These views can also be enjoyed whilst relaxing in the conservatory of the Watermark Brasserie and bar, which offers delicious food and wine. Complimentary leisure facilities are also available including a fitness arena, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub and solarium. The Glendorgal fulfils every dream of the perfect Cornish holiday. All 26 En-suite bedrooms are stylishly decorated equipped with all modern facilities, using the beach as inspiration from the names of the bedrooms to the colors of the linen and furnishings. Many of the bedrooms have stunning views of the Cornish coastline, which enables guests to relax and unwind. Here at the Glendorgal they have a fully equipped health club offering a fitness arena, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub and solarium. For guests staying in the hotel, entrance to the Health Club is complimentary. Children under 16 are not permitted to use the Health Club but may use the swimming pool between the following hours: Monday to Friday 10:00am 12:00pm midday and 2:00pm 6:00pm. Saturday and Sunday all day.Please note the following opening hours for Christmas and New Year:Christmas Day: The restaurant will be open for breakfast but both the restaurant and bar will be closed on Christmas Day evening.New Year's Eve: The restaurant will be open as usual and the bar will be closing at 23:00 on New Year's Eve.

This place was amazing . The staff were so friendly and helpful. the views were stunning . we were lucky to have gorgeous weather too We had evening meal which was really good ...cost a fair amount but worth it. Air con in room would make it perfect!

A Great StayWe returned to the hotel for the second time and exactly as the first everything was excellent. All the staff are polite and helpful and the hotel is quite modern and very clean. Theres constant maintanance taking place behind the scenes to keep everythuing as it should be an i will definatly be heading back there again.

Expectations and RealityI have been coming to this hotel for the past three years (on business) every year and look forward to staying at this hotel due to the quality of the rooms, the sea view and excellent customer service. Unfortunately, this year it appeared that the hotel had become a little 'weathered'. The usual folder of information and menu for the restauraunt that was usually within the room was void (apparently it is being updated)....no homemade biscuits and welcome card in the rooms and feel new pillows, a new matress and a lick of paint would be beneficial. Having being moved from the first room allocation (as not appropriate) the patio door of the second room did not lock (and on the ground floor), the hairdryer ceased to work after 5minutes due to it being too small to deal with the heat! and I had 3 nights of disturbed sleep as the first floor has very, very noisy floor boards and subsequently could hear ever footstep / person walking to and from their rooms. In addition, the receptionist even failed to transfer a business message that had been telephoned through for me regarding the timing of my meeting the following morning! For the money and previous expectations and experiences I have had at this hotel ,it is with regret, that I will not be returning next year...

Contemporary Hotel in a stunning locationReally can't fault the Glendorgal at all for a single / business traveller.Lovely room (although lacking aircon or any kind of fan), fantastic food.Sadly, although I planned to re-visit with my wife, the cost of doing so is prohibitive - the hotel charges per person, not per room.Stunning value for the single traveller - but starts to look expensive if traveling as a couple.

Perfect stay for single business travelThis is a lovely out of the way hotel that is perfect for a single female travelling on business. The rooms are refreshingly modern and very clean. Reception is accommodating and very helpful but in an understated way that gives confidence to a business customer. The food is excellent and the service, seating arrangements etc give confidence to a single customer. The view from the restaurant is beautiful.

Great little getaway!Lovely location, close to the bustling centre of Newquay although you wouldn't know it, overlooking Porth bay in a quiet secluded area. Excellent for a short break or longer, although this would be a bit expensive. The staff were really friendly, and the food excellent in a lovely restaurant overlooking the sea. Restaurant seemed a popular place for people other than guests at the hotel so would recommend booking, and they do ensure everyone has a table by the window where they can. The room was a really good size - we took 2 dogs with us and there was plenty of space. The only downside was that the room only had a patio door & no windows, so at night we had to keep the door closed because of the dogs and the room was really hot. Air conditioning would have been good, but it wasn't enough to put us off maybe returning in the future. The gym looked well equipped, although we didn't get time to use it and the whole spa facility looked modern and clean but again we didn't get time to make the most of it.

