they don't carry change. We even had a boat captain on a fishing excursion (booked through the hotel) bluntly tell us a $10 tip wasn't enough & demanded he kept the fish we caught. Oh yes, you can have the fish you catch cooked by the restaurants along the Cancun strip. It would have been cool. I understand they do not make enough money & my heart goes out to them but honestly we do not either. All of those tips really add up. Our room went un-cleaned, wait staff ignored us. The people (other vacationers) were great, down to earth & from all over the world. It was neat to meet all of them. We had other couples complaining about A/Cs broken, stolen money so it could have been worse. You have several choices on what to eat but they served very small portions of both drinks and dinners. The Sushi was great but each piece was the size of a nickel. The Old Barn actually the best as far as taste and portions. Each drink is served in a 9 oz cup or smaller. The biggest two issues we had came from 2 horrible experiences. #1) Wednesday night around 2 AM, the couples above & beside our room had violent arguments (glass breaking, woman screaming). The walls are very thin & you could hear everything. I called down to the front desk & they were unconcerned. The fighting continued for far too long. A few other couples heard the chaos. Scary. #2) Upon arriving at the airport, Grayline meets you to take you to the hotel. We were told to meet

We read previous bad reviews and we did get scared by them but decided to risk it. We are so glad we ignored the bad reviews! Everything was immaculate - the only reason we give this 4 out of 5 is that food is decent, not the best, but pretty good depending on menu items you choose (I loved the crab bisque at Pier 12). My boyfriend who is a vegatarian did have a little hard time picking a meal that is yummy for him. He liked Pier 12 the best for vegetable dishes.

The hotel rooms never got cold enough for me. The hotel lobby is not air conditioned and it does get hot and sticky. The phone in my room fell to the floor and broke and the hotel staff made me pay $130.00 to have it replaced. I didn't feel that i should had to have paid for it and at a cost of $130 was RIDICULOUS!!! The food is below average so don't go looing for a good meal at this hotel. The ocean water in Cancun is BEAUTIFUL, regardless of where you stay. I just would not recommened this place.
