Transportation:

From Christchurch: leave the city and head south on State Hwy 1. At Rolleston turn right on Old West Coast Road to Darfield, then join Hwy 77. Go over the Rakaia Gorge and past Mt Hutt turnoff (the road becomes Hwy 72). Continue on to Hart Road on right hand side (Pudding Hill Road is opposite).

From south (Hwy 1): travel to Ashburton then turn left onto Hwy 77 to Methven. From Methven take Pudding Hill Road, cross Hwy 72 and into Hart Road.

From south (inland route): from Geraldine travel north on scenic route Hwy 72. After Alford Forest watch for Hart Road on left (opposite Pudding Hill road).

Cannot recommend this enough! Mike and Helen are delightful, their farm is beautiful and they are wonderful hosts. Stay 2 nights you will love this, and ask to go feed the cattle. We fed baby cattle milk and also got to play with baby lambs.
