I went back to the Golden Gate last month - I don't get the bad reviews for this place. This casino has the only decent place to eat a good breakfast in all of Las Vegas. I'll take that any day over a fabulous show for gays. A Historic Gem with hardwoods and antiques throughout. Was a bit disappointed to see that the sportsbook is no longer run by a 90 year old man and his chalk board. The betting machine is a big mistake for a casino that is made to look like something from a 1950s movie.

I stayed at the Golden Gate last month and I was very surprised. I expected the worst after reading the reviews, but it was no where near what I expected. Aparently the hotel just went through a renovation, and I have to say my room was great. Sure it was no "high roller suite", but geez... I only paid 20 bucks to stay there and I got a really nice room which almost reminded me of a bed and breakfast in the middle of downtown Las Vegas. It was really cool. Overall, this casino was a real sleeper... much better than I expected. I had a great trip and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great time downtown.

The Room is very small and the sheet is dirty!! The garbage area is right below the window. Never stay here.

This is an old hotel built in the late 1800's. If you understand that old hotel rooms are small, then you won't be disappointed. The beds were comfortable and soft. The room had updated, quality furniture. The hotel was quiet except during the Freemont Street Experience show which doesn't end until after midnight. However, who goes to bed before midnight in Vegas? The staff was cordial. The hotel is right on Freemont Street. Since the hotel is small, your room is right on the street unlike Golden Nugget and Binion's. In these hotels, you have to walk toward the back of the casino to get to your room.

There is so small room, not clean etc... but staffs are very kindness. I went there at 8 A.M. However they gave a room key. Anyway, I paid cheap, and enjoyed very much.

Cool historic building in Las Vegas AND just remodeled! The room itself was amazing! Awesome decor, big flat screen tv, super comfy pillow top beds, clean sheets and the room did not stink. The staff was helpful and friendly. BUT not even 100 FEET AWAY THERE WAS 24 HOUR CONSTRUCTION! We only got 45 min of sleep between 4-5AM (it was lunch time).

WE had to wait at least 25 min before we could approach the check-in counter. We finally checked-in to our room and the cigarette ashes were about a quarter of an inc thick on the dingy furniture. It was so bad a went back to the check-in counter and asked for another room. We got a room on the 3rd floor which was a little bit better. The next day my wife couldn't get out of the hotel room fast enough. The hotel rooms are sprayed woth some sort of deoderant in order to kill the smell of the cigarette smoke and the mustyness of an old hotel. I will never stay at the Golden Gate Hotel ever again nor would I recommend it. They should emplode it ASAP!

The Golden Gate Bridge Hotel and Casino is a great deal for what you pay for. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpfull. The location is great, right on Freemont Street.

The Golden Gate Hotel was small but comfortable. It was not flashy just the basics. It would have been nice if they has cable but I really didn't watch that much TV. They had a little diner downstairs with great deals and if you like old school vegas this is your place. The slots still give out change, puckets available.