Nice position but in need of love and careA lot of money for a nice position but doesn't warrant the money charged for the rooms, corridors are tatty most rooms dont have a view, walls are paper thin and one can hear the floorboards creaking all around as fellow visitors walk around their rooms.

Porth beach and Glendorgal - a wonderful combination in sunshineThis is a lovely, small, friendly hotel with a laid back approach. so relaxing. with a wonderful beach on the doorstep. You can't beat Cornwall in the sunshine. forget the med.. - try this part of England! room clean, food excellent, pool and spa nice extras. We'll be back again.

Loved itBeen to the glendorgal 4 times now 3 times on business and the last time for a getaway with my wife. We loved it spent hours in the spa, steam room and pool. Burnt off a few extra calories after dinner in the gym. The only reason for the lower food score is that there isnt a lot of it, but at least it stops you piling on the pounds

Slighty disappointed that when I booked the hotel the review stated room sevice available but I was told it wasn't when I checked in. Overall, a nice hotel in a beautiful location. Rooms are comfortable and basic but good value for money. Stunning views from the restaurant and really nice food. Service is excellent. Very good value for money and I would stay here again. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone but it is certainly good for being close to the beach and town centre with clean, comfortable accomodation at a good price.

RollingMagnificent views, watched tide come in and go out from our room and restaurant. Excellent service, very attentive, couldn't better it. Pool was one you could swim in, about 20 meters long, warm and user friendly. would love to again and for longer.

Happy stayQuality of food evening and breafast excellent and reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and helpful. The position of hotel was a treat and the public bar/eating areas a pleasure to be in.Couldn't access a sandwich/snack at lunchtime. Room had beautiful view of the sea but could have done with a freshen up of paint and some attention to tiles in bathroom and carpet cleaned/renewed. Double bed was only small (?4ft )and mattress bit lumpy - could possibly do with replacing. Hallway to rooms could do with freshening up also.Would recommend apart from things that have pointed out.

Hen weekend - 3 sistersThe quality of the hotel was great - unfortunately one of the rooms booked had bed bugs, but once reported the staff were very helpful and we were refunded fully for the room. This means though that we could never go back - stll itching at the thought now.

A great hideawayWe stayed at Glendorgal using a deal on laterooms.com. We found the hotel to be of a really high standard with nice rooms, atmosphere, clean and tidy and a great place to hideaway from the world when you want a break. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the lady who served us was really nice and was very accommodating to our needs even though we were the only diners.

Style over substanceThis is a fantastic location. The carpark was quite small for a largish place. The receptionists and dining room team were all extremely helpful and polite. On face value the design of the accommodation is really modern and appropriate for a seaside location ( seagrass flooring /wet room showers) and the size of our room was great value for money. However, bathroom fittings were not finished well - the water pressure was disappointing for a stylish wet room and the shower head fell off. It was aestetically pleasing but not always practical (tiny handbasin). Generally the finish around the place wasn't as good as the image the owners clearly want to portray.We wanted to eat in the dining room which seemed to still being refurbished. The quality of the food was disappointing for the price and for the image that the hotel is portraying. However, on balance we have tried to book there since and its been full. They welcome dogs and the terrace access was excellent. Its far enough from Newquay to be a good family venue but close enough to venture into town There are loads of walks and beaches to choose from. The views are stunning and it worked well for us with a toddler and a dog. The standard of the client service out weighed any negative points.

Don't pay for Ocean ViewI spoke to this Hotel on the phone for prices and basically 'bartered' them down to £110 per night (even though this was available for just £60 on Laterooms). I took the Laterooms price :-)Hotel was spotless, staff were friendly, breakfast was lovely. The only fly in the ointment was the receptionist trying to charge us £20 extra for the Ocean View room. These rooms are not worth it as they overlook the flat roof of the breakfast room below, with a glimpse of the ocean in the distance.

this room no 15 was poorbathroom was a grubby shower full or black mould sink plug didnt work needs adjusting rad in bathroom very loose on wallbathroom door catch missing main room door handle screws loose so difficult too lockbed in room sloping down towards the head board feels strange too sleep infood menu was expensive and only 4 choices did me a favour as we went to rick steins cafe and his menu was cheaper check it out on the netbrekfast was really good at this hotel
