Great Getaway...The hotel was a 5-10 minute walk to the sea front downhill through Abby gardens, a beautiful place to stay in a lovely area. Our room (room 2) was lovely, with a flat screen tv and a large comfortable bed. It was decorated to a high standard, although the shower room could do with an update it was more than adequate, fresh towels daily if needed and the coffee/tea facilities were always replenished. Would recommend.

Nice hotelI stay in lots of small hotels and this was much better than average. Lobby was not inspiring but room was clean and tidy, bathroom was well maintained and bed was comfortable. Sheets and towels were not worn and flatscreen TV had good picture. Full breakfast was good quality and cooked well, service was quick and friendly. Location is less then 5 minute walk to the conference centre, less then 10 minute walk to sea front and pleasent 15 minute walk along sea to town centre.

Home CookingA very nice family run hotel. Room clean comfortable and airy. What sets this hotel apart is the breakfast. If you stay there you must try the homemade Yoghurt (boisenberry was my favourite)The toast is homemade bread and to go on it homemade preserves and marmalades, try the Rhubarb and Orange marmalade wow.My wife and I will stay there again when we visit that part of the country which I think say's it all.

Great place to stayWe only stayed here one night but it was a nice experience. The owner is very friendly and helpful and gave us a map of the area and tips on where to go etc. It was very clean and well maintained and had good security. Probably a 15 minute walk into the centre of the harbour area but it is a very easy and pleasant stroll. Had a mix of a B&B feel and a small hotel all in one.

Friendly HotelWhen I arrived I was greeted warmly by the proprietor Peter. The room was clean and tidy and fresh towels lay on the bed, the bathroom was clean which made a nice change to some of the accommodation I have stayed in.The breakfast was very good, you where offered a range of cereals, toast with jam and a freshly cooked English breakfast. The hotel is placed within walking distance of the seafront and greenswards. All in all a very good experience, just what I needed after a 5 hour trip.Thank you again and I will be returning in the future.

the big stay!!only stayed 1 night in the glendower but enjoyed it.the owner was friendly and we got a late breakfeast when we forgot to get up which was nice of them.the hotel itself was big and clean and had lots of info for torquay.the only problem i had was that it was a bit of a walk to the centre of things and taxis there and back over a week might get expensive but i couldnt fault anything else and would stay there again.

We will be going back!Peter & Jackie make wonderful hosts. Jackie met us on our day of arrival, and was friendly and helpful - telling us straight away the best places to eat in the evening (which was important after our journey). The breakfasts were delicious - home-made bread, jam and yoghurt, on top of locally produced ingredients. The room was lovely and quiet, the bed almost luxuriously comfortable, and the shower was one of the best I've encountered in holiday accomodation. We're planning to go back for another long weekend in September - and will definitely be staying at Glendower again!

best nights sleep I have had in a hotelWhen I arrived the look form the outside was a bit off putting, but the room, the bedding, shower and cleanliness was fantastic, I have never slept is such a comforatble bed. Peter was a great host, however having black pudding on the breakfast would be good!!!!!!

What a find! This is the third time I have stayed in a B&B or guest house as opposed to a budget chain hotel (Travelodge, Premier Inn). This acoomodation not only has lived up to its reviews but exceeded my expectations. Travelling with family, my son was suitably occupied either watching the TV or access the wireless internet. The other half was satisfied with the room layout, the room facilities, and we both appreciated the amount of work required to keep all decor spick, span and appearing freshly decorated - this seems to be achieved by the management's attitude toward providing quality and not necessarily quantity, by which I mean they would prefer to properly serve a few rather that \"stack 'em and pack 'em high\" in terms of numbers of guests. I have only marked the quality of room down to a 5 because there was no fresh ventilation available but this was understandable because the room we had was on the ground floor so the windows were secured. Once you recognise that there is a plethora of B&Bs in this area you have to see what puts this one above the rest. And I think this is down to guests willing to put in a review (something I don't usually do unless an hotel is particularly bad and I feel the need to warn others!) The laid back, welcoming, and friendly demeanour of the owner permeated throughout the stay. I think the measure of the Glendower's hospitality is infectious as guests would usually greet each other too. It's also really difficult to take a chance on using \"great deal\" websites in order to find somewhere suitable. So I feel really fortunate to have come across the owners' advertising on laterooms.com and grateful to have found this gem of a place to stay when I need to in the future, and can recommend to others I know.Leafy, surprisingly quiet streetSome on site parking, plenty on street parking5 - 10 minutes walk from Torquay rail station5 - 10 minutes walk to seafront5 mins walk to greenery/park areaPlenty of restaurants within 10 - 15 m

Great B&BA very friendly welcome from the owner, she gave me lots of local information as I've not been to Torquay since I was a child. Good location close to shops, restaurants, the Harbour and conference centre. Room was very clean, it had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable!! My room was upstairs and I think it was one of the rooms still to be refurbished but was still nice, the rooms downstairs were lovely. Breakfast was excellent cooked to order and perfection! with homemade bread and yoghurt. I will still stay there again next time Im in Torquay.
